WHAT IS MEANINGFUL? Today let us think about what is meaningful in our lives - what we value and define as our purpose - defining why we are here and what we are meant to do. Today let us create this purposeful life guided by God and our desires infusing every moment, and every action, and every interaction with meaning and significance. Today let us evolve our purposeful life into a mission - a quest - an authentic pursuit of meaningful action - changing our life and all life forever. Today let us live with purpose. Continue reading

A key to living an Authentic, Purposeful Life is finding meaning in our lives. I believe on both a spiritual and human plane life is a quest for meaning – a search for purpose – an answer to the “why” of existence and in the end, this answer, is a catalyst for infusing a sense of mission into living. This meaning and the resulting mission allow us to obtain the most from life.FINDING MEANINGLife without meaning is like taking a journey without a destination; it is pointless because you will never know if you have arrived. Knowing where you are going and why you want to go is essential to a purposeful life. Infusing meaning and purpose into your existence breathes energy and power into your life.Evolving this purpose into a “mission” – a strategic plan for living, one that you live with passion, dedication, and complete focus is the true elixir of life. This strategic plan or mission or quest will enable you to get the maximum from life and provide you joy and happiness from justliving. This meaning and mission can be spiritual or lifedriven – when both are blended together the power of your commitment will enable you to move mountains – cocreate and manifest all you need to succeed. Finding meaning and creating a mission to lead the way – will also provide you the feedback needed to adjust your efforts. Authentic, Purposeful Life is built on establishing a mission infused with meaning, passion, and desire – a mission beyond yourself but of yourself. NOE G. 11.11.2010 7:00 AM Continue reading

With the writing of the Finding God On The Train Story, I have journeyed through the spiritual landscape offering my personal experience, while working all along to relate it to New Thought and the mystical wisdom studies proffered through the ages. New Thought proposes that within you, me, each of us, even the not so good of us, is our own internal divinity - or soul that reflects our God nature, our potential, and our power. The Meditation Guidance below reflects a response, I have transcribed, when asking for help understanding this topic, in hopes of revealing a fresh perspective. The guidance opens with what might be considered an excellent approach for pursuing any creative activity, where we are encouraged to stay focused for clues and insights. But again, I am brought back to Heisenberg's Quantum concept of "Potentia" where infinite possibilities exist waiting for the collapsing of conscious focus. I am coming closer to understanding what our real divine potential may actually be as it relates to our personal and God-consciousness: if we were amenable to accepting it and harnessing its power. So I am still looking at the possibilities. OPEN TO THE POSSIBILITIESOpen yourself to the possibilities that surround you,be observant at this time for clues, for insightsthat will spark your thinking and send you in acreative direction. Allow this wisdom to movethrough you, as you determine the next step.Don’t be afraid to explore and add your opinionsand directions to the unfolding work. Peer insidedeeply and you may see the connection betweenaction and tangible creation. Surely, all of thisleads to your own God nature – your own uniquedivinity and how it connects to all that existsDo not underestimate the power of the mind andthis connection as a tool for progress, creation, forming your vision into a reality. Possibly allexistence is but a thought in consciousness waitingto be realized – focused on and brought to life.Possibly there are infinite possibilities at eachmoment existing in potential, waiting for thecollapsing of conscious focus. Search for theunderpinnings, the order, the method Goduses to create with us – create your own theoryand possibly provide a new insight into co-creation.NOE G. 1.13.12 7:08 AMWITH LOVE, G. It is choice and free will - our ability to create ourselves out of our desires - which often underscores the complexity of being human, of being alive. We can conceive in our minds the full blossoming rose - wine red with petals of silk - and we are astonished by the beauty arriving from one seed. Or the squirrel, the star of the brief note below, who knows the pure pleasure of being a squirrel and offers us a simple nut of wisdom. I wrote this note below for Ann on a sleepy Sunday morning, looking out at the gray sky, the snow on the lawn, the oak tree outside of our sunroom, watching a squirrel navigate a nut along a long limb and marveling at the simplicity and the complexity of existence. Almost like a Zen master, I jotted down the following note without explanation, leaving the mystery of its meaning to the reader. THE SQUIRREL Through the sunroom window I see a squirrel maneuverthe limb of the tree – how wondrous – the squirrel being exactly what the squirrel should be – a squirrel. How perfect the life of a squirrel –never desiring to be anything elsebut a squirrel and succeeding. As you can see, the note is shorter in length than my usual Affirmaitve Thought notes, which are usually first written