Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Friday to you all. Any big plans for the weekend? Of course, many of you are probably celebrating Passover or Easter. I'd like to get some garden time, but I think it's supposed to rain for most of the weekend, so that might not work. Maybe I'll get BDH and Little Buddha a new book and hang out with them while they read. We'll see. It's another windy day around here, which I don't love, and neither does the Clutter Tree. Speaking of the tree, if any of you could send a few... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? We've already had some excitement here today. Well, "excitement" might not be the right word. An alarm went off somewhere in the neighborhood at 2:30 this morning, and it didn't stop until at least 4:00, so that was fun. I couldn't tell where it was coming from, but I didn't see flames anywhere or hear sirens, so that's a good sign. Still, an alarm that can wail for 90 minutes straight doesn't seem like the most effective warning system. Anyway, that threw off my sleep a bit, but BDH and Little Buddha promised... Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How's your week going? It's been pretty productive here so far. That crazy wind finally died down, but the heat just came on for a minute, so we're not done with cold weather yet. On the flip side, the sun rises early enough now that we don't have to turn the lights on in the morning, so that's helpful. What's also helpful is coffee. BDH and Little Buddha put a fresh pot on the counter, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, because it's time to clear out some Wednesday... Continue reading

We made a mistake. We had the best of intentions, but it's clear we made an error. It all seemed pretty straight-forward, but now we've got a problem. Avengers: Endgame is right around the corner, and there's a new trailer, so we thought we'd check it out. No harm, no foul, right? The problem is that now we won't be able to get to sleep between now and April 26, because this clip is just awesome. It's a simple straightforward recap of how we arrived at this moment, and we've still got goosebumps. Eleven years of universe building that comes... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. Are you having the same crazy wind we're having here? It woke us all up a few times last night, and I guess it's supposed to continue until this evening. I wrap several windows each winter, and man does that pay off, because otherwise it would probably be about 15 degrees colder in here right now. Anyway, they say that April showers bring May flowers, but our yard is considerably greener now than it was 24 hours ago because of yesterday's rain. That's so exciting! In other good news, BDH... Cecile Richards has spent most of her life as a "troublemaker," whether it's organizing labor groups across the country to unionize and improve their economic situations, or leading the defense of reproductive health services. The daughter of former Texas Governor Ann Richards and a civil rights attorney, Cecile Richards understands that activism is a critical component of our democracy, and it is not a spectator sport. She, along with co-author Lauren Peterson, lays out the story of her life, and tells of the incredible courage of so many women (and a few good men) she's known, in her book, Make... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! It's a rainy Monday, and that leaves us even more in awe of the folks who are running the Boston Marathon today. The idea of voluntarily running 26.2 miles is already beyond us, but in this weather? Forget about it. Best of luck to all of the runners, as well as their family and friends who are going to get soaked while cheering them on. We've got a few things to take care of today. None of it is as challenging as running a marathon, but BDH and Little Buddha think it's important we start this... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Our crew is enjoying a nice lazy Saturday at the moment. We slept in for the first time in ages, which was a treat. It was probably made easier by the sound of the falling rain. BDH and Little Buddha have been engrossed in their new book all morning. However, they put it down and ran off to make the coffee as soon as I mentioned you were on your way. They say it's ready, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Clutter. Donald Trump continues to blatantly... Continue reading

The first trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is here! Like many, we loved the original Star Wars trilogy, but our feelings about the "new generation" of movies have been all over the place. (It's still amazing that anyone thought a movie about a trade war was a good idea.) However, as the hype begins for the final chapter of this story, we're hopeful that the powers that be will bring it to a satisfying conclusion, and this first glimpse looks promising. The new generation of stars is here, with Rey, Kylo Ren, Poe, and Finn (among others)... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Friday to you all. What's the plan for the weekend? It starts for us with our first trip of the season to Fenway Park, so that's exciting. Not entirely sure what we're doing after that, although it would be good if I finished my taxes. BDH and Little Buddha picked up a new book this week, so they'll probably focus on that for a while. We'll see. In any case, let's check out today's headlines. The coffee is on the desk, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, because it's time to clear... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. I was just talking to BDH and Little Buddha about the fact that David Ortiz was in town yesterday to promote the new Boston Red Sox - New Hampshire Lottery scratch ticket. Wally and Tessie were there as well, and they do a terrific job of working the crowd. Fans young and old alike were grinning as they hung out with the two mascots. It was cold while we were waiting for Big Papi, and he was a little late, but the crowd was in a positive mood, and a... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? I finally got a good night's sleep again. I'm so happy about that, I'm doing my best to ignore the light layer of snow that's on the ground right now. The high temperatures are supposed to be in the 40's today, so it shouldn't be here that much longer anyway. BDH and Little Buddha asked if I still thought they should make some coffee, and then they laughed before I even had a chance to answer. There's a fresh pot on the counter, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How are you? The sleeping adventures continue this week. Something woke me up at 3:00 this morning. The details don't matter, but everything was resolved somewhere around 3:30. However, I was wide awake and kept staring at the clock. You know those times where you sleep for say, 15 minutes, but it feels like you were awake the whole time? Well, that happened to me for the rest of the night. I must have woken up 10 times between 4:00 and 5:30, so that was a bit of a drag.... Continue reading

