You were truly blessed to have such a relationship with your father-in-law. That's how it should be. You've written a fitting tribute. Well done, and thanks for sharing.
My prayers for you and yours during this time of grief (Romans 12:15).
Godspeed, Geno..
We lost one of the good ones on Friday. My father-in-law Tom was a great guy. He grew up on a fox farm on the East Coast, went off to war at the tender age of 17, and flew B-24's on dozens of missions. He came home, tried college for a bit, and then went to work. He made his name in plastic...
And here I thought it stood for Embalmed Brains Of Leftist America!
What does EBOLA stand for?
Enjoy Barack Obama's Legacy, America.
Oh, ye of little faith!
;-)
You know what global warming doesn't do?
Make big lakes colder.
Your logic is flawless. Now to see if you are a prophet.
Does Ray Rice have a case against the NFL? ***UPDATED***
Let me start off by making it perfectly clear that I think any man who lays a hand on a woman is scum, and deserves everything that comes from it, being loss of job, loss of family, and loss of his livelihood. Here's what we know: Ray Rice was observed standing over his unconscious fiance outsi...
Garfield? Is that you?!?
How I feel after dinner tonight..
If I may step into the discussion here with some insight into the initial question based on my experience with infectious diseases, I would first want to know the conditions under which they were operating. I strongly suspect they were not clean room Biohazard Level III containment facilities. As such, people being human, it would take only one moment of carelessness for an infectious viral load to be transferred when there is so much available in the environment. That moment of carelessness could have been caused by almost anything: extreme fatigue, loose tape, scratching one's eyeball at the wrong time, etc., etc.
Do we need to be concerned about travel? Yes and no. Airline travel is probably one of the most infectious ways to travel as you have all those people essentially confined in a sealed flying petri dish, so that even the common cold has a decent chance of being transferred. Fortunately, for now at least, the outbreak seems to be limited to Africa, but since we can't exactly stand up and ask everyone on our plane if they've been to Africa recently, perhaps holding off on airline travel for awhile is advisable? Regardless, one should do what is possible to enhance one's immune system prior to and for a time after air travel: get enough sleep, don't eat junk food and high sugar foods (yeah, that donut and coffee for breakfast probably isn't the best for you...sorry about that!), etc.
I hope that sheds some light on the situation.
One simple question..
This flowchart has been making the rounds on social media: Get it? The not-so-subtle message is that worrying about Ebola is ridiculous, and a waste of time. The MSM has made a point to tell us how next-to-impossible it is for you to contract the virus. Here's my question: If catching Ebola ...
Yo, dude! Nothing to see here! Just move on already!
;-)
If these are the emails we can actual see..
..imagine what they are hiding. You can find the newly released docs here. Good thoing this woman wasn't partisan, and didn't have an axe to grind. Is there any question as to why she took the Fifth? Our friends on the Left continue to say there's no scandal there.
Their bias is so blatantly obvious, but when neurons have been reduced to spastic twitching from all that medicinal weed, and fried by all that leftist propaganda in university, all too few actually see it. Disgusting just begins to describe the true depravity of the situation.
And the Media collectively yawns..
The US Embassy in Libya gets evacuated, the President goes golfing. Do your damn jobs.
Hey, man, you wouldn't be dissing users, now would you? Chill out man! Sounds like you need some medicine too!
Reality is such a bummer...pops all those bubbles.
;->
No shit, Sherlock..
Pot is contributing to increase in homelesspopulation in Denver: Officials at some Denver homeless shelters say the legalization of marijuana has contributed to an increase in the number of younger people living on the city's streets. One organization dealing with the increase is Urban Peak, whi...
Heretic! We'd burn you at the stake, but that would really increase your carbon footprint, contribute even more to globaloney warming, and not make us look very good....
(Right now, I'm so settling on the science that I'm ROFLOL!)
"Settled Science", indeed..
We learn that Antarctic ice is hitting record levels this Summer, and that the Government data shows the USA has been in a decade-long cooling period. The British responds to this good news by trying to ban anyone that dares talk about these facts.
Given that placing "Leftist" and "mind" together creates an excellent oxymoron....
It was a solar-powered airplane, right??
Only in the Leftist mind, does this make sense:
Well, apparently someone's been reading How To Lie With Statistics!
