As you get older you need less sleep but feel more tired more often. See what you have to look forward to at 49?

It appears you've found something else for which you have a talent. I've always thought beer making was harder than wine making, at least to make something truly good. The only part that's harder is waiting longer for the results. And cleanliness is massively important. Put some photos up of your equipment. I'd love to see it.

Unfortunately, thinking like these horrible and laughable tracts is at the heart of the problems with evangelical conservatives today in America and elsewhere. If you wonder where people like Bachmann got her start proselytizing, look no further than these tracts and the support people who liked them gave her. It's people like this that are used by others who have gotten themselves rich on others to push for ridiculous, human rights denying agendas and they have both money and power now in our government. In short, because stuff like this was not snuffed out back when we all thought it was just illogical, prejudiced, uneducated crap, we have reams of people causing things such as the housing bubble and preventing others from getting married and thinking dominionism is the way we must run our country. We can still laugh at this horrible crap but too many people in power with lots of money think like this.

The official report from my 9 year old is "it's a good Halloween horror story." I'll know tomorrow if it was nightmare enducing.

My six year old, to whom this will NOT be read, has my mom, his grandma, read this every trip she takes with us. He loves that Sesame Street book. God, how I miss Jim Henson!

Oh, and it does remind me of one of those 80s monster tv shows that I think you actually guest starred on once or twice. Nice work.

I'll see if my 9 year old likes it and try to remember to post his response. I don't think I'll read it to my six year old just yet.

Enjoyed it! And I was glad to see "nothin' could be finer" Spiner again.

How does one find out, if not contacted by the object of the letter, if he ever read it? As for long memories, that's true if they have a bent towards history and uberfans are a bit crazy, like the word's root implies, they are fanatics. Glad I'm not one. But I do have an interest in history. Thus I remember Bill Buckner but as an Orioles fan, remember Weaver leaving in Stanhouse WAYYYYYY too long versus the Pirates and thus loosing us the world series. The point is, we only remember the things that were important to us, not all things sports related. The memory is selective, and much like Sherlock Holmes, we get to choose what to stick in there and ignore all else lest things get overcrowded.

Hahaha! Good quote.

Holly shade of Bill Buckner, Batman! I hope your life continues to go well too and that Bartman's is okay now too. (I keep seeing Bart Simpson in a cape when reading Bartman.) All fame is fleeting but vilification lasts longer.

I agree with the others here. Well said. I don't like the positions Apple took and through extension him wrt personal rights but he was a innovator like very few the world has ever had. I found his Stanford speech interesting when he said M$ copied Apple. Seeing as they both copied Xerox PARC it was a bit one sided and self serving. I guess I should expect nothing less from any uber business person. But machts nichts. It seems at home, once he settled down, he was pretty much just like any other person and it would have been fun to have a beer or two (or whatever) with him. Sorta like you.

He's working on writing more than just personal memoirs and such. His own fiction, which he's only just started creating. What you say is a compliment but it kinda, a little, come off as the opposite. Just sayin'.

So, what was the resort/hotel you stayed at? No, I'm not a stalker, not that me typing that is reassuring, but my wife and I want to visit Hawaii sometime and are curious about places to stay. Was it affordable to the common man or is this pricey and if you have to ask, you can't afford it?

My friend and I brewed some hoppy stout last weekend and added about a gallon too much water. The dry hopping didn't work well either but we can throw some in a day or so before bottling. He uses CO2 canisters to carbonate it and puts the brew into used soda 1 or 2 litre bottles. He has these little screw on tops that allow him to put in CO2 under pressure then he just pops the connector off and leaves the cap with the valve on. It saves on getting glass bottle but you have to drink a little more over one or two days lest it get flat on you. Also, enjoyed your limping work on the Eureka season finally. My wife didn't see your cane at first. It happens that's the type of cane she was using after he ankle injury, not that that's an uncommon type now. We're still both disappointed a) we have to wait a year for the next season bar the Christmas episode and b) that next season is the (rushed) last. I don't like people who make decisions based on only their pocket books when running a company and I suspect none do but those making the big bucks. I hope that you and the others will find equally enjoyable and profitable work to do.