for Ann before I publish them on the blog. When I presented Ann with the note later that morning with her first tea of the day, she read it and gave me a half smile and a casual thanks as she tossed it gently on the dresser. She turned and said, “I guess you didn’t have muchto say? I said, “perhaps more than is apparent." Half joking I said – “I just receive the messages from God, I don’t take responsibility for the length or content.” Ann gave me a half laugh. Almost two weeks later I am having dinner with Ann at a local Italian restaurant, the kind of place we all go to get a quick meal close to home, and Ann is talking about work and she says, “you know, I have decided to be a squirrel - I am no longer going to try to be a rabbit or a dog but just the squirrel I was made to be.” I almost dropped my fork full of pasta, thoroughly surprised the squirrel had surfaced again. Ann admitted that when I gave her the Squirrel note she had dismissed it, thinking that I was just tired or did not feel like writing that morning, but the image of the contented squirrel kept appearing in her mind. As time went on, she decided the squirrel was being what the squirrel was meant to be - fully authentic, and that was why the squirrel was so happy and succeeded. Ann said she then decided she was going to live her life asking a simple question – “I am a squirrel, am I trying to be something else by doing this?" Am I trying to be the rabbit someone wouldlike me to be? Ann said she had decided to commit herself to always be just a squirrel? For Ann, the squirrel had become a symbol of the authentic Ann - the Ann she was meant to be. In the end, I also learned a great deal from Ann and the squirrel. I do believe in our souls – we are born with a divine spiritual instinct along with our genetic predilections. When we know this soul – this divine purpose - our authentic purposeful life will shine – we will discover the “Squirrel” in our hearts. All we then need to do is ask Ann’s simple question – are we being true to the squirrel we were meant to be? WITH LOVE, G. Continue reading

DETAILS AVAILABLE AT www.FindingGodOnTheTrain.com Recently, I decided that I should start to reread some of the guidance I have received on a daily basis. So reaching for one of my black moleskin journals, where I record my meditation guidance, I opened it to a meditation note from November of 2011 titled The Question. As I read it over, I realized that it would be an excellent opening - almost tailor-made - for a key chapter of Book Three - of the Finding God On The Train Story series to be titled The Soul and God Consciousness - The Divinity Within Us, where I want to incorporate my God inspired messages in a framework of the existing scientific and mystical thought. Answering the question presented in this guidance provides a viable starting point for this discussion. THE QUESTION The question is this – are our thoughts truly creating the reality we are experiencing, and if so, how does it occur, how does it work? This is the most profound question of our individual conscious impact on this reality we perceive. Are we merely pawns immersed in the coincidences and whims of fortune, or are we active agents of creation. In this, what is our relationship with God? Is life a cruel irony where self-will meets, the enormously more powerful, happenstance or existence and eventually accepts its place. Or is the human mind a purposeful and potent creative interpreter and designer of the reality it perceives. And if we truly possess this power, why have we not realized it and begun to use it for our benefit - creating heaven on earth. This is the question we must investigate, research, and by so doing, determine our divine nature and potential. To answer this question, we must find the truth already uncovered by psychology, physics, philosophy, theology, and metaphysics – using the perspective of both the scientist and the mystic alike, which may enable and allow us, using a Rumi phrase, to peak beneath the skirt of God. This is our mission – so where do we start - with the relevant guidance that has been revealed to date. Use this as a credible starting point and venture onward. THE ANSWERS The answers you seek are within you at the level of your soul – existing as part of the divine spark, which motivates you to ask the questions – while already knowing the answers – doing so, to assist with your growth, development, and transformation. The answers you seek are presented in every real-life experience – each lesson – a living dream with meaning – directing you to discover the intended message – a revelation – an obvious clue enabling you to unravel the mystery of your authentic spiritual potential. The answers you seek may appear before even the question has been formed within your conscious mind – so simply ask: “What message does this life experience convey, what am I to understand?” and the true meaning will be revealed. Often, I allow the words to appear and find their place as willed from beyond, or perhaps deep within myself, I am never quite sure, and as with most things spiritual, the source is not readily clarified. I do believe this force that touches our hearts, that some of us recognize as divine, is not held to our narrow perspective: our sliver of time; but is, the becoming itself, is the emergence of life pursued, encouraging all who will listen to strive further, to keep pushing, thus being made more alive by the very momentum created out of our living, and like a joyful child