It's not just moving the goalposts..
It's changing the rules, the playing field, and the ball: The Census Bureau, the authoritative source of health insurance data for more than three decades, is changing its annual survey so thoroughly that it will be difficult to measure the effects of President Obama’s health care law in the nex...
Get with the program! Who yah gonna believe? The Elite-Who-Knows-Better-Than-You, or your lying eyes?!?
Wait a second..
I thought if we had stiffer gun laws, attacks at schools would go away? You remember the arguments, how a madman with "only" a knife couldn't do the kind of damage a nutjob with a gun could? Today, that changed in the USA. Up to six people were stabbed at a high school near Pittsburgh and one ...
Given that "selfies" are just another symptom of our present narcissistic culture....
Only in Tucson..
I understand that some students might be upset after a heartbreaking loss (one would think Arizona fans would be used to disappointment by now), but do you really need to take "selfies" during your riot?
Don't we wish our children were as obedient!
Quite the trainer..
Not irony...just Doublethink and Newspeak!
Ironic, no?
Nothing like giving a talk on free speech, while denying Press coverage at the same time: First lady Michelle Obama told students that freedom of speech should be a universal right during her extravagant, no-press-allowed tour of China — a hypocritical move that will surely draw the ire of criti...
This is your brain...this is your brain on drugs...wait! It looks like a liberal brain!
Shocking, that a Liberal prediction hasn't come to pass..
"Legalize pot", they said. "Regulate it, tax it, and make a fortune of it", they said. "Use the proceeds to fund schools, and programs, and cops", they said. "Whatever costs arise, the revenue from making it legal will offset it", they said. They were wrong. But in January of 2014, Colorado o...
Ah, ha! Racist!
You know how you can tell if your signature legislation is working as intended?
You don't have to hide exceptions to it in other pieces of legislation: ObamaCare's implementers continue to roam the battlefield and shoot their own wounded, and the latest casualty is the core of the Affordable Care Act—the individual mandate. To wit, last week the Administration quietly excus...
ROFLOL!!!
This could never happen with Obamacare..
When faced with a backlog, the VA destroyed Veterans medical records: “We just didn’t have the resources to conduct all of those exams. Basically we would get about 3,000 requests a month for [medical] exams, but in a 30-day period we only had the resources to do about 800. That rolls over to th...
Stop it! You're killin' me!

Young man, how many times must I tell you that you can't expect these alleged human beings to be able to think logically, which is what the ability to answer your question presumes. Quit that! ;-)
A question for my Democrat friends..
Are there any limits to what the President can do, in regards to passed laws? For example, the President recently decided to delay the implementation of Obamacare for business with 50-99 employees until 2016. Democrats don't seem to have a problem with a President using this power. Is there any...
And we're surprised because...?
And the real inconsistency? The largest reservoir of HIV/AIDS is the "gay" community, a sought after (by Democrats) demographic.
Why does Obama hate people with HIV/AIDS?
If he doesn't hate them, why is he not allowing them to get coverage? Hundreds of indigent HIV/AIDS patients are dependent on Ryan White payments for Obamacare because they fall into a gap. They are not eligible for Medicaid, the joint federal-state health insurance program for the poor, because...
Obviously you don't have the Democrat dictionary, which basically changes definitions as needed.
I don't think he understands what the word "mandate" means..
Another day, another delay (and law ignored): The Obama administration announced Monday it would give medium-sized employers an extra year, until 2016, before they must offer health insurance to their full-time workers. Firms with at least 100 employees will have to start offering this coverage ...
Dude indeed! That is so totally freaky that my acrophobia kicked in long before the end of the video!
Dude.
A brain? A brain?! I need a brain?!???
Yo! Anyone have a brain I can borrow?
A brain, a brain, my kingdom for a brain!
(The preceding liberal outcry has been a public service announcement brought to you by The Heritage Foundation as proof of one of the primary faults of the Left. You're welcome!)
Who could have predicted this??
Anyone paying attention, and with a brain told you this would happen: Target Corp. announced Tuesday that it would end healthcare coverage for its part-time workers, citing options available to them in state and federal healthcare marketplaces. In a corporate blog post, the Minneapolis company...
