And a Graeme Le Saux biography - do I detect another football fan in the zqc? :)

@ S. Can't wait, and yet am sort of dreading it too. New Year is always an emotional time for me, so am expecting to be in floods of tears. Still - I've got loads of tissues handy!
@ ziggyeor. Awesome is a brilliant word to describe the experience. I must admit I was a bit apprehensive going into the theatre, as I'd heard Godot was quite hard to get in to; but I needn't have worried. In the skillful hands of these 2 awe-inspiring actors it was a never-to-be forgotten experience. (and I was in the 4th row, so was up close and personal!!!!)
Happy New Year everyone. And congratulations to Patrick Stewart on his knighthood. In 2009 I had the great privilege of seeing him on stage (with the equally fabulous Sir Ian McKellan) in Waiting for Godot. Mesmerising! One of my absolute... Continue reading

Hello ZQC. Don't know if everyone else in the UK already knows this, but my friend has told me that he's seen, on the Radio Times web-site, that the new series of Heroes starts on the BBC on the 9th... Continue reading

Hey DobbyJunior. Have you read the biography "Dark Lover" by Emily W. Leider? Its superb (but sad!) with loads of great black & white photos. I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

@Trudi G. Have just watched The Waters of Mars - Amazing! I love the way David Tennant acts with his eyes (remind you of anyone?!) . He doesn't need to make any grand gestures to convey his emotions. I have a feeling this Christmas is going to be traumatic - I imagine the whole country will be in tears. Am now watching Doctor Who Confidential on BBC3, which as well as showing how this episode was made, is giving some pointers towards the Christmas finale - I can feel I'm already starting to get a bit emotional!

@Sunfell. I hope I'm not too late in joining this thread. I wonder if Zach really does think he 'sucked' at the audiobook. As you said earlier, he has a deep sense of self, so would realise the end product - if not perfect - was of very good quality. My theory, having watched the vid again, is that he used this as a technique to engage the member of the audience in a discussion. He would have known that the person was probably quite nervous at addressing him, and used his self-deprecating humour to draw her in to the conversation. I think that not only is he self-aware, but that he has a keen awareness of others (as evidenced by some of the other interviews we've seen) , and knew that humour would make her more relaxed - which is what happened. I don't know if I'm correct, I've not seen any other similar opinions, but that is the impression I get from that piece of film. Btw - I also hope that he does more audiobook work.

Confession time ! I was 53 on the 29th September. One of the things I love about ZQC is that its not age / gender specific, I don't feel I'm being judged just because I'm a 53 year old woman following the career of a 32 year old man. I may not post that often, but I love reading the rich variety of comments / views that everyone has, regardless of age, nationality, gender etc
Love the look on Masi Oka's face. Seems like he's also caught the ZQ love bug!!

Hi Gayle Glad you got to see Merlin this week. I wish they'd given Santiago a longer storyline, as I said before I think he's perfect as Lancelot and would love to see the Arthur / Gwen/ Lancelot story developed.

Judging by her earlier post, I don't think mmn is having a good time at the moment - so maybe her post was just a way of lashing out at someone or something. Perhaps, in the future she'll have another look at The Community and see it for what it is - people from all different cultures and backgrounds getting together in friendship. Hey, I don't always like or agree with some of the posts but, like all friends, you get over it and carry on enjoying each other's company. By the way, as someone who could never do all the photo / video posts that some of you guys do (technology never was my strong point!) can I just say "keep up the good work".. I love them!

You are a Star, fenraven - thank you so much for posting this. Knew I'd never be able to afford the trip to America, to attend ComicCon or Star Trek conventions, but am sure I'll be able to make it to Glasgow. Will start saving up straightaway. This is sooooooo exciting!

Hi Jenny I agree that we can trust the writers completely (the 1st Star Trek was so much better than I expected - as I inferred, I'm not into Blockbusters so was not too optimistic when I went into the cinema. I ended up returning 3 times, each time seeing more characterisation than the last) I don't expect to see a disaffected drug-addicted youth turning up on The Enterprise, but I like the idea of the goodies / baddies being ambiguous (does that make sense?) Without sounding too simplistic, I think the best films just tell the story, and leave the audience to make up it's own mind. I love your phrase "a little realism to my escapism" - that perfectly sums up my attitude to good Sci-Fi.

I agree - the audiobook is brilliant. I'd recommend it to everyone in the Community. After listening to it all the way through, I now dip in to it regularly (at least once a week) - in the same way that you dip into a favourite book. I think Zach was being unduly modest when he said it "sucked". Maybe he gave his opinion a bit too soon after completing the reading.(after all, if it lasts 8 hours, how long must it have taken him to record it?) Hopefully he'll now listen again and perhaps revise his opinion.

Hey Toni I don't know if this helps, but Converse have a section on their web site (www.converse.com) "custom design a shoe". Not being artistic, I've not tried it out so don't know if you'd be able to put enough detail on it, but may be worth a look. Plus, we all know Zach's a big fan of Converse so it might make them extra special!
