This is so timely! I just got out my OA Christmas papers from past years to start making projects. I love the new Silent Night! It would be very nice if I didn't have to wait for it to show up at Paper Tales in San Diego/Point Loma.
Sneak Peek - Silent Night
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that a Christmas line soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of scrapbookin...

Howdy Doody, Miss Caroline!
I brought home some of My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline, the Howdy Doody collection, from CHA a couple of months ago. I have been dying to play with the line, but have been distracted by other projects that, once completed, served another purpose...like the Technicolor Deviled Eggs (for the boy's Risk party), Jello Cookies (for a fireside) and the Cake Batter Krispie Treats (for a school bake sale). I can always use cards, but I've gotten quite a stash right now, so I was putting it off. Cards are about the only thing that I have room to make right... Continue reading

Great idea! Very green egg appropriate!
Technicolor Deviled Eggs
If you are a "board member" on Pinterest, you know the feeling of panic you can get if you restrain yourself or you are not able to visit that site frequently. With me, I'm afraid that I am going to miss the next best thing to dyeing doilies...and guess what? I was fortunate enough not to miss...
My mom always said to eat colorful foods...do you think this counts:)

You could do different shades of green! Good idea!

I did notice a slight difference in the taste, but my boys and their friends had no complaints...they gobbled them right up. One of the friends said that they were "so delicious".
I have never eaten a pickled egg, so I'm not sure what they taste like. It would probably partially depend on how long you left them in the dye as well. Next time I make these, and that will be soon, I'll leave some undyed and do a taste comparison test and post my results.

Paradise, Little Yellow Bicycle Style
At CHA this January, I wandered into the Little Yellow Bicycle booth and caught a glimpse of their new line, Paradise...loved it! Then I got my hands on some...love it even more! Love the colors, love the texture and I really love the flower. It is always fun to have new product to play with, and I love the embellishments that are part of the Paradise line-up. I know how to make a pleated flower from scratch, but it is so easy to make one using LYB Paper Flower Kit, like the one on the above card. I also really... Continue reading

Rhodes Guest Blog: Chili Cheese Rolls...and a Giveaway!
Well, folks...it's my turn once again to have a spot as a guest blogger for Rhodes. This has been a fun experience, not only because I already love the Rhodes family of Bake-N-Serv products, but because it encourages me to experiment with recipes in their cookbooks. This month I chose to mak...
I have made "pigs in a blanket"...maybe ours should be considered "turkeys in a blanket because of the content of our hot dogs...they are quite tasty. Just roll out the room temp rolls (it might take 1 1/2 or 2 rolls, depending on the size of the hot dog) wrap and bake...not sure about the time, but probably not more than 20 minutes. Just keep your eye on them. If you want to do the little smokies will definitely take less than a whole roll. Sounds delish!

I think Megan has a great idea with the breakfast stuff. I would scramble the eggs first and then you can include other omelette favorites, like cheese, grilled veggies, sausage or bacon. Just keep in mind that you only use a small amount of the filling. Another idea is taco meat with a little salsa and cheese. Let me know what you try and how it turns out!

I think the breakfast one sounds great. The peanut butter and jelly one sounds messy to execute, but heck...go for it and let me know how it turns out!

Absolutely easy! And so yummy, too. The longest part is getting the rolls thawed. It can be tricky depending on how warm your kitchen is and how long it takes for your dough to rise, but the rest is a piece of cake...maybe bread would be more accurate!

I can't wait for it to warm up a little more so I can get the push pop containers out again...won't have to wait long in San Diego! Oh, and it works for pudding, too!
Frozen Yogurt Treats and a Summer Giveaway
The word "summer" invites a flood of visual images: kids splashing in a pool, lazy days at the beach, picnics at the park, fireworks and the 4th of July. For moms of young kids, its fighting off the "I'm bored" syndrome. Now that my youngest two are almost all grown, I no longer have to deal wi...
I was trying to remember back if I took the photos before or after the movie "Cars" from Disney/Pixar Studios; can't remember for sure, so it could have been a little influence there...or did they get their ideas from me? Heck, at this point I'm just going to say that great eyes see alike:)
Shiny Faces in the Hood
I love old things. Some go by the definition of antique, some vintage and others classic. I like antique furniture, vintage linens and especially old people. These are they that have endured the hazards of tangible existence and survived to be admired and loved by a new generation. They h...

200 Years of Coats and Clark
When I was walking up and down the aisles at CHA last month, something non-scrapbooking/paper/ribbon/embellishment-related caught my eye...a beautiful, large wooden spool...with drawers! What a wonderful piece! I know, it looks precariously perched towards the back of the table. The nice peo...
