Glee starts tonight in the U.K at 9pm on E4. We for one can't wait. We've had enough of miserable crime dramas and reality shows (though we are loving Vinnie Jones' contempt for Alex Reid on Celebrity Big Brother!), we need some light frothy fun for these god awful winter nights! Continue reading

At this time pretty much every year we get a bunch of lists and polls tipping lots of new acts for big things in the coming year. However we've decided to go against and the grain - we're fed up of reading about Marina/Hurts/Ellie Goulding thank you very much, and if we're honest, we don't see many of those new acts selling a massive amount of units. However, there ARE a number of things we ARE excited about, so here goes: Sia - new album 'We Are Born' The lovely Sia has been busy writing for the like Chrissy Aguilera... Continue reading

Lady Gaga – Bad Romance The only artist with two tracks on our top ten list, the year really did belong to Lady Gaga. Bizarrely, we initially dismissed this track – saying that it was messy and disjointed. However, this really is a song that rewards repeated listens, and what we initially thought were flaws, are indeed what makes this song so special. Sonically brave, and a massive step forward from her earlier material, this is undoubtedly the most exciting track of the year. And that’s without even taking the awe inspiring video into account. Bravo! Royksopp – The Girl... Continue reading

There's little you can say about how sad it is when someone dies so young - Brittany was only 32 at the time of passing. We were massive fans of Brittany - whether in her career defining role as Taj in Clueless 'You're a virgin. Who can't drive', or in her guise as full on club diva on Paul Oakenfold's 'Faster Kill Pussycat', pretty much everything Brittany touched turned to gold. She had a rare presence and charisma, but also a kookiness that made her light up every screen she graced. God bless you. x Continue reading

So, somewhat unpredicatably, this year's X Factor winner wasn't the usual X Factor schmaltz. Instead little Joe McElderry's 'The Climb' was beaten into second place by Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name' - a song propelled to the top spot on the back of an internet campaign to stop X Factor getting the Xmas number one for a fifth year in a row... As soon as it looked like RATM was serious competition, The X Factor lot went into PR overdrive - Simon calling the campaign 'spiteful' and wor' Cheryl harping on about how 'unfair' it was. Even... Before we start with our weekly X Factor roundup, we thought we’d address the lack of XFactor related pieces last week. We were actually stuck in the middle of nowhere on the Monday without any internet access – however, when we came to write the piece the following day, we realised that there wasn’t really much to say. Danyl was still shit. Joe still good but boring. Stacey still shakey and Olly still preposterous. We were actually, surprisingly, a bit sad about Lloyd going – he might not have been the strongest singer, but he was the closest they had... Continue reading

Sorry for being so late with this post. We're still reeling from the news that Rated R didn't make the top 10 last week. So come on. How many of you bought the Chris Moyles album! Identify yourselves! Yes it's Christmas. But surely as a nation we can't be that stumped for Christmas ideas! I hope you've all kept your receipts.... Okay. Rant over. Continue reading

You can exclusively listen to samples from American Idol winners album, imaginatively entitled Kris Allen. Can you let us know what it's like? We got bored by track 3. It's a shame that the cutest winner of a reality show is actually the dullest. :( Continue reading

At a time when artists are under pressure to churn out music on demand, Sade's follow up album will be out February 2010, an amazing ten years after multi platinum selling album Lovers Rock. This is amazing news! We had all but given up her! This is going to be one of the big albums of next year. How gorgeous is this artwork! A beautiful representation of what's to come. Continue reading

We're actually quite saddened at the album artwork for Angie Stone's new album Unexpected. Her weave looks like the hair has been yanked straight from the packet and placed on her head, while she makes the most unflattering pose astride a motorbike in what looks like a warehouse, or is it an abattoir? She seems to be looking faraway at something. Maybe it's a stylist running towards her to rip that awful mocha dress off her! Continue reading

The ever wonderful Kelis is back! But instead of The Neptunes, this time she's hooked up with David Guetta and this electro stomper is the result. It's fierce! A little bit techno with a sprinkle of disco, this is absolutely divine... We've missed her! Continue reading

01. OK. We’ll be honest. We actually missed this week’s X Factor. The first one of the whole series. We watched the performances the next day on Youtube however, and we’ve decided that maybe this is the best way of watching X Factor – we can fast forward the snoozesome introductions and judges squabbling, and you’re done in about 15 minutes! 02. In retrospect, George Michael week wasn’t a very good idea was it? It showed up the majority of the contestants as really average singers, whilst the majority of his memorable songs were inexplicably absent – Jesus To A... Continue reading

Whitney did a more coherant performance for the AMA's last night. She actually sang live for this unlike her bizarre performance on the X Factor. However her interpretation was still strange. Lots of dramatic pauses, and constantly doing some sort of echoey thing with the lyrics (the same, the same, the same, the same). It's just not the same Whitney that we used to know and love. What do you think? It was still better than Danyls hash of it! Continue reading

We can't make up our minds if we fancy Tom Hardy or not. He looked gorgeous in the new Kleenex advert, but we still can't get the image of him sporting that awful wig in Wuthering Heights out of our heads! Next year he's starring in the latest Christopher Nolan film Inception with our other new obsession Joseph Gordan Levitt. We feel we may go cross eyed watching them both on screen! Information on the film is still top secret. We haven't bothered showing you the trailer 'cause it's got Leonardo Di Crapio in it. Inception is out July 2010... Continue reading

There is no doubt that J Lo looks fantastic, even though it looks like she's been to Rod Stewarts hairdresser. We thought the video might redeem this tuneless wonder of a song, but it doesn't. This woman just cannot make a shit video (apart from the duet she did with Nelly)! It reminds us the 'Scream' video, but thats not a bad thing. It's a typical Janet video with lots of dancing and she looks amazing! You like? Continue reading
