I would certainly put my little guy in it; in maybe a brown or navy?
A Little Giveaway
This picture was taken on the last nice day we had here in the Middle West. Good thing we enjoyed it! In honor of spring coming (soon please!), and my new pattern, I'm having a little giveaway for two copies of the "Aubrey" vest. It's the perfect spring layer for my girl, and I'm working ...
Yes, love is what holds it all together, isn?
Yarn Along
On the needles: a new design, my first in multiple sizes (eek!), so it's been a challenge! But one of my goals for this year is to push myself beyond what I can already do. So here goes! And I'm reading.... you all are going to get a good laugh here.... Making the "Terrible" Twos Terrific:)...
Oh, I cant wait to start making doll clothes!
Bright Spots
A little look into how our week was. Hard. Illness in my children throws me completely off balance, especially the spiked-fever, croupy-sounding attack at 1:30 a.m. variety. Back to back days of doctor's visits, and some antibiotics later, we're (very) slowly recovering. Hats off to y...
I Love! your great new sweater!

Thanks for the encouragement! I wish it had been as simple as a growth spurt, but unfortunately, Id been down this road with our first child, and I didnt want to go months of under-nourishment before starting a supplement. I think I may have found some answers with this book, and am anxious to talk to my midwives about it; sounds like it could be a hormonal issue (as my husband says, just what you need, more hormones:)). Hoping for the best with #3, but at the very least we get 6 great months of nursing to remember!
Yarn Along
On the needles: I am in the process of designing a new pattern, one that has been in mind for about two years now. I look forward to sharing it if it's a success! In the library: Reading Making More Milk, (thrilling huh?) a recommended guide from La Leche League about increasing your milk s...
Thank you!
Yarn Along
Joining www.gsheller.com this morning for a "Yarn Along." A Little Mabel sweater by Sublime for the Little Girl. I am very pleased with how it's turning out! Just have to finish the ribbings and button bands, and she'll have it in time for Epiphany! Little Guy has a somewhat co-ordinating...

The Madtosh is pretty amazing stuff; a treat to work with.

Ah, the tropics. How lovely that sounds!
Baby Legs
My little ones have been in sore need of some legwarmies to keep their skin warm between their pants and socks. I knit these up for the girl using this pattern. They're perfect, and I'm saving all my sock yarn scraps to make some long pairs for the new baby. Plus, I may need to get to work...
Thanks Jennifer! I really love the color too.
One Month
One month ago today I finished this shawl. For Advent this year I decided to try something new to help me be more mindful of the season: an Advent Calendar Knit-A-Long. It was really amazing. It brought quiet and reflection to the weeks before Christmas, while I created this gorgeous, and ...
Great idea with the clotheslines; as you add more, you can cull the old stuff. It seems sad to throw away any art, but its really only practical to keep a few things from each age. I just remind myself, its not so much about the finished product, its about what theyre learning in the process, and that can never get thrown away!
Art with toddlers
I find doing art with my son somewhat scary, because of potential mess, but very worthwhile. He enjoys the process, and I try to be hands-off and let him explore the way he wants. Which in most cases, is not what I had envisioned. We're slowly finding our way with new materials and techniq...
Yes! We are indeed expecting #3 in June!
Epiphany Sweaters
The kids each got a new sweater for Epiphany: a Pebble vest for Little Guy, and a Mabel (Rav link) for the little girl. My apologies for the photos; overcast Midwest winters + unstoppable babies = blurry pictures. I hope this will be a yearly tradition; we'lll see how that goes as number...
Thanks Erin
Doesn't this look yummy? It was. And is.... Pints...
Doesn't this look yummy? It was. And is.... Pints of blueberries were on sale for $1 each, so husband and I went a little crazy, and he made this pie. Impressive, huh? I'm making progress on the girl's fall wardrobe: A Fiona Top was completed, and I'm crossing my fingers it still fits b...
Thanks Jenni; it was a really fun knit!
tweedy tea leaves
It's finished, and I love it! The Tea Leaves Cardigan in Rowan Felted Tweed made a light and airy wool sweater perfect for spring and fall. And, a pattern for a tiny version was just released, so I feel the little girl and I will be matching soon. The yarn is a little thinner weight than w...
I will have to look for that song. I suspect it teaches them about their colors?
An art area of his own
My goal for the weekend was to finally set Little Guy up with an art studio. Art has been such an important influence and joy in my life, and I've been looking forward to sharing it with my children for a long time now. Since the boy is now moving and exporing, I thought it was time ...
It is a beautiful thing to see children be creative with materials. One of the things I miss most about teaching art.

Thank you all for your kind compliments!
Summer Rain Shawl
I finished this shawl in the early morning with both babies still asleep and a thundershower and cup of coffee to keep me company. It was bliss:) The pattern is the Aestlight Shawl, by Gudrun Johnston, and a fun knit. Not a quick one however (this one was started before Christmas), with ...
Its Koigu Painters Palette Premium Merino; absolutely wonderful to work with.
at the weekend
We did a little relaxing, a little baking, and then a little celebrating of a special aunt's birthday. Strawberries are in season, and we are making the most of them! What are you enjoying as summer begins?
