Last week I registered for Stampin' Up's OnStage Convention. To say I am excited to be in Orlando in November would be an understatement, I can't wait to soak in all of the amazing creativity and see some of my favourite people:) One of the hilights of Convention is checking out all of the fabulous display samples created by fellow demonstrators, showcasing new and upcoming products. This year I thought I would apply to be one of those stampers (fingers crossed). To apply I need to showcase my work with 3 cards, 2 3D items and a scrapbook page. These... Continue reading

We love sharing our passion for creating with all of you and hope to inspire along the way. This month we are being inspired by the Tropics! Our challenge was to create a project that has a tropical vibe to it. I completely took this challenge literally and used the amazing Tropical Escape Suite from the current annual catalogue. As i have mentioned before, I love a good challenge! Especially when it involves playing around with colour combinations. This week at the Global Design Project they are having a colour challenge, so naturally I had to play along. I started with a piece of Shimmery White and stamped the floral image using Stazon Jet Black Ink. I then proceeded to colour the whole background with Mint Macaron Ink using an Aquapainter. I love the way the shimmery White Card stock takes to watercolouring. The flowers were then colored the same way using Fresh Fig and Grapefruit Grove. To add... Continue reading

This week's challenge at the Global Design Project is to CASE the designer. I love a good challenge and when I saw that the designer was the very talented Charlet Mallett I knew I had to find the time to play along this week! CASEing (Copy And Selectively Edit) is a great way to have a starting point for a project. I love Charlet's card, the colours, clean lines and use of contrasting pattered papers. I very much copied the main base layout with layering DSP and banner. I started with a Whisper white card base and added on a... Continue reading

When the new Stampin' Up! catalogue was first available to view online for demos, I not so patiently waited for it to download so I could virtually flip through every last page. There were so many amazing stamp sets and accessories that it was hard to decide what to order first, but I knew the minute I saw Dandelion Wishes it was a must have. I fell in love with the combination of whimsical images and fabulous fonts. So the minute I received my order it was the first set to see ink. This week's Global Design Project is a... One of the great things about paper crafting is the amazing online community of people sharing their work, whether it be through blogs, facebook, instagram etc. there are so many inspiring projects out there. This also means I see many items that I may have over looked the first several times I flipped through the new Stampin' Up! Catalogue; such as the Serene Garden Stamp set and coordinating Framelits. It became a must have after seeing so many beautiful samples online. This one in particular by the talented Jen Timko made me push the order button, lol. It is also the... Continue reading

I don't know about you, but I can never have too many birthday cards on hand. I also seem to have a tendency of hoarding pretty patterned papers, so in my effort to use what I have before I dive into my new preorder goodies (as I have mentioned before, one of the biggest perks of being a demonstrator is getting new products before they are released to customers) I have made some quick, fun and easy birthday cards. The Picture perfect 6x6 Designer Series papers has photographic imagery of everything that a good party needs: balloons, hats, donuts etc.... Continue reading

"A piece of paper folded in half...", that is what a card is, right?! As soon as I saw the stamp set Birthday wit I knew I had to immediately have it. You see, believe it or not my husband doesn't really see the point of cards. GASP, I know how can anyone not see the value of a kind note of thanks or a happy birthday wish? Now don't get me wrong I know he does appreciate it when he receives one and has been know to give me a few sarcastic and funny cards over the past 20+... Continue reading

I can't believe we are already more then half way through January! Too be honest 2018 has not had a great start for our family, but I am trying to focus on the good. Back in December I signed up for a card swap that was arranged by the lovely Alison Solven. We created a card that focused on products from the Occasions Catalogue and another card with products from the Saleabration catalogue. This is the card I made using paper and stamps from the Picture Perfect Party Suite of products. Now I am not one for mass creating, so... Continue reading

I had such a great time being a display stamper for OnStage Vancouver in November of last year and again in April when I attended the one in Calgary. It was fun to work with new products and challenge myself creatively. So, I decided to apply once again for the upcoming OnStage event in Las Vegas in April. To apply you have to submit photos of 3 cards, a scrapbook page and 2 3D projects. I tried to create and choose a variety of project styles and colours:) This scrapbook page just makes me smile. At my son's high school... Continue reading

Mixed metals are so on trend right now, you see them everywhere from jewelry to clothing and home decor. I was so... Continue reading

Stampin' Up! has done it again! Just when I thought they couldn't possibly top the Online Extravaganza Sale, they decided to do another day of FREE SHIPPING, and they still have the Year End Sales Event going on too! So there are a lot of deals to be had. I still had the Half Full stamp set sitting on my desk and several of the same supplies so I decided to make another card but this time a super quick and easy card. I started with a Crumb Cake card base, then added the gorgeous striped DSP that has a... Continue reading

Here I am posting another non-Christmas card, lol. Procrastination at it's finest as usual. But I think you all will agree this card most certainly would be appropriate for this festive season. Also this stamp set also has perfect sentiments for Christmas as well, so at some point soon I am sure I will make a few Christmas cards;) When I decided to use this stamp set I knew immediately that I wanted to use the Wood Textures DSP with it. I just love that paper stack, it has several differrent wood and woodgrain designs. The base of the card... Continue reading
