People have asked me on so many occasions "Wendy, why don't you run your photography business anymore?" "Why don't you make children's clothes and bows and open up that store again?" Well here it is everyone I am about as grounded as a Star* My spirit is so wild that sometimes I feel like I will burst if I don't shoot across the sky Even though most times I end up bouncing from Moon to Moon My mind is like a silent film strip that is constantly being cut and edited Adding new pieces but never really completing the movie I want to do everything and see everything All at once If you were to look into any one of my creative spaces at home You would find the start of a dozen books and stories Half painted masterpieces and penciled sketches in half empty sketch books Scattered all over the house Stacks of fabrics and patterns that are partially sewn plants waiting to be planted creations waiting to become complete books to finish reading trips longing to be taken dreams hoping to become realized and all of them wanting so desperately to be Patiently waiting for the moment I pass back by and breathe into them that last bit of imagination that will bring them completely to life I lie in bed at night (which usually does not happen until around 2 or 3am) and like a roaring river images and ideas fill every part of my head and keep me awake until exhaustion finally pulls me under And then I have my 4 Wild hearts Each pulling me in different directions all at once They are the beats that drown out all the other madness and create a Wonderfully Mad world all their own grasping each hand and waiting for me to lead them on new adventures daily or see what they have conjured up in their own wild imaginations So happily I have to admit that I have absolutely no idea what tomorrow may bring (or what the next hour may bring for that matter) Completely unknown A Wonderfully Mad Enigma Continue reading

Since it has been many days since we last visited with each other I thought a recap of those great happenings that have taken place since we last met would be a good place to start back up. A quick catch up to get us back together *************** “Please, sir, I want some more.” ― Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist My Hatters and I attended Dickens on the Strand in Galveston “Your tale is of the longest," observed Monks, moving restlessly in his chair. It is a true tale of grief and trial, and sorrow, young man," returned Mr. Brownlow, "and such tales usually are; if it were one of unmixed joy and happiness, it would be very brief.” ― Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist The sun,--the bright sun, that brings back, not light alone, but new life, and hope, and freshness to man--burst upon the crowded city in clear and radiant glory. Through costly-coloured glass and paper-mended window, through cathedral dome and rotten crevice, it shed its equal ray.” ― Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist “People like us don't go out at night cause people like them see us for what we are” ― Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist “Fan the sinking flame of hilarity with the wing of friendship; and pass the rosy wine.” ― Charles Dickens, The Old Curiosity Shop Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childhood days, recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth, and transport the traveler back to his own fireside and quiet home! Can you hear the giggles? Let us follow the merry laughter Where are we going? Oh goodness me Where are my manners Welcome to our Halloween Soiree Hosted by our Dear friend Miss Vanessa over at A Fanciful Twist Tonight dear friends As the large moon rises high into the night sky and the chill of the crisp autumn breeze starts to kiss the tips of our noses, I thought we would adventure deep into the forests of Wonderland We shall frolic amongst the creatures of the night Come now....Hurry along The laughter leads the way You dont want to fall behind The woods are very dark and very full of all sorts of mischievious characters this Halloween evening. There it is Just beyond that group of trees. The fireflies will light our way The ghost and goblins have already arrived such Spooky Ghosties And Gouly Goblins Have some treats and settle in amongst the pumpkins I think I will take a seat right here And I think I would love some candy corn before I begin my tale ***************** Now it is time for a Ghost story..... This is the tale of Michael and Nicholas. They were twin brothers around eight years old when they stumbled down the rabbit hole and found there way to Wonderland Michael and Nicholas were very spirited young souls and were known to get themselves swept away in spectacular adventures Once arriving in Wonderland the two youngsters decided to head for the woods of the Jabberwocky They had plans to hide up high in the trees and jump onto his back when he passed under them. The two boys never saw the Jabberwocky that day but they did have the most amazing time jumping through the treetops Tossing acorns at some of the fantastical fairies that flew by all in good sport of course.. Fairies can be pretty mischievious themselves so they joined in tossing acorns back Yes Michael and Nicholas were like two peas in a pod peanut butter and jelly tea and sugar They never were apart Thick as thieves those two were They had a bond no one could break and there in would lie