My great friend and wonderful designer Gerri Ann Duke has designed an calendar for Hilltop Memories! We are very excited! Each calendar page has our dates and locations for the weekend crops. Each month is individually packaged for easy scrapping. Most pages are cut and ready for adhesive. All you will need besides the adhesive is some additional embellishing (optional) like stickles. You will never have to sit around and wonder where Hilltop Memories is going to be, or when that next holiday is. GerriAnne did a great job on the front cover recreating our logo. The calendar is available... Continue reading

Oh my gosh!! I still cannot believe the hats. I am still in awe of all the fantastic entries. The creativity is just so unbelievable. I am going to try to post the pictures now. Fingers crossed. I am so dense about this Windows 7. All those commercials just make me feel like an idiot. Here is the winner!! Kelly West won the contest with this great hat. She used duct tape on the hat and found a great pattern for the shoes online. The feet looked just like mine when I used to have to wear heels and hose.... Continue reading

It is sad as a long time Tim fan and store owner to walk into a Michael's store and see Tim Holtz products on the shelves. I don't have a problem, or not a big one, seeing "older" stuff on the shelves but to walk in and see new stuff for sale, well below MSRP, is disheartening. It is very hard for us to compete with the constant berage of 40% off coupons, in your bag, in your mailbox, in your email box and forwarded from all your friends. I have taken your classes, I have carried your products. I... Continue reading

I would like to propose a theme for both. I would like to do Cream Cheese as the theme for the recipe swap. Your favorite cream cheese recipe. I am from the south and firmly believe that anything with Cream Cheese or bacon is good. I will save bacon for another recipe swap. The September card swap I would like to be Christmas. I loved our Christmas cards last year and would like to do this a bit earlier this year. Perhaps we will do it two months this year. So we will have them due at the Sept. Sarasota... Continue reading

As we grow and change over the years we sometimes make the decision to try something new. Come out of the box, venture into new territories and thats what we have done with Winter Retreat. Oleno State Park has served us well but was not by any means perfect. We had issues after issues and there comes a time when we have to make a change. In April, after 2 months of nagging voices in my head, I decided that I really didn't want to go back to Oleno. I didn't like the week we had, even if we never... Continue reading

Oh it was wonderful! We were in the Pavillon at Sun-N-Fun Resort and it was a fantastic room. We were fortunate to have the room set at the perfect temperature and the lighting was right on. It was perfect for scrapping and socializing and eating and scrapping and socializing and eating! The units we slept in were just the same, clean and very comfortable. It is rare to have a crop where there are no snags or complaints about something, even minor things. But we didn't hear anything but wonderful reviews and everyone was happy. Thank you Michelle McGuire once... Continue reading

============== Tuesday - Day 2 - BoBunny, and SEI, Oh My This will be our longest day, but well worth it. We'll grab a quick bite to eat at the Beartrap Lodge, then it's off to BoBunny (www.bobunny.com). We'll get a tour, and there's been a hint of something special they'll have for us. We don't know if it will be goodies, or a make-n-take, but I'm sure it will be awesome. From BoBunny we will make a stop for lunch at Burger Bar in Roy, Utah. It's a burger joint that was featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. They... Continue reading

First post ... General Things we'll be doing in while in Utah ======================== Here's the general outline of the sites we'll be seeing and the classes and things we'll be doing when we are in Utah this June. I will post pictures of the classes/events over the course of the next several days. So far we have 18 people going - the lodge we are staying at holds 24, so there is still time to jump on board and join with us. I spent all my money on the kit. I really wasn't all that sold on the others, they looked too much like last years or the year before to me. So I got the Kits -- and the paper packs with the album that matches. I also individual paper packs, rub ons and stickers. But I know Typepad will get funky if I list them all right now. So they will be in the store as soon as I get a ship date on them. Continue reading

Here are the classes that are being offered at Winter Retreat 2010. There are pictures, descriptions, price, supply list and teacher. When I post these to the store you will have 2 options on some of the classes. You can pay through the store or you can pay the teacher directly. In addition to the classes I will show you a photo of a kit that we will be selling. Leslie has created a wonderful Love Album that I saw on Facebook. I fell in love with it, wanted a kit and the next thing you know, I decided you... Continue reading

I have been emptying out the day care off and on now for a month. The last couple of days I have worked really hard at it. I have donated so much and I have very little left that we (Jimmy) will put out at a yard sale sometime. Until then I will find a place for it. There is a utility room at the day care. I think it used to have the washer but now it only has the hot water heater. It has shelves galore. It is behind what used to be the carport. The carport was... Continue reading
