Thank you for all of your ideas. I'm loving these stamps.
Love the old fashioned feel of that layout. It is beautiful.

Hi Alice, this is so much what I am looking for. For me PSE was not totally what I wanted (I feel like I have outgrown it). It will catalog, just takes several steps. I have taken 2 on line photography classes in the last two years and have stepped up my photography which in turn has stepped up the amount of pictures I have taken. The 2nd photography class that I took was Karen Russell's Snapshot of a good life. I learned so much. I keep going over the material and keep learning and tweaking my photography. I have also read Stacy Julian's Photo Freedom. I am going to take class and use what will work for me. I am really not wanting to put my photos in storage drawers. I really like the idea that you have used to get all of your photos in one place on your computers. Right now, I have had my laptop for a year and 1/2 and LR told me I have 6 to 7 thousand pictures on here(these have been taken since I got the computer). I have pictures on my desktop that go back to 2002 when I went digital. It must be around 30,000 pics (just a guess). My goal was to get my laptop pictures organized and cataloged before bringing my other pictures over to catalog. I also have all of the film, negatives and printed pictures from before 2002. I am going to the same as you, and take films and negatives to Costco (probably several trips). I know this will take a good while. I will definity take your advice about move them to a Lightroom Photo file. All of your information makes very good sense. With PSE, I had started keywording pictures but not in any system. I was starting to feel they were all over the place. I like the way you have your keywords and then have a subcatagory by year. I can probably give you some backup options. I have looked at a few online backups and am still trying to make a decision between them and a in home backup system. The 2 that I have narrowed it down to online are Carbonite.com and Mozy.com. My brother has recommended Carbonite to me. Ali Edwards recommends Mozy on her blog. The in home backup system is drobo.com. This is what Karen Russell uses. The basic drobo is a little pricy so I am still trying to decide. Right now I do back up my pictures on a small portable hard drive. I just want to add another back up to my system for reassurance. I have gotten bogged down in the last year or two and haven't scrapped that much mainly because my pictures are so unorganized. My supplies are organized, though. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain your system. This is the kind of system that I want to set up. Cathy

Hi Karen, glad to see that you had fun in Greece and got to be with Josh. I have definitely missed you and your blog. Hope you are starting to feel rested and energized. Mojitas on Greek shoreline with cute hubby----not too bad.
Oh Karen, I thouroughly enjoy reading your blog regularly. We will be here when you come back. We all need a break periodically for different things in our lives. You relax and get a much needed breather. We will miss you. Oh, and that picture of Annie is adorable.
Congratulations!!!!! My son graduates from high school tonight. He joked with us last night that we needed to hold our breath until we hear his name to walk across the stage. lol. Kassidy will have a lot of fun majoring in photography.

That looks like such a fun party. Happy Birthday Courtney Lee! It is so sweet that Josh painted the girls nails-you have to scrapbook that. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your photography class. I learned so much about my camera and am taking better pictures. I didn't get to tell you that before you left the message board. Cathy Bruijn
I agree with others, you rock Karen. Just wanted to you to know, I thoroughly enjoyed your class and learned so much. I have wanted to tell you that but you left the board before I got to tell you. Cathy Bruijn
Loved your pages this week. I really miss QVC with all of the layouts and inspiration. Keep up the good work.

I have pages just like that. It is hillarious to look back on them. I have been scrapping about 10 years and it is fun to see how much we have all evolved. You, Lisa and Krisy Banks pages on QVC all inpired me and helped me develop my style. Really miss those days. You guys had a dream job.

I am going to see if I can find the time to get a page done for this challenge. I love that commercial. Very clever. Have you seen the commercial with Danica Patric (NASCAR driver) pulling over to the pit to have her tires changed. Her pit crew is all men who are dressed in skimpy little skirts, mid-drifts and very high high-heels. They change the tires with these outfits on. It is hillarious.

Thank you for sharing what Zach's been doing. My daughter, Jenn, is traveling all summer with Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corp. Her calling is "music". They have been playing up north so far and are in South Carolina tonight. They will be in Valdosta, GA tomorrow and we live 90 miles from there, so are going to see her, can't wait. It is really hard to have them leave the nest. I have enjoyed reading your blog and it helps to read about other mom's having to let their children leave for a while. It really sounds like Zach is getting experiences that he will remember his whole life. My Jenn says she has never worked so hard, but she is having the time of her life. Keep updating us.

Love the polk a dots. I am actually doing a simalar thing right now. My daughter, who just graduated, is traveling all summer with a drum and bugle corp. She will be home for a week in August before moving into a dorm. My son wants her room (it is a lot bigger), so I am re-doing his room. I am going to re-do her room before she gets back (even though she will be in a dorm, I still want her home whenever she wants to come home). I have so much fun doing this even though it is a lot of work. Just have to figure out how to get all of her belongings into a room half the size it is. I know your girls will love that you did that for them.

I love that layout. You are so creative. I am glad you got to talk to Zach. My daughter graduated a week and half ago and left the next day to travel with a drum corps and brass band all summer. I got to talk to her last night also. I am missing her bad now so I know how you must miss Zach. Thanks for giveaway opportunity.

Hi Kerri, I am really loving all of the new silhouette designs. I wanted to ask you about how you catagorize your digital photos on your computer. I have photoshop, but am not crazy about how I have it set up. This is bogging me down when it comes to scrapbooking (and playing with my silhouette, or course). Any new suggestions would be great. Cathy

Oh, Jordan looks so cute. I love when groups do the 70's. It is so fun. Love Kassidy's mugs. I was sad about Adam. He was my favorite. I did like Kris and Danny also. The last show was awesome. I can't wait to use some of the new designs. I am having a graduation party next Fri. night for my daughter that is graduating next Sat. I can't play with my silhouette until that is over with. Keep up the good design work.

I love American Idol and Biggest Loser. I hate that there is usually nothing to watch during the summer. Last year I got hooked on Army Wives-their new season starts in June. On American Idol--I love Adam. I love his voice. I don't always like some of the songs he has chosen. Danny would be my second favorite. On Biggest Loser, I am rooting for Tara. I am loving all of the newest silhouette designs. You guys have stepped it up. How do you organize your digital pictures on your computer. I am using Photoshop. It is working ok. I would love to figure out a better system even if it is something different in photoshop.