E-B, I believe, is what gives you mononucleosis. Apparently, this can stick around in some people and cause further problems rather than just the one-time mono infection. Not fun, but I can think of worse things. I agree with your stance given your medical history and the crowds that exists at GenCon. So, what's the dividing line between "just being cautious" and being O. C. about germs? Hope you never find out. Can anyone figure out why this won't get the full google info on my id info? It's suppose to be gmknobl with a nice image of gollum but it's just this nasty random accounts info in the link instead. Oh well. Been to gencon once looooooong ago when Dragon Magazine was still around and people still knew TSR stood for Tactical Studies Rules (or some such). Don't think I'll go back again. 'Sides, Gygax can't come no more.

My wife and I were both befuddled by how a network - any network - can let such a fun show go away. I've been reading your blog for a very long time, since around 2002 or thereabouts. It's nice to see how you have grown as a writer, an actor and blogger since then, getting over hard times and coming through to do well. As I tip a home brew tonight, check the comments on my home brew computer and go to my six year old's first cub scout meeting (he signed himself up without telling us!) I'll be thinking of you having your own beer - or Guinness - and toasting to the end of a good show. Sisyphus (Ahem - that sy station) won't have me to watch them anymore.

Congrats from one part-time brewer to another. My your pumpkin be pumpkinny and with lots of the desired spices complimenting the pumpkin, malt and hops. (We've tried but never quit gotten there ourselves.) On a side note, see if you can grab Terrapin's pumpkin ale and Weyerbacher's and Bells'. They are all quite tasty and make me want to eat pumpkin pie with them.

I wish microbrews could be sold this way. No more worrying about 1, 2, 3 or 4 and it could get rid of the evil distributor middlemen who take much of the profit these days.

So, Comcast is at fault. I'm not surprise and am chagrined by my mention of their TechTV ruination on this forum. Can anyone doubt that such big mergers are bad for society, anti-American, anti-Freedom, and especially anti-spreading-the-wealth? Yes, but only if you're the uber-rich and are in on the take. All such mergers should be stopped and should have been for the last 20 some years but the fix is in, which is why they haven't been stopped. And unless you're uber-rich, the fix isn't for you! Syfy - you suck. Comcast - you're evil.

Let me add my best to the cast and crew. I really wish you had full 22(+) episode seasons and not split up seasons that make watching it more frustrating. You guys along with many other past SCI-FI and fantasy shows pioneered by the (original) network have been a highlight for me and my family. I look forward to seeing many of these same actors elsewhere.

Wil, It has been fun to watch you and Eureka. SCI-FI has supported many worthwhile, fun to watch, intelligent SCI-FI and fantasy shows throughout the years. What happened to the network? Was it taken over by some greedy neocon jerks? For whatever reason, we now have a network that insults its audience, puts worthless crap on the air that caters to the lowest levels of human existence. These people are bad people and should have the network taken from them, removing their livelihood in much the way they put others out of work. They network should then be drawn and quartered, figuratively, along with the head of the network and his sycophants. The only lower people are corporate neocon robber barons (there's a lot of them around now) and not by much. After the network is dismantled, much like ZDNet/TechTV, then another will come along, whether that be traditional or internet (if the corporations haven't monopolized the that), and once more support quality programming. Frankly, we are worth more than any corporate low-lifes like those at SyFy now. We deserve better, and in the fullness of time, we'll get it and they'll get their comeuppance.

Glad you're having a good time. It's nice to see. Sorry you had to bump into weirdos. I never understood the fascination with autographs or pushing to get to someone. I'd much rather just have a beer and a chat but that takes time most don't usually have.

Here's something to try -- if you dare! When you know you'll meet her or someone else at a location only a few miles away, see if you can take your bike to your morning destination, maybe even with a drop off. Then you can bike to your evening destination and chuck the bike in the back your ride's car/truck/whatever so you don't have to ride in the evening. I realize I'm revealing my east-coast, small town way of moving around.
