Meal Monday The first bite of this scrumptuous meal transported me back to the days when I used to have time to cook, time to savor multi-layered food, time to do dishes. For that reason, I considered not including it... Continue reading

Work Wednesday Nine weeks ago, I voluntarily left a solid and decent paying job. And while in this economy, such an act could label me crazy, I did it so that I could avoid just that. I was on the... Continue reading

Meal Monday Every spring, I experience PTSD-like memories of the intimidating first moments of wearing a bathing suit in public. I cut my portion sizes and kick up the exercise. But once summer hits, I give up. At that point,... Continue reading

Meal Monday I frequently crave Asian food. A good portion of that is that incredible depth and diversity of flavor most Asia food brings, but the rest is that I don't often cook it at home. I yearn for that... Continue reading

Oh, good, Katherine! It's good to know that this is a stage! What a pleasure it is to share with kids the beauty and joy of good food ... if only we could do it on adult-sized plates. Thanks for commenting!
Meal Monday Opening up the fridge door, my husband and I looked at each other knowingly. Inside that enormous container was a big blob of bean soup. And neither of us could bear one more spoonful. It was time to... Continue reading

Meal Monday Photo by tuchodi via Flickr. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I absolutely adore a brined and perfectly roasted turkey, and I could eat a good batch of stuffing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. To have all of this,... Continue reading

Thank you for these great reminders! I feel the same stress all the time, and mitigate it with similar tactics.
