This is going to be an interesting battle between Minister Ngiraingas and AG Rengiil. One is the type of person who is very assertive and at times even irrational in his reasonings versus a rather quiet and unassuming legally minded person. I think the question is whether the minister approves all of the performance ratings for all of the employees under his department or is this only for this particular individual. Maybe AG Rengiil should find out if there are any inconsistencies within Ngiraingas' department regarding the approval process for job performance evaluation. I thought job performance evaluations are conducted by the employee's immediate supervisor. While we all await VP Marur's action or decision regarding this controversy, it would be very interesting to know if politics would overwhelm common sense and legal procedures....and the beat goes on.....

It is simply beyond common sense to have a so-called state with a population of less than the people living at Choll in Ngaraard with an annual budget of hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is simply a waste of money and now it is misuse of monies. Sometimes these people are so freaking arrogant that they shun their nose at us while abusing tax payers monies. The question now is if there is anyone in the Toribiong administration who have the balls enough to do something about this. Where is the SP when we need him?

Does anyone out there know any latest info regarding the charges that SP filed against Senator Diaz for ethics violation?

While the presumption of innocence is also applicable to Diaz, the fact that the SP has filed a legal action against him represents a very good move on the part of the government that is responsible to enforce the laws of the land. Let us see how the senator would react to this, or would he still be adamant about his belief that he did not violate the Code of Ethics. I am wondering what, if any, is the president of the senate going to do or say regarding this development.

I am wondering how far would this go when Diaz seems to be dictating what the senate should or should not do? The question is whether the senate president would go along with Diaz or not. However, in the final analysis it is the president of the country who has the prerogative to either fire the ombudsman or not. It is interesting to note that over the years Alfonso and Moses have been, at times, the best of friends and, at times, the best of enemies. I guess this is that time when the feeling has shifted to the bitter side.

Omdui, Thank you for finally taking a bold move to ensure that this blog is clean and devoid of unnecessary stuff. I do not mind if the writers disagree on issues as this is very healthy in a democratic society, but what I am concerned about and I have mentioned this several times, is the use of words either Palauan or English that are vulgar and unnecessary. I am hoping that you would be able to really do something about it or that the writers who constantly use such words or phrases would discontinue using them. Sulang,

I think it is fair to give them a chance to show us what they can do or cannot do. At least they are giving us the populace and the voters the opportunity to submit our ideas and suggestions so that they may be considered by the commission. Were there anything like this during the previous administration? TR and BK were somewhat secretive about their actions yet they spent an enormous amount of funds yet nothing concrete came out as a result of their actions. If anyone can tell me what it is that BK did as the Compact Negotiator under TR, then I will shut up.
