Some notes renewing ur driver's license here at SM. - get a form for drug/medical checkup from the guard. mostly standing outside. - fill it up, then submit with ur license id - wait for ur name to be calld, then pay 400 pesos, this is step 1 - step 2: medical interview, weight and height - step 3: urine sample, yes drinks some fluids before step 1 so u can take a piss right away - then wait around for step 4, they will get ur fingerprint and photo - after which, wait for ur papers to be released - elapsed time? I got here 11am, and it's already 4pm as i write this, and it's still not done. - the wait happens waiting for step 1 and 4 - and yes, this is just for the drug and medical certificate, the actual license renewal happens after gettng ur papers. - for me, i'm going back monday for another set of waiting, waiting and waiting Continue reading

Last last week (Sept. 16, 2009), I joined Tabong in preparing for his upcoming pre-nuptial photo shoot which would happen a week after. The couple would arrive in two days from the US where they are already based to have their church wedding in Cebu, Philippines. It was sort of a short notice pre-nuptial and wedding photo coverage. I might say quite a limited time to plan and conceptualize the pre-nuptial photo shoot. But nevertheless, being a photographer for almost 3 decades, he can easily see what couples like and what ideas or concepts couples can get comfortable with. I... Continue reading

I'm Rose Buenconsejo, a big fan of Tabong. I will be the voice of this web blog which hopes to give you behind-the-scenes of a Cebu photographer's life, Narciso 'Tabong' Buenconsejo. I am always fascinated with an artist's passion. With Tabong, I am amazed at how he could lovingly talk about photography. How he captured emotions and drama in his pictures are things that always keep him different from other photographers. So I am pretty excited in getting him online. Follow me in this artistic journey. Continue reading

Recently, i started asking applicants to our company if they know how their previous company made money. If yes, then if they had known it when they joined that company. Then, i go on if they have an idea how we make money? I ask this because i would like to know if they have an idea what they got themselves in to. If they are just following someone else advice, or just saw or heard it somewhere, or if they made a conscious decision to be part of our company, and if how we earn is part of that decision. Of course, money should not be the only reason we join a company. However, knowing how the company earns can help us determine where the position we are applying for fits in the overall company strategy. It gives us an idea how we can be more effective in our work and contribute more where it matters most. How about, asking ourselves now and the company we are working for, How does it make money? And how our efforts affect that? Continue reading

Teach them to learn how to grow plants. You can start with your own backyard and teach them to value life and how fragile it is and how a lot of people take it for granted.