the tragedy While high up in one especially grand Oak berry tree Nicholas saw a rare bright red Lokiberry flower You could lick the petals and become invisible for hours It was too much of a temptation to resist Nicholas and Michael had almost made it to the flower when the branch below Michaels foot gave way CRACK Michael who was holding up Nicholas lost his footing and fell causing Nicholas to fall as well Michael caught a branch with one hand and Nicholas with the other Michael knew he could not hold on to both and so did his brother, Nicholas "Let me go Michael If not we both are going to fall" Michael knew he could not live without Nicholas He looked into his brother's eyes as the branch started to crack "Where you... Dearest Miss V, It was you that inspired me to start my own pumpkin patch. I was always going to the pumpkin patches and the stores in the fall, and people thought I was crazy because me and the little hatters would just feel up the basket with pumpkins. Then I saw your patch and thought maybe I could create my own fairytale patch I am going on three years now, and even though I have had about three different patches, they always remind me of you and your little pumpkin babies. Its funny cause everyone of my family members thinks I am completely hilarious, because I have pumpkins growing all over the property in different areas. I just keep setting pumpkins all around and when they rot, I smush them up with the dirt and see if they will start growing in the spot I had put them in. Its kind of exciting just to see where they will pop up next. I especially love all the curly cue vines. What a sweet and exciting giveaway from Eleni. Just Wonderful. Hugs and scratches behind the ears to your furry babies, and kiss, kiss, hug, hug, to you. Have fun decorating with the pumpkin babies, and I hope to see and hear more from your lovely garden soon. Wishes and Whimsy Wendy from Wonderland
Dearest Miss V, She absolutely makes me smile and want to fly through the air around my home pretending that I could do such things. In my dreams I could fly like this. Everything on it is wonderfully and magically perfect. You inspire me everytime I open the tiny door to your world. I meant to tell you I was able to sneak a magic key that would get me to your side of Wonderland. hehehe. I love her and her enchanted Zebralicious friend. I am off to dance through the rooms in my socks and pretend I am flying on her string of stars. Thank you so much for painting your dreams, because they inspire mine. Dearest Miss V, I absolutely love thunder storms. They are just perfectly exciting. I get really scared sometimes but being a mommy makes you also really strong. Like you could handle any kind of weather to protect your little ones. Even furry ones. But is awfully exciting to think that you are a captain of a ship being tossed and thrown by the waves at sea. I know I am rambling. What I really wanted to say mostest was...I cannot stop full out laughing at Miles. So soooo funny. He needs to join me for a circus adventures. He would fit in perfectly. The twinkling stars like candles light Bring sparkle to an enchanted night Where fairies play and frolic wild And the song haunts the forest of the Evening child ***** She kicks her bare feet through the falling leaves And the creatures of the forest follow to the jingle of her tamborine ***** The large red cap of the forest toadstool Becomes the most spectacular stage The Fairies gather round and the Brownies take seats amongst the large tree stumps ***** She begins her dance hopping from mushroom to mushroom What a spectacular sight she is to behold ***** She is as wild and free as the music she plays "Is she enchantress, witch, or spirit?" The townfolk whisper She is only the Toadstool Gypsy an evening child of the forest ***** I would love to introduce you to my newest creation This is the Toadstool Gypsy She is definitely a creature of the Other Side of Wonderland With her Enchanted music and her Haunting voice She plays for all of us here through the darkest parts of the evening Just when the sun starts to sizzle on the tops of the trees and everything in the Enchanted woods starts to turn that faded red and orange color that seems to swallow the trees, then the bushes, and then the floors of the forest That is when you want to find your seat. And then open your ears and just Listen ***** (prints and postcards will be in my Etsy shop soon) ********************* A Tea Party Giveaway Winner chosen by: Miniature Hatter Generator. Dearest Miss V Oh dear me. It took me awhile and I am soooo very Sorry. But that furriest of Rabbits did get his tail caught between me and the door and it took us all sorts of twists and turns before we could finally get loose, but we made it here, and I am sooo very happy and delighted. It is Most Scrumptiously Wonderfully Wonderful. As usual. You have created such a Lovely Tea party dream. The table is just beautiful and the chairs. Well I did pick my favorite and took a seat. And you know me. I am all about the Sweets. Of which you made so many that I could hardly choose, so I must say I had a few. Yes A few too many. I think I had a bite of every kind. Oh I love the coconut macaroons. My fave. Oh I am floating in tea. Goodness me. The hatter had some wonderful jokes and your little furry baby just kept me in giggles. His music was delightful and I am truly swept off my feet. No