being playfully spun - shrieking with laughter - cajoling us to spin faster - please, faster. THE PURSUIT OF BECOMING Allow what is to be, without fret or sorrow or consternation, being aware of the true destiny of this existence, a life lived in pursuit of becoming what has been established before, and will be forever after: predestined destiny, the arising of fuller, more fragrant possibility, do not dismay but flourish, for this time has been and will forever be a charted course of a multitude of strivings, reachings, graspings, and when a grip is found, seeking leverage, summoning strength, and finding new ground, an unexpected stance, a wary balance, a fresh perspective, a new, ripe beginning from which to reach, to strive, to seek again and again, and forever again – in pursuit of becoming. The past few weeks have been a blur, literally, as we took turns as the patient, first Ann, then me – were forced to realize that flu vaccinations do not necessarily mean you will not get the flu, although, most likely, not the one you are protected to resist, but instead, some genetically unplanned for next of kin that has gone under the radar. Although, on the positive side, this medical hiatus has proven supportive for spiritual pursuits, especially prayer and meditation. Given the extra time, attempting more intensive meditation seemed to be a viable option. When I decide to, as I call it, to go deeper, I always prepare the way with prayer, explaining what I am about to do, and what I want to accomplish. I ask for God’s assistance, especially when dealing with the occasional negative thoughts, images, memories, or whatever might be unleashed. When I did, I received the note below titled Dive Deep– an example of what over the past ten years of my quest, I have recorded as inspired guidance and have termed as Notes On Enlightenment(N.O.E.’s) - to reflect that these are responses I receive when I ask for God’s guidance. I consider them inspired because I write down, or transcribe, what comes to me, word for word, without editing. As the note below explains, and most mystics have conveyed, deep diving offers its own spiritual treasure. I close this post with a poem/prayer titled, The Hum. DIVE DEEP In the vastness exists all things, all that was, all that is, all that will ever be: allow it to flow unchecked, go with its currents, tides, allow the waves of awareness to wash over you and through you; observe without judgment, for in this place, qualifications, expectations, judgments are needless, wasted energy – observe and move on when unappealing or distressing, languish if desired, dive deeper if desired, for this is the basis of life itself in all its vagaries, vicissitudes, the essence of passions, of desires, of strivings, of successes, and of course, of failures – hopeless or needless blunders – yet more important – the reachings, the yearnings, the outstretched hope for more: what lies ahead, the next step, the possibility if only, if only all things are aligned – and when they do or are – the expression of unbridled joy – the hallelujah of existence. Dive deep, dive often and be transformed. NOE G. 2.6.2016 THE HUM In your grasp, I am one, flesh made whole, soul within a greater soul, waiting, appeased by nothing less than clear, complete immersion, to drown away this worldliness, this focus on folly, to cleanse away this desirous appetite, left only with the hum of self-contained peace, the original selfless soul of pre-emergence, one, one, once more. As I meditate and search for guidance, seriously addressing the prolonged inspirational wisdom drought I have been experiencing, I again asked for guidance, and a word - activation- started to move through my meditations like a bird in fixed flight, circling within my consciousness. So, I reached for my journal, unused lately, and found a fresh page and titled it - Activation, expecting full well that I might be waiting for something that was not going to arrive, but to my surprise, and honestly, joy, the words, and sentences slipped into my awareness, forming this note below before my tearful eyes. As I read this note, I wonder about my spiritual activation - am I fully, or partially, or not yet activated? ACTIVATION Spiritual activation is being alive and one with the divinity of existence, living fully and intently within this paradigm, perceiving life as a carefully structured vision of love and purpose, a message of faith and wonder, allowing our souls to express the miracle of this beingness. We activate when we fully recognize our role, our unique position as a distinct instrument in the orchestration of one illumination, whether we pound out the rhythm or contribute to the melody – the timbre of our contribution allows the whole to grow, expand, evolve; opening the potentials yet unrealized. Once activated, the voice of godness is our voice, the message of oneness; our expression, the becoming; our loving commitment – it is here within this we are reborn, discovering the essential why of our distinctive place in the wholeness and being of this manifestation, this living, breathing, thriving magnificence – as active particles of momentous beingness – of God, alive and well! GRATITUDE Let us scan all of our positive emotions today and choose the most powerful – gratitude – knowing this sentiment represents our soul felt thanks for the sentient life we now enjoy – grateful for the delicate thread that stitches the fabric of our lives together into a living, vital, wondrous form - a divine