Great A beautiful $150M stadium designed by a man who wants the taxpayers to pay for it. A 32 year lease with a man who wants to break a thirty year lease of $700m with the city that the team is in now. What a saviour. I trust him as far as the contract he is breaking with the city of Pheonix by declaring bankruptcy there.

Gretzky proves himself to be the GREAT ONE again. Good for him to endorse a deal that keeps the investment of $700m put forth by the tax payers of Pheonix alive. He is truly a man of integrity in this day and age of ruthless profit sharks.

Hockey starved Hamilton fans won't drive 50 miles to Buffalo for cheaper obtainable seats at a franchise that has almost gone bankrupt 3 times. the only sellouts there are leaf games. We aren't hockey fans, we are leaf fans. Now A $30 passport is going to stop more of those so called fans. Bulldogs get no fans. Kitchener's OHL team gets way more. Now he wants government funds for the Arena. Is that like the $700M Pheonix gave and is cheated out of now?

For over thirty years you didn't need a passport to drive 1 hour for cheaper ticket prices to see an NHL game as a Hamiltonian in the "3rd largest market in North America" and it has almost gone under three times, is currently struggling with low attendance and now a 1 time purchase of a $30 passport is the stumbling block. We aren't hockey fans in this area, we are leaf fans. anything else only gets attendance if winning. PHEONIX is in last place and that isn't changing any time soon. also seems like all the players prefer to play on US teams because once again the cup isn't coming north of the border. Kitchener has an OHL team and sells out its 4000 seat arena every night win or lose. Bulldogs have a 17000 seat arena. win championships, are in a higher league and get 1700 seat games a night, not much more in playoffs and those ticket prices are cheap. WE AREN"T HOCKEY FANS, WE ARE LEAF FANS. Now we are going to sign an arena agreement with a man who just bribed owners to declare bankruptcy to get out of a $700m arena agreement with another city.

Doesn't Buffalo have an NHL team? Isn't it less than 1 hour away? Hasn't it almost gone bankrupt 3 times. Why isn't it selling out if Hamiltonians are so hockey starved?
