1.http://people.emich.edu/bfarah1/is/owen2.html This page contains all of the relevant links pertaining to buying, selling, or visiting the art fair. It shows a trendy picture which gives a younger feel to the viewer. I changed up some of the font to try and be more visual appealing. This is the first landing page which builds the blocks for other pages. 2.http://people.emich.edu/bfarah1/is/owen.html This page gives a listing of everything to expect at the art fair. It also contains an image of a dollar. With this image in place it allows the viewer to get the idea that they're getting a bargin. The ultimate goal... Continue reading

If this fight goes down (which is looking promising) it will probably be the biggest in professional boxing history. Both Mayweather and Pacquiao have so much skill in their hands that I'd hate to see either of them lose. Each fighter has had so much prize money and prestige in their career that it's really hard to say who's better. I guess we will have to wait until March 13th to see who the best fighter in the world really is. Continue reading

Way too many accidents are related to using cell phones. If people would just pay attention to what they're doing on the road we can save lives and money. I think the new bill that has been proposed is great. Basically if you're caught texting in Michigan you'll be ticketed. This has already been implemented in many other states across the country. Continue reading

Is it just me or does anyone else think that the rules have become far too strict in the NFL. Players can barely even hit each other hard without getting a penalty. They can't even get emotional in the game anymore it seems. With players receiving fines on a weekly basis most are scared to do much of anything. While other players can fight and knock each others heads off in the NHL. Adams from the Cowboys may be suspended which I think is absurd. He was merely just getting into the game. Continue reading

After a long run in the NHL veteran and Red Wing great Darren McCarty retires after 15 seasons in the NHL. He spent 13 of those seasons with the Red Wings winning 4 Stanley Cups in the process. Known for his hard hitting and ruthless game play; McCarty will be missed by all wings fan. Enjoy your time golfing! Continue reading

We had our first real snow fall last night which was pretty exciting. It's amazing how we're already done this semester and the holidays are upon us once again. I'm sure plenty of us will see 'A Christmas Story' playing on TBS this Christmas. Definitely a Christmas favorite. Just don't go and try to re-live any scenes from the movie. Continue reading

It has seemed to be a good year for the movie industry. Many large grossing films were released such as Transformers and Twilight. With projections of $10+ billion in yearly box office sales it looks like they are bouncing back from the recession. It's going to be interesting to see what films do well next year as I haven't really heard of any MAJOR releases for the upcoming year. Continue reading

Finally someone is stepping up and identifying the crisis that's been taken place in Israel for far too long. The UN and NGO requested $664.4 million to helping the Gaza strip. East Jerusalem has been destroyed and it's sad to see what's happening in this country. Hopefully this is the beginning of a large turn around. Continue reading

According to a study conducted by iYogi out of 100,000 users, 31,000 reported problems with upgrading. A lot of users are also complaining that during the upgrade process it gets to "62 % completed" but then just freezes. I'm curious if this will affect me when upgrading to 7 later this month. Regardless I don't think I'd ever own a Mac. Continue reading

I just found an interesting facebook group that pertains to Eastern Michigan students. It's basically a blog where students let others in on things they've heard at EMU. Trust me it's way better than it sounds. If you have the time to check it out I encourage you to join! Continue reading

very interesting let's hope it's not a discovery that leads to our doom.

"Tobacco is the leading preventable cause of death in the world". We all know this (or at least we should), yet millions of Americans still smoke everyday and expose others to second hand smoke. 94% of the worlds population is still exposed to second hand smoke because of the lack of smoke-free laws. Smoking kills more than 5 million people a year. So ask yourself next time you light your cigaratte if the people around you actually appreciate what you're putting into their air. Continue reading

Bad news for all those who lurk facebook on a regular basis. Facebook is implementing a new privacy standard that all users must abide by. If you don't then your page gets deactivated. This is a good idea because sometimes you don't want those gossip fueled co-workers to know what's going on in your everyday life. I'm sure it won't have an affect on most of us. Yet for those young users they are putting minor privacy locks on. Which is a great idea. Continue reading

