The border is breathtaking and so complementary to the portrait. Love it.

Your experience shows us just how fragile life as we know it can be. How would you decide what stays and risks going up in smoke and what you take with only a short amount of notice? Sometimes if we want to live in our own patch of paradise we have to be prepared to lose it or let it go as well. I think I would grab my external hard drive which has all my photos on back up. That way even if my possessions go I would still have the memories.

Pam Holland, you have a very vivid imagination (or way too much time on your hands). As I know it is not the latter then I am assuming your mind ticks over constantly. I would be thrilled if the children in the classes I teach had 1/2 of your creative thoughts. It would never be boring reading their work.

Pam, you are teasing us. I can't wait until the big reveal. Von Schnitzel ... looks like he has had a very big night. Was he at your place for a family gathering?

Keep going, I'm hanging off every word. These are the words which become part of your history. Thank you for sharing them. It is wonderful to know the story behind the quilt and the quilter.

Pam, I am getting that familiar feeling...WOW! My skin is tingling, my head is whirring and I just want to get up and go. I love card making and scrap booking as well as quilting and I would find this kind of project absolutely exhilerating! I can't wait to see the finished project! Do you see it becoming part of a book, framed and displayed, or do you have something else in mind? You fabric stash just blows me away. How exciting. I must put another link on my facebook page!

Welcome home Pam. I have really enjoyed your postings from this trip. Your photos were fantastic and will provide you with many lingering memories. Now I guess it is back to work on your many projects. I'm looking forward to further postings on these.

Pam, what adventures you are having! Oman looks so incredible. Your photos are magical and truly transported me to a far away land - a bit like a magical carpet ride. Those colours are amazing. BTW I have just watched today's post on TQS and saw liitle old you (not so much of the old) on the Road to California Quilt. I loved the clown portrait one of your rather more interesting students did that her rather interesting husband held up. What a hoot! Chris

How on earth do they keep their whites so pristine in a desert environment? This sounds like a very exciting day Pam.
