Because Sometimes...
....you just need to get out your great-grandmother's teapot, a favorite vintage table cloth, a cup of coffee, and just put on some soothing music and spend a little time reading God's Word and soaking up His promises. I've discovered, after living here for 12 years, that one corner of the...

Floral Thank You Card
Welcome! Today begins a week of new JustRite Papercraft releases, beginning with the Floral Thank You set used on the card above, and shown fully below. (Card size is 4" x 7".) While I love to *color* images, sometimes it's fun to use solid images--there, I admitted it! ;-) Seriously, I d...

masculine card creating
One theme of card that I hear so many card makers say is the most difficult are masculine cards. Why is it that these types of cards are so hard to create? Is is because there is a lack of ideas? There aren't many supplies geared towards a masculine theme? Several weeks ago, I started a thread o...
Love these. You have such an eye for detail, which is why I would love for you and Ellen to team up and offer card kits. Please consider!
Hello, Monday 04.01.2013
(click on the pic to enbiggan) Some simple but beautiful tags on Pinterest caught my eye and I wanted to recreate the look... When we think of shipping tags, we tend to think of them in white, or cream and sometimes kraft... But the tags I had seen were in bold bright colors, and had boldly...
beautiful card for such a sad occasion. My sympathies
Another Sympathy Card. . .
Two sympathy cards in one week--that's two too many, isn't it? I needed a card today for a dear friend who lost his wife unexpectedly. They had many good years as a team. I thought I should keep it clean and simple. Stamps used were PTI's Embroidered Blooms and Heart-2-Heart #10, stamped ...

Tea and Roses
I don’t know if anyone still looks at this blog, or subscribes, or views it in a reader, but I’ve decided to come back here for cards and whatever crafty projects I may dream up. My other blog, Goldens and Garden, will be just that – a blog for Wally and LuLu (my two Golden Retrievers) and the ...

Designing with Neon by Julie Ebersole
When I was a teenager back in the '80s, neon was hot! I must admit to being intimidated when the trend came back into vogue this year... But, then I took it as a challenge to stretch creatively! :) Probably one of the easiest ways to interject these hot new colors into your projects is by playin...

Restless, Part 2, The Next Phase
Dear Readers, All of a sudden, our house is enormous. When my Mom was here, it felt way too small. Now we hear our own voices echoing in the rooms, rather than the swoosh of her oxygen machine. The silence is lovely but big. Mike and I spend our free time looking on realtor.com and visiting open houses and scheming for a different life. We want a much smaller home in a "walkable" area -- near a coffee shop and restaurants and people on the sidewalks, not hidden behind automatic garage doors. We won't move this year as other pieces of our lives have to fall into place but it is coming. I AM SO EXCITED TO MOVE ON. Not sure where, but as long as I am with Mike, it will be wonderful. And, all of a sudden the internet is too big, my craft room too stuffed, and my attention span too short. Now I understand why I posted a few months ago that I was restless. I wasn't trying to figure out how many brands of black ink I needed; I was trying to figure out the next phase of my life. This is my last post on Paperlicious. (Yes, I am still stamping and will most likely post my cards on Splitcoast and other forums and I will still post on forums). I'll keep the blog live for a while because there are a few posts that I would like to revisit for a good chuckle. Since I enjoy writing, I may start another blog some day, or take up writing elsewhere. Thank you so much. I am so happy that I blogged as it allowed me to get to meet so many of you. Your comments, cards, and emails sustained me through some boring days, rough times, and gleeful moments. And many of you were unexpectedly generous and kind to my Mom. And I found your blogs, which delight me. But most importantly, we had fun, didn't we? Sincerely, Joan (Dear Paperlicious) Continue reading

Two Hearts Become One
**Edited to add envelope box and spiral blossom notes at the end. Thanks!** Don't say it! I don't usually make a card that is so thick that you have to make a coordinating box for it. But I must have been channeling Becca today. . . :-} Seriously, I did take Becca's advice and try die cutting ...
