Haloumi, eggplant, mushrooms..... sounds delish! And I agree, no bacon necessary! Maybe an egg on top though...

Just the photo I need to show our builder how I want our stairs to be. A picture of peace and contentment!

It's been one year since I started nest. I've loved sharing my thoughts and stories with my friends and family via the bloggasphere (?), but all good things must come to an end. I was talking yesterday about simplifying. Taking a break from nest will take one item from my To Do list and help make my life less crammed. So, I'm shutting up shop, pulling the roller door down and throwing in the towel. Thankyou to my friends and family for being avid readers and to my new bloggy friends for their comments and for introducing me to their... Continue reading

France isn't going anywhere. Go traipsing again at 30+ or 40+. Believe me, the older you get, the better the accomodation you'll find yourself in. No backpackers hostel when 30+! and nothing less than **** when 40+...

This morning I found a blog post that I thought was written by me. And it appears that at least 108 others thought so too, judging on the number of comments left after the post. It is titled 'How to Make Things Harder and Do Nothing' and you an click here to read it for yourself. Everyone I know is chasing their tails, we all have a million things to do, and DO a million things. And put off a million things, and feel guilty when we can't do it all (or is that just me?). I've purposefully slowed down... Continue reading

I mentioned yesterday my feelings towards Yo Gabba Gabba and received enough positive comments to know that I'm not the only one who furrows their brow and has an aimless scratch when faced with the YGG 'team'. Thankyou readers and comment leavers, we should band together and be un-hip, as one. Friday night is movie night for my two. I started one week by picking Walt Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty' (onya Walt) which was particularly relevant as we visited THE Sleeping Beauty castle when in France just a couple of months ago. Here it is. Proof... This castle was inspiration for... Continue reading

Thanks for the comment!! Yes, Linda, 'penis' is allowed. Hmmm, could be a poo, could be a penis, could be a chokito. Who can say?

It's horrid. I tried to attach a couple of youtube clips but, again, technology was not on my side. If you're bored or stupid search on youtube for the 'don't bite your friends' song. It's just odd.

Ok, I'll put it out there. I'll ask the question and hope it doesn't expose me as an 'un-hip' mum. And I'm going to use capital letters to make sure I get my point across... WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH YO GABBA GABBA? Look at them. (image) I've never taken an hallucinogenic drug but I'm certain, if I did, this is what I'd see. It's all so.... colourful... and strange... and those eyes... kind of sad and kind of weird and kind of spooky. The voices are those of creepy nightmare creatures.... and the songs linger and torment my brain... Continue reading

A beautiful time of year where ever you are is Australia I think. Have a good look at that photo of the garden being scratched up, Kim and think about your beautiful garden.... better build that fence before chooks enter your life...

We had to prise (?sp?) them out of mum's grasp when we got back. Mum and dad completely fell in love with them and the girls loved their holiday too. With all the scratching and new things to eat their yolks changed colour to a darker golden yellowy orange. Mum was giving them more kitchen scraps too. They probably feel a little deprived now that they're back and wish they could visit Grandma and Grandad again.

Exactly. I'll never get rid of that tree it really makes the yard the what it is. Our neighbours have a pool- we'll use that.

'Sorry, Ivy's not in at the moment... I sent her out to get some coffee.' Very funny. Love it. You've always been a confident, capable mum. A natural. x

I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than to lie on a picnic mat in your backyard. Particularly during a balmy Brisbane winter when the sky is blue, it's warm in the sun but cool(ish) is the shade. We had a top of 23 degC today in the dead of winter, brrr. The most beautiful day you can imagine. I didn't sleep well saturday night and I can feel a sore throat starting and a cough (...what's that? oh, just the violins accompanying my woeful tale... never mind them...). After lunch I spread out a... Continue reading

Second semester has started at TAFE (actually, now called an Institute of Technology. La de da). Subjects have been chosen, the timetable has been established and juggled and balanced against family life. It all fits in and we're off on another busy 6 months. Busy, yet satisfying. After taking last semester off, starting back on monday night was a welcome distraction and SO what I needed. At TAFE I am just me, not Tom's mum or Juliet's mum or 'that woman down the street who wears socks with her birkenstocks' *cough*, ummm... I'm just me, a fellow student in an... Continue reading