"With the lights out, it's less dangerous Here we are now, entertain us I feel stupid and contagious Here we are now, entertain us" With those simple words, Kurt Cobain and his Nirvana bandmates exploded onto the national music scene in 1991. They ended the "hair metal"/cock-rock era seemingly overnight, as they immediately reset musical tastes across the country with their combination of punk rock mentality and a strong pop base. Cobain and company were the modern-day Beatles with their immediate and revolutionary impact, but unfortunately, their rise came to a screeching halt with Cobain's self-inflicted death in 1994. However,... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy (albeit rainy) Monday to you all! How are you? I woke up in the middle of the night, and it took me a little while to get back to sleep, so things are moving a touch slowly here at the moment. A number of things need to be taken care of today, but I'm already thinking about a nap. BDH and Little Buddha say they made the coffee extra strong to help me power though the list of errands, and then we can talk about the schedule after that. Works for me. They... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How's your weekend going so far? We had a decent amount of running around yesterday, so today might be a little quieter. I might let the yard and garden beds thaw out for another week before I start raking leaves. We're still having some chilly nights here, and the leaves provide some cover for the plants, so yeah, maybe we'll start next weekend. BDH and Little Buddha just got a new book yesterday, so we'll have some reading time later. For now, let's check out today's headlines. The guys say... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Friday to you all. What's on the schedule for this weekend? I don't think we're going to be that busy, apart from maybe doing some light yard work if it feels like we can run the rake through the garden beds without harming them while they continue thawing. We'll see. The highs will be in the 60's, so that's nice. BDH and Little Buddha say the coffee is ready, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Friday Clutter. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) wrote a letter... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back. How are you? We're a little anxious about the Clutter Tree right now. As some of you remember, we've been through a few adventures with the tree over the last couple of years, and long story short, we'd feel much better if we saw some buds ASAP. The idea of this place without the tree makes me physically ill, but we're all hoping it doesn't come down to that. If any of you could direct a few good thoughts the tree's way and just picture it with some new leaves, we'd appreciate it. Now, let's see... Continue reading

Full Disclosure: This is not DC Comics territory. Clutter Headquarters is firmly in the Marvel camp. We've tried to push through a number of Superman movies that did nothing for us. We also couldn't get through Justice League, even when it was showing for free on our flight, and we had nowhere else to go for the next four hours. The movies usually seem too dark, symbolically and literally, and they feel like more like punishments than entertainment. Give us comic book movies with humor, a feeling of being epic, and a brightness (so we can see what's going on)... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! How are you? Today's weather forecast said there was a chance for some snow this morning, but if it was here, it's already turned to rain. Our first visitors in the garden this year have arrived, so they'll enjoy the rain. Whatever makes them happy and healthy works for me. Speaking of being happy, BDH and Little Buddha say the coffee is ready, so grab yourself a nice medium DD, and let's clear out some Wednesday Clutter. Donald Trump is back to attacking the legitimacy of our country's elections, as he told House Republicans to be... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How are you? Did anyone trick you yesterday? I fell for a Facebook post that said Sherlock would be back on January 1, 2020, but that was it. Of course, no one ever fools BDH and Little Buddha, they're too smart for that sort of stuff. It's a little chilly outside this morning. However, the guys say it's supposed to warm up in a bit, so this seems like a good day for doing some errands once we finish checking out today's headlines. There's a fresh pot of coffee on... Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Monday to you all! How was your weekend? Ours was fine, although it wasn't as productive as I hoped. Yesterday had a bit of potential in the morning, but then it started raining, and a nap sounded like a good idea, and that was that. BDH and Little Buddha are telling me not to worry about it. They say that's what weekends are for, and I can take care of plenty of stuff today. They're the best. The guys also say that the coffee is ready. Grab yourself a nice medium DD, and... Hi everyone, Welcome back! Come on in, have a seat. How are you? We were just talking about whether or not the first quarter of the year went by quickly. Maybe a bit. Things are about to pick up though, because we're beginning to get our first arrivals in the garden! Everyone got off to a slow start last year, and they seem determined for that not to happen again this time. As long as early April's weather is good to them, we're thrilled to see some small patches of green popping up around here. Today's rain should help them.... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back, and a happy Friday to you all! What's the plan for this weekend? Don't think we have anything too crazy besides taking another pass at doing our taxes, which is always fun. BDH and Little Buddha will also continue keeping an eye out for the first sign of buds on the Clutter Tree. We're supposed to get some rain later today as well as over the next few days, so maybe that will help. It's still early, but they're eager to see some changes on the branches. Of course, there's also some baseball to watch. The... Continue reading

Hi everyone, Welcome back! We were just talking about you. BDH and Little Buddha were wondering what time you were going to get here today. I said I thought it would be pretty soon, and here you are! They want to know if you want to hang out with them and the Clutter Tree while I'm gone for a couple of hours. They're focused on sending good thoughts to the tree to make sure he's healthy this year. Just let them know if you're around. In the meantime, the guys made a fresh pot of coffee, so help yourself to... Continue reading
