If you read this blog daily U would have to swear that Golden and Golden alone is responsible for WW II, cancer, global warming, heart disease, the dispicable acts of ISIS and the recent measels outbreak.

Even if we put 6 OL in the NFL over the last 2 years everything TonyCane said is true. Can FSU say that?

Wow, SOUP, if you've actively decided to throw in your lot with the excuse-makers, I wish you well. I guess slurpers need a place to call their own.
There's GOOD REASON to be negative.
Enough. I'm finished.

Oh? #WEFENSE doesn't suffice?

I'll admit, Dallas is a terrible place, and WEFENSE is a terrible hashtag, but no -- if that's the only corrective action they're going to take, I'm gonna have to say that's not enough.

If you read the Al-pologists every day, you'd think that sending Golden and Coley to Dallas was sufficient accountability for the terrible coaching last season.

It's hard to not count the RS though. It's not like they weren't available to play. Ask yourself this question. How many players are allowed to travel, and how many travelled? Anything else is just spin.

It's not hard to not count the RS; it's a piece of cake. All you have to do is to want to prove that Miami's situation was desperate, and not because of anything Al did -- like deciding whom to redshirt.

Just watched the new QB's video. Dude is unreal accurate. Does anyone know why a 6'6 QB with a 4.0 GPA and incredible accuracy on a 12-1 team only had offers from VMI and Columbia? Obviously much isn't known on him but I'm trying to figure out his down side.

So, according to ITU, we offered QB Evan Sheriffs and he committed. That's our 2015 qb. Very underrecruited and unpolished but has a very nice arm. Needs a MINIMUM 2 years on campus to ever play a down. Career backup at Miami, IMO, but good for depth

We should have won all other games and finished 9-3 or at the very least 8-4. The fact that that did not happen is concerning. If it happens again then ch-ch-ch-changes must occur.
Posted by: SOUP | February 05, 2015 at 08:23 AM
Both the 2013 and 2014 seasons ended with the 'Canes dumping four games, starting with the FSU games. In 2013, they were able to interrupt the skid with wins over some pretty damned weak UVA and Pitt teams; in 2014, even the UVA and Pitt games couldn't stop the free-fall.
Now, I'm not asking you to become a full-on "hater." But I am going to ask you momentarily to lower the rose-colored shades as you contemplate the following: This year, the FSU game is in week 5, and comes before a stretch of seven games in which every team but two (Duke/UNC) beat UM in 2014, and only UNC failed to beat UM in both prior years.
Aside from "I'm a fan, it's what I do," what is the rationale behind thinking that "it" won't happen again? (By which I mean a bunch of losses to less-talented teams, with the losses particularly piling up after The Quit sets in.)
I'll spare you my read on why it will happen again, because it's just as much of a downer for me as it is for everybody else. But I will say it's not JUST "Golden sucks." (Happy to provide backup detail upon request.)

New Kids On The Block
Now that National Signing Day 2015 is in the books we thought we would give all of the Miami Hurricane fans out there a closer look at the new kids on the block. Here is the NSD breakdown courtesy of www.hurricanesports.com: LAWRENCE CAGER • WR 6-5 • 200 • TOWSON, MD. • CALVERT HALL ...
Kids growing into the size they need to be does not make them slower. Duke and Dorsett probably added 20 pounds each while they were here, Clive and Denzel probably 30+.
Posted by: Go,GoCanes! | February 05, 2015 at 07:49 AM
The size they need to be TO DO WHAT? If Ohio is right, and they intend for McIntosh to be a DT, he's going to need to get bigger. But if he's going to be a successful two-gapping NT, he's going to need to get bigger still. And the same is true for most guys coming in to play in the front seven.
If guys are trying to fill a certain role, rather than simply to carry the optimum mix of muscle and fat for their skeleton, you can end up with, say, a Denzel who's carrying a lot of muscle at 245, but also a noticeable gut. Maybe that gut doesn't make him "slow" for his position, but it does make him "slower" than he COULD BE if he were trying to be a LB in the mold of, say, every Miami defense over the previous 25 years.

Listening to Golden's press conference, and it seems like I picked above:
- Directly referenced the cloud.
- Directly referenced the youth.
- Directly referenced losing Duke Johnson.
- Indirectly referenced suspensions.
- Indirectly referenced transfers.
- Indirectly referenced the resources.
- Directly referenced the sucky defense.
- Indirectly referenced the pass protection.
- Directly referenced conditioning.
Not at all challenged by the media. Blake and Donna seemed to have picked them from scratch.

Bc I honestly find it hard to believe that this guy can truly be this incompetent but rather he just doesn't care
Posted by: Jsy | February 04, 2015 at 01:03 PM
I think Golden's coaching experience is entirely at places where, say, eight wins is a perfectly acceptable outcome. When he was able to get to about that level at TEMPLE, of all places, he figured to himself that what he was doing must really, really work great -- everybody knows Temple ain't no good.
So he's brought that system to Miami. And it's going to keep doing what it's always done: hover around a little over .500. The main thing about Miami that would have really helped him -- the local talent -- is going to be less and less of a factor over time, as he gets less and less effective at getting that talent to sign. And Al will keep thinking that it can't possibly be him or his system, because by God, he was winning at Temple.

"Depth trash" is only known after time has passed, not because they sign late, which is what he and other dude said, not the same.
Posted by: 30CINCO | February 04, 2015 at 10:59 AM
No, signing guys late is not the same as signing trash. And that's NOT what I said -- though unsurprisingly, that's what you latched onto.
Remember Randy's last class? Of course you do. We knew then, and we REALLY know years later, that most of those guys shouldn't have gotten offers. Al may be tempted to take a full class, given that he's under a lot of pressure. I am hoping he resists that temptation to the extent that it would lead him to pick up players just for the sake of numbers.