I think it's time for us as a nation to wake up. Living in both Canada and the United States I've seen a huge difference in the attempts to save our environment. The most obvious difference is that there is no recycling collection with garbage. In Canada you're only allowed to have one bag of garbage and 2 recycling bins (paper/plastic+cans). With the Copenhagen climate change conference underway I hope some see the light. Taking on the Kyoto protocol agreement would both help our climate and create a massive amount of jobs in the USA. This past decade has been... Continue reading

For anyone who enjoys playing video games, a little too much, here's the website you've been looking for all your life. CEVO is a website that basically pays out gamers who win their tournaments. With prizes of $10,000+ could computer gaming eventually be on the same level as professional sports? There are tournaments all over the world for games such as Counter strike and Call Of Duty. The most notable tournament is called the CPL World Tour which pays out the best team $1 million. I'd take that. Continue reading

I couldn't be happier with making the CTR and click goals set for the course. Yet i feel like our Adgroup should've performed better. It seems like our CTR has always stayed around 2.4-2.7%. The charts I've been viewing have shown the same up and down trends all year long. Even though our current CTR is 2.71% I still think it can be improved and I look forward to learning how to do this in IS 379, Continue reading

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't it seem like most mac users use Windows programs? I mean why buy a mac if you're using predominately Windows programs...and furthermore why rage at the fact that Windows programs aren't working properly on a Mac? The Google Chrome beta was recently launched on the Mac and has a few bugs. What else would you expect from a beta? The fact of the matter is that Windows users don't go out of their way to find Mac programs. So really is Mac as good as everyone proposes it to be? Continue reading

This is a very interesting approach Google is taking. You'll be able to see search queries that are only seconds old. This should make for marketing on a different level and I look forward to seeing what companies do to optimize this option. I also wonder if this will affect the Google Adwords in anyway? Continue reading

I'm just wondering why anyone would want to buy a first generation driod (or any product for that matter)? The producer knows that it's basically the beta version of the product because they just throw it out there and wait to hear the problems that they can fix for the next generation. Some consumers have been seeing some terrible functionality with the driod. The main staple of apps are running better on competitors OS than that of the Google phone. I hope the producers can make this phone into all that it was cracked up to be. Continue reading

Bad news for Weezer fans as the lead signer of the group is in the hospital with 3 broken ribs. His tour bus crashed on the way to a show in Massachusetts. The band has canceled the rest of their Radititude tour but for good reason as there is no way any of them could perform. I'm glad that there were no fatalities in this incident and I look forward to hearing them make some new music soon. Continue reading

Both the Saints and the Colts went into this weekend undefeated at 11-0. However, while they were playing there was much speculation that both teams may actually drop the ball, so to say. Each of the teams were losing all game long until the very end when they mounted comebacks. Great games and I advise any football fans to watch the highlights. Continue reading

I found this article quite interesting as I never though that Google would actually come out with an OS. Before taking this class I thought Google was only a website search engine. Oh how wrong I was. Google's new Chromium OS project may take over the likes of Windows and Mac OS. This is pretty exciting as there as never really been a 3rd option when concerning OS. We'll have to see if it lives up to the hype! Continue reading

Sales rose 0.5% this year for black friday. On top of that searching also increased by an amazing 50%+ on google ads including search keywords such as: black friday ads and black friday sale. This is good news for not only retailers but the economy in general. Even though the increase probably wasn't as high as anticipated at least they didn't decline. Continue reading

Call it sabotage or whatever you want I think this is a good strategy on the behalf of google. They are currently in competition with Studio Briefing and it's obvious that Google wants more traffic through their news site so to me this is simply just business. Many may think this isn't ethically right however in the corporate world and especially on the internet it's a dog eat dog world sometimes. Continue reading

Keeping in mind that this is my first experience with HTML I feel like I have made progress. I tried to focus on quick and to the point information so that viewers can easily navigate their way to what they want. The main focus in my webpage design was to bring attention to both buying art and reserving your booth (for artists). Here are my links 1. main landing page http://people.emich.edu/bfarah1/is/owen2.html 2. booth sales page http://people.emich.edu/bfarah1/is/owen3.html 3. buying art http://people.emich.edu/bfarah1/is/owen.html I think that the 2nd page incorporates our google adgroup "Booth Sales" the best. It includes keywords found in our... Continue reading
