ZQ looks especially great with the colours dark blue and purple. They have some sort of marvellous coordination with his complexion.

Rawwr! I knew there was a reason I checked in here today! Cute, funny, LOL.

I think it's Woodstock Chimes who make a large selection of excellent, musical, and lovely-to-look-at windchimes. They're not usually for sale in Walgreen's but in New Age stores. They actually have the musical notes etched into the central piece of wood that catches the wind, so you can really pick and choose!
Hope you find a harmonious set which soothes your soul.

I am sure I got a few puzzled looks as I rummaged through the windchime display at Walgreens today, testing almost every set. I like windchimes, but am very picky about what I get. There has to be a chord, the sound has to have the right resonance, and the chimes themselves must not be vulgar or ...
It took me a full minute before I realised what I was looking at ... Heffalump Cat had me fooled! LOL

1. Movie: Gone With The Wind - Mammy, because she is the coolest, and she's never afraid to tell Miz Scarlett where to get off.
2. Play: Cats - JennyAnyDots, because she has the neatest name
3. Movie: Mary Poppins - the guy who likes to go fly kites, because he flies
4. TV show: True Blood - IDK
5. Movie: Harry Potter - either Luna Lovegood or the professor with really thick glasses who predicts the future [coz she's a nutter]
6. Movie: Twilight - noooooooooooooooooo Like Sunfell I will substitute Star Trek. And I'd probably be Dr. McCoy [because I'll sound off to anybody within hearing distance] but would love to be Uhura, because she's a BAMF and she's so close to Spock. And she gets to kiss Spock. And ... [comments redacted]
7. Movie: Titanic - I really don't know.
8. TV show: The X-Files - Mulder, because "I want to believe."
9. TV show: The Office - Pam, because I identify with secretaries
10. Play: Angels in America - Louis. Not only is he the "lowest of the low" -- a word processor -- at the courthouse where he works, he over-analyzes everything and over-intellectualizes everything to keep from acknowledging responsibilities ... and he talks a mile a minute, yaddada yaddada yaddada ...

Schnippie, You will love it, and the journey will be filled with your feelings of anticipation! The play is great, and your patience will be rewarded -- ZQ is absolutely great in it!
I hope you'll also get to enjoy NYC as well!
Avoid the restaurants around Times Square ... high "tourist prices" are in effect. Search online for more reasonable and delicious alternatives. There's a great soup, salad, and sandwich place two or three blocks north of Penn Station on 7th Ave. And Starbuck's, everywhere, sells nice coffee and breakfast breads. Also if you want a good pizza, go to John's Pizza, in Greenwich Village, on Bleecker Street near 7th Ave. For soup and salad dinner, Le Pain Quotidien, somewhere near the theatre, maybe at 8th Avenue? sorry my memory's not better, had nice organic greens and more.
Don't eat the hotel breakfast--well, at least, our hotel wanted $29 US *each* for breakfast!!! Outrrrageous!

I wish those of us in the US had more power options. It all depends on our local power companies, or one's ability to afford solar panels [and a house to put them on].
But I am with you 100% SteffiG.

I'm afraid I thought, "Which one's supposed to be Zach?" Oh, dear! Hirschfeld would have done so much better. Or Blitt, or Risko. Alas ...
Pretty good caricatures of Borle and Heck, tho'.

And, P.S., Thank you FenRaven, for posting the reviews. I thought they would be superb, and I'm glad they were.
Also a big thanks to Zachary Quinto, who is a very polite, sweet gentleman, for his kindness when I met him!

He was soooo fantastic in the production. I felt so blessed to be able to be there [and many thanks to my bff John, who sponsored our 25th friendship anniversary trip to NYC from Tallahassee!] ... for John and I, who lived through the time period of the play [1985-1990] in NYC, it was a memory-laden trip ... we recalled our anger with Reagan, our vengeful satisfaction at Cohn's demise, our regular contributions to the organization Gay Men's Health Crisis, and John's having to remain closeted about his sexuality [we were both in the US Coast Guard]. There was much gallows humor in the play to which we also related, and Kushner's words, as acted by Quinto and company, went right to the heart of every issue.
The part of Louis Ironson is so central to the play that I couldn't help paying my respects to Zachary first, when I spoke at the "talk-back," but the players in the ensemble were all excellent, especially Billy Porter, as Belize, and Christian Borle, as the jilted lover, Prior, who, against his will, becomes a prophet.

1. Got no idea--when I visited 2 yrs. ago they seemed to be around every other corner.
2. No. Did spot Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor in an Italian coffeehouse in Greenwich Village once, about 23 years ago.
3. Yes. Hot, small, copper, and fascinating to look at. Climbing is an act of determination.
4. "Sleepless in Seattle."
5. Away.
6. Either attending a public concert, opera or play, or lying on the grass, soaking up rays, intermittently enjoying delicacies from a NY deli.
7. Fort Jay, on Governor's Island, in NY Harbor.
8. The Big Apple you mean?
9. 2,800 appx.
10. New Amsterdam.

Kathryn Hays played "Gem" in TOS Star Trek episode, "The Empath."
And thanks, dear, for posting! That Sandburg poem is so applicable to San Francisco--the fog comes tumbling thru the Golden Gate almost every evening.

That is a SCREAM! I don't get to see TV except when I'm from home or signed into Hulu.com, so it was fun to see this

I'll bet President Obama was equally thrilled. He's a not-so-secret Star Trek geek himself! (And I'll bet he got a kick out of that composite pic of him as a Vulcan.)
What a great b'day present for you, though, getting to meet him. I love that you supported his candidacy. You are the best! Many happy returns in this coming year, and may your life be safe from the negative aspects of superstardom.

ps--The "rich inner life" of ZQ that Mr Nimoy referred to in the interview shows in ZQ's gaze (all colours of emotion) and in his total expressive bodily "through-line," if you will, when he is performing. And, of course, in his delightful and insightful interviews.
