10 Song_For_Every_Ex.mp3 - I really love songs and I really love girls, so it stands to reason that I would really love it when the two got together. My buddy and I were talking the other day about how sometimes songs may not match an experience, but instead give you a familiar feeling. I fuckin love that feeling. I love anything that can transport me to another part of my life, be it good or bad. Every experience is an opportunity to grow if you allow it to be, and it's always amazing to see how you've grown. I use... Continue reading

Revolution is Here Originally uploaded by MostaishereTonight, I voted in the runoff election in NYC. If you live here, I hope you did too. I fully and freely admit that I was an asshole, all those times that I did not vote. My ancestors died and faced humiliation so that I could go in that booth and pull a lever for the potential of change or even to protect the status quo. I will never not vote again. I love you grandpa! Continue reading

Tonight, I watched two music videos. For the most part, I don't watch them because they're addictive and stupid. Addictive, because I like girls, sneakers and cars as much as the next short black lesbian. And they're stupid, because for the most part no new technique is ever employed. I watched the new Drake video for the song "Forever" and I won't say that it was void of creativity, it's from the soundtrack for the new Lebron movie and there are some great photos of a young king in the video. But Drake is behind the usual dark backdrop and Weezy... Continue reading

The Philadelphia Free Public Library System, which is fuckin' awesome by the way has been in great peril months. Legislators have been unable to agree on the State's budget and this put the library systems funding to a halt as of Oct. 1 In Pennsylvania, unlike in New York law makers were able to set aside their differences long enough to pass legislation that will keep their constituents from being without an essential service(think the hold on Mayoral Control). Respect! Brotherly Love! Continue reading

Empire State Of Mind from Brock Mills on Vimeo. Your friends are probably not as cool as mine. Sorry. Wanted to take the opportunity to shout out my homie Brock Mills real fast. This is not like, we meant last month and I decided we were best friends. This is damn we just spent all of our money on Jordans share a slice of pizza homie. We use to have a little rap group together called B.Mills and Mosta, about two years ago B decided that hip-hip might not be his personal calling and at that point he decided to... Continue reading

I think I made some pretty damn good decisions today. I bought Kid Cud's album and it's fucking awesome. I love it. I won't call it hip-hop, I won't call it R&B and I certainly won't call it pop. This is music without borders. Pump up the volume. I did not buy into Inez Dickens when I pulled that voting lever today. We, as young and younger people have to speak to our parents and elders and ask them to aid us in kicking these motehrfuckers who have created an establishment which cheats folks out of fair housing and young... Confession, there's not enough time in my day to listen to an hour long album. I did however listen to the vast majority of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2, and this is the year of the Old(er) man. Tales of crime and beautiful shady women throughout. I don't realize how much I need a new Wu Album(when I say Wu I mean Ghost,Rae and Meth) until I get one. It's like not appreciating Columbus Day until you get that motherfucka off. It's not nearly as exciting, vivid or funny as Fishscale,my personal favorite Wu solo album( I could have done... I know I'm a day light and a 16 short, but Only Built for Cuban Linx 2 was released yesterday and I just copped. I'll review it tomorrow. Can't wait to get into it. All I gotta say is BP3 and OB4CL2 were two of the most anticipated albums of the year. Both were made by men over 35, young dudes defend themselves against vets like this by throwing their age into the equation. If this guy is rapping half as well as he did a decade ago, I'm gonna write Kane a letter and ask him to come out... Continue reading

For starters, if you didn't love/like "Kingdom Come" (it came in the red wrapping) this shit is not for you. I'm not gonna repeat everyone else and say that Timb did Jay dirty, but he did. What's really important is that this guy can fuckin rap, like no other and that's to be respected. It's clear that he worked with Timbo to take advantage of this new pop movement, all of this music without limits and borders. I respect it, but there should be more production by Pharell and Kanye. All of the music produced by Timbaland sounds disjointed, it... Continue reading

I'm ashamed to say that I've jumped on the David Sedaris bandwagon quite late, much like the Santigold and plaid bandwagons. Sometimes the hipsters and the uber-intellectuals have it right. Recently, a lot of the folks that I'm around have been speaking of inspiration and drive to do it(whatever it may be) bigger and badder. The Rooster is the story of Sedaris' brother who lives life on his own terms and is happy with who he is. He's the southern accented, under-educated, extremely short, potty mouthed black sheep of the family. The Rooster is unabashedly different and diminutive but fancies... Continue reading

This bitch was back and on TV. I remember being a youngster and driving with my mom in our family car, a Burgundy Camry to the far away land of D.C.. I'm from Philly, so it was only a two hour drive, but I was pre-pubescent so there were no pretty girls to daydream about. My mom has never been a connesieur of great music, but she did introduce me to Whitney and Luther. On that journey to D.C. we listened to Whitney Houston's I'm Your Baby Tonight C.D. Though at partys and hispter socials I would normally say that... Continue reading

Dear David Patterson, You're Black, you're from Harlem, you're Blind, you're a man of the people and I want to like you, shit everyone wants to like you, but last week you dissed Dominic and this week you shaved your damn beard. No,no,no. Governor Patterson, most people can't spell Cuomo but they'll no enough to pull his lever(pause) when they vote in the primary. My advice is to grow the beard back and start backing up your budget cuts. Ya Dig? Concerned Democrat, Mosta Continue reading

Growing up, I was always the chubbiest kid in the bunch. I just read a great article in the Times about parents steering their children towards healthier ways of eating. Mom and Dad made a lot of good decisions, but they definitely used some bad modeling and parenting strategies when it came to food, exercise and weight. Don't cry for me Argentina, gene wise I swim in a great pool and my collegiate experience introduced me to soy(my stomach no longer hurts), the treadmill and walking up to 3 miles to avoid purchasing a metro card. Continue reading

Aging hipster teaches young hipster the art of a cultural past time. I guess it's not just for the hipsters, it's actually the second fastest growing sport on the planet. It lags only behind soccer, which not even David Beckham could get American's to like. Continue reading
