Join us for our Annual Election Day Pancake Festival and celebrate the end of this election season! We will be serving all you can eat Pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage for $5.00 each, with coffee, tea, milk, juice or water. This years enthusiastic co-chairs are Sarah MacLeod, a Monroe-Woodbury Student, and Robert Adams, Jr., a member of the CMHS board and Cornerstone Lodge. Join us for our annual 5K race and Oktoberfest! Registration for the 5K is available by going to www.mcgarrahsfamily5k.com. We race around the beautiful Goosepond in the Center of Monroe. Whether you are in it to test your speed or just in it for fun, it promises to be a fun event. Walkers and runners of all ages are welcome. The participants also get a T-shirt with an original Octoberfest 5K run design (shown to the left), and a free all-you-can eat ticket to the Octoberfest. Meet Santa at McGarrah's Inn on Saturday December 9th, from 10 AM to 4PM. The address is 300 Stage Road in Monroe, NY, which is on the Corner of Stage Road and Maple Street. This event is free, however we will be charging $15.00 for a color print in an attractive photo card frame. If you would like an additional picture, the cost is just $5.00 extra. We've decked the halls for Santa who will be stopping by McGarrah’s Inn on December 12th 2015, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to visit and get a photo taken with Santa. Our decked halls are a great backdrop for your family picture. We've freshly painted and decorated for the occasion. The Cornerstone Masonic Historical Society and Cornerstone Lodge 711 is having a Pancake Festival on November 3rd from 7am to 7pm. Come see the amazing transformation of the historic rooms and browse our historic collections. Members from the Cornerstone Masonic Lodge 711 and the Historical Society are reaching out to the public for donations to help residents caught in recent severely flooded areas. Volunteers from World Wide Relief Alliance are driving a truck to South Carolina filled with items needed by the victims of this terrible flood. CMHS is helping out by offering our property as a drop off point for goods that will be driven down to the South Carolina Emergency Services offices. The Cornerstone Masonic Historical Society is hosting an all-day Pancake Breakfast at McGarrah’s Inn on 300 Stage Road in Monroe, NY. The event will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m, on the Election Day, November 4th, 2014. All party affiliations welcome. Come celebrate the end of the political campaigns with us! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the dozen members & friends of Cornerstone Masonic Historical Society who participated in the "Monroe Clean Sweep" on April 26. At 8 AM we had bagels and coffee, picked up our green clean-up shirts and garbage bags with other Monroe volunteers and then reported to McGarrah's Stagecoach Inn Museum where we raked leaves, fertilized plants, cleaned up the kitchen and office, and cleaned out the basement rooms of 15 years of clutter. We finished the morning with delicious hot dogs and sauerkraut provided by Doug MacKenzie. Thanks again to all who made the... Continue reading

I mean it when I say that I hit the brakes to admire this building. it is the only house I have ever seen that has a simulated thatched roof…a cutting edge style to make the Tudor Revival cottages built in the early 1900’s look more like cottages…very sweet. I took this picture last fall on my way to an event that was a little out of the way from where I normally trek. Anyway, this style is one of my favorite revival styles at the turn of the century. Join us as we participate in the Monroe Clean-Sweep program to make our town and village a cleaner place to live and work. We begin, with other groups from Monroe, on Saturday, April 26 at 8 AM at St. Anastasia Church, Rt. 17M,for coffee and bagels, pick up a tee shirt and junk bags and proceed to clean up along Stage Rd and Maple St. Then we spruce up the grounds of McGarrah's Stagecoach Inn, do some cleaning inside, enjoy a hot dog lunch about 11 AM. SAFE launched “Say YES to Egypt” campaign three years ago in response to the frightening news about the looting and destruction of Egypt’s cultural heritage. Their goal was to raise awareness about the situation and show solidarity for the people in Egypt.