thread sowing a myriad of possibilities and situations into an abundant, prosperous, and meaningful existence, allowing us to discover and reveal our sacred purpose, enabling us to be the living hands and feet of God in a tangible world – opening our eyes to the miracles sewn together by a grace, so significant and thorough. it leaves no life forsaken – no soul untouched. progeny – noun – (treated as singular or plural) a descendant or the descendants of a person, animal, plant; offspring. The concept of an emergent God has captured my attention and contemplation, a God that might have erupted from the creative life force within us, a product of our confluent intentions, given form by our joint hopes, dreams, desires, imaginings; attracted by our incessant spiritual need: eventually given life within our communal consciousness, our shared universal consciousness. Today, while meditating and focusing on this possibility that humankind may have reached out for salvation and transcendence, I was offered the note below and jotted down these inspired words. AN EMERGENT GOD We, humankind, are the progeny of an ever evolving existence, of intentions, formed and emergent, palpating with desire, fervor, stretching to be more, to be alive, pushing what is not into being, shaping formless into form, an incubator for possibilities and potentials. God, as with all existence, is the result of this creative cauldron, perhaps conceived by a multitude of hopeful whispers, pleas for salvation, a reverberation of heartfelt intentions, etched out from centuries of suffering and fear, grasping for an overseer of humanities’ plight and destiny; for a friend, an arbitrator, perhaps to offer a sense of rationality, balance, and morality in a tumultuous world. This God, formed in our mutual and shared consciousness has been given life, taken shape, answered our prayers, aiding in our becoming, realizing our capacity for magnificence as well as intolerance, working to manage our appetites for more, urging us to consider love over madness, hope over despair – enlightenment over darkness. commonality - noun: the state of sharing features or attributes. In our modern, often egocentric and ethnocentric times,it is hard to see the common existence that we all truly do share. We, as individuals, as communities, as ethnic groups, as religions, and as nations have found it easy to promote the intrinsic chauvinism of whatever group, or faction, we consider ours. Yet, the inspired message I receive, like the one here offered, is always clear - that enlightened, positive spiritual existence requires that we understand our role as part of the commonality of all existence. That our contribution, made daily through our creative labor, whatever the form helps stoke the hearth of evolving life and consciousness. So may this note serve as a reminder today of this commonality, and how our lives depend on this common undertaking we call life. COMMONALITY Today let us strive to open our hearts, to share our feelings, to express our deepest longings, and by doing so reach a place of commonality, where we each exist, one within the other, overlapping souls in harmonic unison. As we open our hearts, let us speak, write, play, sing, build, create, inspire, plant - all contributing to this symphony of an evolving existence - no one voice more earnest or essential than the other - all equal but distinct. So let our labor be a gift of love today, our totem, our tithe, our tangible offering to this life so enormous, so momentous, warming our spirits from the sparks of its mighty becoming, knowing within this common undertaking, our life, all life, is perpetuated. What a wonderful concept - a holiday where the primary mission is to be grateful and to give thanks, offering true gratitude for all we have been given. I think the Affirmative Note below sums this up and provides some additional guidance on how we might expand our thanks giving. THANKS GIVING Let us live this holiday of thanks giving with true gratitude in our hearts - fully acknowledging the gifts of life, we have been given – truly understanding the bounty that surrounds us. Let us live this holiday of thanks giving focused on love and kindness seeking to make our relationships with family, friends, associates – and even those we wish to change – deeper and more meaningful. Let us live this holiday of thanks giving connected with our own divinity – knowing God is within us – dwells with us and allow this divine nature to shine through as we accept others and ourselves as God personified. Let us live this holiday giving thanks! AT G. 11.23.2 Continue reading

As much as I try to look beyond the state of our current union, the level of our internal hostility and bitterness seems to require, at times, the only type of reminder I am capable of offering or qualified to express – a simple reminder that beneath our well-honed outrage that we are still, and will always be, one - a singular we. THE SINGULAR WE Let us sit clear-headed, perched near the edge of the pond of our knowing, leaving behind and shedding the friction of common existence, here only true essence matters: the flow of pure energy, the substance of our living, as we wake to the moment, realizing our solitude is now replaced with the multitude, as the infinity of us surrounds the pond’s edge, stretching beyond perception, each being connected as the thread of light travels from and through, heart to heart, soul to soul; now, what was plural, is singular, a unity of perfect being.