really. Literally I had to have Alice lift me off the ground. Thank goodness I wore my best stripey tights. You know the ones with minimal holes. I seem to get so many in my stockings running and frolicking from tea party to tea party. Well I am off to see what other sorts of Mad antics I can wiggle myself into. I so will try to stay upright....Well most of the time anyway. Thank you so much for inviting me and also letting me join in your delicious soiree. Dearest Miss V, I am so excited to see you moving in to the cottage and getting it all prettied up. What a wonderfully mysterious and enchanting little place. I love curling up with a good ghost story to the rain. The peaches look scrumptious. We planted a few peach and plum trees this year for the first time. We only had one lone peach tree survive, but that little tree gifted us with 12 yummy peaches. The little hatters loved picking them and most of all eating them. Yummy! I tried to leave a message on the Tea Party link but I do not know if it saved, so could you include me on the list of tea party participants. I know I am a little late joining, but I am looking so forward to it http://candydelane.typepad.com/curiosities/ Wishes and Whimsy Wendy from Wonderland

Makes everything so much more fun I spent the day covered in paint and all sorts of glitter and thought that maybe I would make a new windchime I would love to share my shiny new treat with you It arrives just in time for a spectacular tea party Yes soon Miss V. from A Fanciful Twist will be hosting her Lovely and Magical Annual Tea Party. Of course being the head of a Mad Hatter Secret Society of my Own, and also living on the Other Side of Wonderland. I must join in the fun every year. She is soooo very wonderful and her parties are just Delicious So make sure to stop by for a Spoonful of Mad Tea **************************** Now for our Whimsical Glitter Spoon Windchime It is really quite simple All you will need is some elmers glue an assortment of your favorite colored glitter(I used Martha Stewerts line) but any would do. I would think the finer would adhere better though Then some old spoons. Thread or fishing wire a wire hanger or other type of hanger and other embellishments to your liking Here we go First bend your spoon to be able to tie the thread to it also it looks more whimsical this way Next coat the fat part of the spoon with glue I just smear on with my fingers Next sprinkle the glitter all over the spoon and tap off the excess Yes this a fairy bottle of glitter. It does have wings. It loves to fly around though and dust the entire room or my head with glitter quite often. Mischievious little one Let dry while you finish the other spoons Then take a coathanger or other circular object. I guess you could use a stick or straight rod as well. It just depends on the look you want I covered my hanger with some leftover tinsel stars that I had from Christmas Next take three strands of thread and attach at different areas on the hanger This is going to be what hangs it from the ceiling or wherever else you would like Attach each spoon with a line of thread to the hanger. Let them hang at different levels for more interest. Then just have fun with whatever else you want to add I added a butterfly and some more tinsel stars climbing up the hanging threads, and a little more around the top of each spoon Maybe later I will add some crystals and more sparkly things. But for now it is looking lovely hanging on my backporch above a lovely Tea Party Table. If you have any more questions just drop me a line and I would love to see what whimsical and wonderful windchimes you created. ************* Here is a little sneak at a new gypsy art piece that I am working on now I love toadstools and my lovely toadstool gypsy Continue reading

Dearest Miss V, Oh please sign me up. I know I am a little late signing up, but I simply must not miss your wonderful tea party. My 4 little hatters would be very upset if we were to miss such a Magnificently Mad Occasion. http://candydelane.typepad.com/curiosities/ I look so forward to that Special Day Wishes and Whimsy Wendy from Wonderland
Dearest Miss V, I have been away for so very long, and it is in your stories usually that I find my way back here to blogland. Life seems to hide my computer from me every once in awhile.(Actually it is probablly one of the 5 hatters that live around me, and would rather have dinner and playtime than to lose me in my blog), but I am here for now. I wanted to let you know how happy I am that you mentioned the Colorado tragedy today. I am so very saddened and I too find myself with tears in my eyes throughout the day, especially when I look at my children. I think of the mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and friends that were tragically impacted by this senseless act and my heart just breaks in two. I look at the faces on the victims and listen to the fear and confusion in their voices and wonder if they will ever walk in peace again. I will be sending out prayers and thoughts as well today and in the days to come. I know many tragedies happen in the course of one day, some we hear about and some we don't, and even though we cannot reach them all, maybe some of our thoughts and prayers can reach the ones we hear about and we can hope that others' prayers are reaching those we don't hear about. Hope to hear again from you soon. Wendy from Wonderland
