Pillsbury Dough Boy Dead At 71 Veteran Pillsbury spokesman, Pop N. Fresh, died yesterday of a severe yeast infection. He was 71. Fresh was buried in one of the largest funeral ceremonies in recent years. Dozens of celebrities turned out, including Mrs. Butterworth, The California Raisins, Hungry Jack, Betty Crocker, and The Hostess Twinkies. The graveside was piled high with flours as longtime friend Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy, describing Fresh as a man who “never knew how much he was kneaded.” Fresh rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with many turnovers. "Annuals" mean disappointment once a year. Your lawn is always slightly bigger than your desire to mow it. Whichever garden tool you want is always at the back of the shed. The only way to ensure rain, is to give the garden a good soaking. Weeds grow at precisely the rate you pull them out. Nothing ever looks like it does on the seed packet. Autumn follows summer, winter follows autumn, drought follows planting. The only way to guarantee some color all year round is to buy a garden gnome. However bare the lawn, grass will appear in the cracks... Continue reading

A woman's garden is growing beautifully but the darn tomatoes won't ripen. There's a limit to the number of uses for green tomatoes and she's getting tired of it. So she goes to her neighbor and says, "Your tomatoes are ripe, mine are green. What can I do about it?'' Her neighbor replies, "Well, it may sound absurd but here's what to do. Tonight there's no moon. After dark go out into your garden and take all your clothes off. Tomatoes can see in the dark and they'll be embarrassed and blush. In the morning they'll all be red, you'll... Continue reading

A farmer purchased an old, run-down, abandoned farm with plans to turn it into a thriving enterprise. The fields were grown over with weeds, the farmhouse was falling apart, and the fences were broken down. During his first day of work, the town preacher stops by to bless the man's work, saying, "May you and God work together to make this the farm of your dreams!" A few months later, the preacher stops by again to call on the farmer. Lo and behold, it's a completely different place. The farm house is completely rebuilt and in excellent condition, there is... A new business was opening and one of the owner's friends wanted to send him flowers for the occasion. The flowers arrived at the new business site and the owner read the card: "Rest in Peace." The owner was very angry, to say the least, and called to complain."Sir, I'm really sorry for the mistake, and sorry you were offended," said the florist. "But even worse, somewhere there is a funeral taking place today, and they have flowers with a note saying, "Congratulations on your new location." Continue reading

February 20, 2007 Re: Blossomflorists.com I ordered a deluxe floral arrangement (69.95) from this "local flower shop" for a Valentines Day delivery for my wonderful girlfriend. No flowers were ever delivered. I was never notified. When I called the day after, 2/15/07, a representative took my information and told me someone would call me back. No one has. Today (2/20/07), I called the number on the website again, same thing. The representative took my information and gave me a number to call... 713-664-0889.
