Collaging. I played around in Photoshop this past weekend. I want to art journal but I much prefer working in Photoshop than using paper and paint (yes, I know) so I made some digital collages. On this one I drew the lines using my Bamboo pen and then drew path lines so that the text would follow the drawn lines. I think it came out pretty good. The woman is a stamp which was scanned and blown up. The font is Stacy's Hand. On the one below the paper background (minus the music sheet) is from Journal Girl. Perusing her... Continue reading

We eat boneless chicken breasts every week, both because they are reasonably healthy and because I like chicken breasts. I'm always on the lookout for interesting recipes and I found a bunch on the New York Times website. The first one I tried (well, Wayne actually made the dish) was the Crispy Stuffed Chicken Breasts with Ham, Cheese and Sauerkraut. They were very, very good. While it looks like we're eating on a wrinkly old sheet it is actually a wrinkly old tablecloth. Wayne decided a white tablecloth would look nice. Yeah, right, especially after the black cat decided to... Continue reading

I haven't posted here in awhile. I guess I'm too busy with my new toys. Friday I bought a Polaroid PoGo printer. It's lots of fun. Megan wants one now. I bought it to use when I go on vacation so that I can keep a travel journal. In the meanwhile, I'm putting the pictures in my regular journal, the one I never do anything with, so possibly this little toy will inspire me to do more of this type of journaling. The other discovery I made this weekend was that there are all sorts of neat applications for playing... Continue reading

Quiche for dinner! Not exactly diet food, but good. I made it with a crust this time but I think I prefer it crustless. I sort of used an Emeril Lagasse recipe. However I used a frozen pie crust and for the filling: 4 strips of bacon, cut into 1/2" pieces 1 cup grated cheddar cheese 4 eggs 1 1/4 cups light cream Pinch of kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper Freshly grated nutmeg Bake the pie crust for 15-20 at 375 degrees. Let cool while you cook the bacon. Sprinkle cooked bacon and cheese over the bottom of the... Continue reading
