Stephanie! Eiric and I just moved to Houston, Texas yesterday. It was chaotic, as we flew from Norway with our cat and 6 suitcases to get here. BUT, you CLEARLY beat us in toughest travel ever! I can't imagine how stressed you are! I wish I could ask you about Houston. My gosh, this city is a LOT different from my hometown Roanoke, Virginia. Getting to our hotel last night (jet-lagged and totally confused) was the scariest experience! I can't wait to hear more about your move to Italy! Such a great experience for all of you! So happy for you! My best wishes to you all on your journey to your new home! :) xo

Hi, Stephanie! Your photos of the New England Spring are making me SO excited to move back to the U.S.! We're moving to Texas though, so I'm thinking we may not have much of a Spring! (I hope we don't melt!) It's going to be a shocker from what it's like here in Norway. Still some sweater weather left over here, and it's MAY! Driving me nuts! Also, sorry to hear you suffer from allergies too! I have noticed I'm sneezing more frequently all of the sudden. Just when I think I have a handle on it. Good luck! I take Zyrtec daily, though you've probably already tried that. Have a happy day! xo -Cary

Wow! I know you all will be sorely missed, but what a great experience, especially for your girls! Plus, since we moved to Norway last Summer, we're a little closer now! If we find ourselves planning a trip to Italy at any point I will be sure to contact you! :) Congrats! Best of luck!

I'm so glad to see you blogged about this! I agree 100%! I'm not sure if I shared it before with you, but when my boyfriend Eiric and I went up to New York in December of 2010 Richard met with us at the Half King. We talked for about an hour or so about a ton of things (I was so nervous I didn't know what to say hardly!), and it was the most incredible thing! What really shocked and overwhelmed me was when right before he was about to leave he stood in front of me thanking ME for my support for him. I couldn't even believe it. So yes, you are SO right. He IS such a good-hearted person that the world truly is a better place with him in it. :) Before he left I somehow managed to stop him to give him a hug. Normally I would be way too shy to do that, especially with someone I admire and adore so much. When I first heard of his missing in Syria all I could think about was that night and that hug and how I wish I could do all of it over again. I was so relieved waking up to the good news the morning after that I cried tears of relief! Anyway, so sorry for my rambling! Just wanted to share that with you. Lots of love to the Howells! I wish I could meet you all someday; I adore your family so much! :)

Oh this is so beautiful! I can never read your posts without getting tears in my eyes. They really get me to thinking and appreciating everything in life, and you should be VERY proud of that. I always think of how hard it is to be apart from Eiric when he goes back to live in Norway, but also how blessed we are and how it is absolutely nothing compared to being a military girlfriend/wife. Every time we have to say good bye, he and I both talk about that and how much we appreciate people like you who go through such tough times with so much support and strength for each other. It's SO wonderful and beautiful. Thankfully, he will be moving here in just under two weeks, but even though we won't be saying good bye, we will still be thinking about those of you out there who still do and will be thinking of you and supporting you through your separation. And though you may be far apart, you're always close in heart. Take care, Stephanie! :) XO

I'm truly at a loss of words. Thank you so much for showing your heart in so many of your posts, especially this one. Reading through this left me with tears streaming, and a headache that only comes from that. My whole heart goes out to these unbelievably brave soldiers, and their equally unbelievably brave families. Though, as you say, that's not all that we can do. I've made it a goal that when I get myself a job (hopefully soon) I'll be doing all I can to really support our troops. There will never be a limit to what we can do for them. Thank you so much for this post. God Bless you and your family. All military families, and their brave soldiers away from home.

Good morning, Stephanie! I love your post this morning. It's very moving that something you love doing comforts you and makes you stronger. I love that. Not many people have that gift. I know that your daughters will love keeping your scrapbooks when they get older. They are so precious! I've seen scrapbooks of all kinds (my aunt actually does them A LOT as well), but yours are very unique in my opinion. Some people just put down whatever they have from the day, but you put meaningful memories in yours. Not to mention, you're very good at it! Keep doing what you love! I'm glad I found you on here. You're honestly a very inspiring woman! You have a beautiful day! -Cary
