August 18, 2009 - The worst-kept secret in gaming is official: the PS3 slim is real. During its Gamescom press conference today in Germany, Sony announced the new system, which will retail for $299 US (or 299 Euros, $499 AUD, $629 NZD and 29,980 yen) and will hit shelves September 1, 2009 (Sept 3 in AU, NZ and JPN). For the 2009 rulemaking, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has filed an exemption request with the U.S. Copyright Office to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) related to iPhone jailbreakingwhich allows iPhone owners to install iPhone apps that have not been approved on the App Store (due to various reasons). Chevy Volt: GM's 230 mpg Moon Shot General Motors, faced with the need to recast itself in the public eye after a near-disastrous run through bankruptcy court, believes it has an ace up its sleeve.
