He is such a well-spoken young man and is the culmination of what two dedicated, loving people can nurture. Despite my conservative leanings on some issues, I cannot ignore the countless numbers of same-sex couples who are willing to give a child a loving home and decent chance at success in life. A guy from my early school years is now raising two adopted children with his partner. Without these two men, those children would most likely be left to founder in the state's foster care system, missing out on those vital early years of care and support.

I find his unique combination of love of his craft, having fun and faith in others to bring about the final product; that his success is not tied to a particular project.

I'm going to have to check it out. Despite his scandal and everything, the guy has a near photographic memory and gives great speeches.

I'll be showing this one to the kids. On a related note, have you ever heard an airplane, looked up, and only found a bird overhead? Just for a fraction of a second it's the bird making the airplane sound ;-)

Cassybear, I'm thrilled for you guys that someone like that went out of their way to assist your husband like that, especially on a weekend! Considering all of the logistics of getting appropriate medical care (and then getting insurance to cover it!), this is a very heartening story. I was driving back from the allergist's office back in September of 2008, listening to CNN when the bottom fall out of the stock market. Margin Call brought back that feeling of desperation and helplessness but at least I got to learn a little bit about how the financial markets work.
