So pretty! I am not good at following crochet patterns, but I've decided to do your teaching children how to crochet series and see if that helps me. Maybe someday I'll be making my own crocheted rug.
A Crocheted Rag Rug Doily In Progress!
Crocheting rugs from rags, or rather from yarn that you make from old sheets is just so much fun, I just had to start another one! But this time I'm doing something a little different, in that the end result will be a simple flower shaped doily, and I'm using the double crochet stitch rather t...
Great dress, looks fabulous on you.
Peachy gauze dress
First I must apologize. After making a four month pledge at the beginning of July, I went on an epic family visit which swallowed that month in it's entirety slurping the past few weeks worth of productivity down with it. So, here I am on August the seventh typing my first post of the pledge. Sor...
Nice job, Mom. I think the strawberry dress is adorable.
Little Girl Wardrobe Additions
It's almost back to school time here in CT and I've been working on a few things for my daughter. And she loves this dress. I got it for her for 2.00: It looks like it's never been worn. More pics of these projects on my blog.
Would love to craft with those scraps!
Weekend adventures + Fabric Giveaway!
Oops! Remember there was a lovely post here? Well... it magically disappeared for reasons I'm yet to discover! Even though the post disappeared, the GIVEAWAY didn't go anywhere, hahah! I didn't know what happened but all the comments are still there, 324! Check out the lucky winner in my new...
That is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful work, great fabric.
Grey wool coat
I've been doing some stash busting. This is made from some fabric I bought on a whim a while ago, when I decided to use it for McCalls 5525 it took some cutting magic to get the pattern out of the fabric as I didn't have enough and the store had sold all of the roll... (nooooooo!) Where there...
Great outfit. Wish I'd thought of designing a top like that!
Charcoal jersey outfit
I made this top, drafted from the book Pattern Magic by Takamichi Tomoko and matching skirt of my own design out of sturdy charcoal grey jersey knit. The top is an amazing pattern, cut all in one piece and all skewed so it ends up in twisted interesting folds around the body. The skirt is veee...
The color, the style, the texture, everything about it is appealing!
Too short sweater re-fashion
It's been a few weeks since my last re-fashion! It's always great to come back here and see brand new people. :) Today I went through my closet and pulled out a bunch of tops I never wear, swearing to myself that I would try to do something with them before buying anything new. (New relatively s...
I love it! Perfect for a summer party.
Cardigan Refashion
Regina Moore - My Wardrobe Refashion - Garment #5 I took two cotton crocheted, thrifted sweaters and made this. I have more details and pictures on my blog.
Very pretty!
Day Dream Floral by Heidi Grace
This morning I finished this bag: Then I was looking at fabric on etsy and right away here was the same print: It is cute and very summery. I like that it has several different colors in a few shades. That always makes it easier to find a matching fabric for the lining.
I just finished Read My Pins Stories from a Diplomat's Jewel Box by Madeleine Albright.

I am sorry for posting this so late! I thought I had it set for the right time. Big OOPs on my part! For my giveaway I am offering one of the new items in my shop. It is a large cotton tote bag that you can take with you in the purse car or stroller. It is so big you can fit many books, gro...
I would love to carry that little orange bag around. You did a great job on it.
Meanwhile, back at the sewing machine...
Things have quietened down a bit on the sewing front since I came down from my Spring Top frenzy, but the Elna and I have been pottering through a few bits and bobs, so here's a catch up... Remember all those Danielles? My final Spring Top was a crossed-bodice version and to mock it up, I made ...
My favorite is chocolate/cherry.

Minnekonta Mocs from high to low
Hi ladies! This is another shoe refashion, I'm a shoe-lover you know. I thrifted these mocs but I didn't like them high, they look too Pocahontas and I wanted the ankle version but I never found them, so when I finally found these at the thrift store for $7 bucks I decided to take matters into m...
I bet you got lots of compliments on it.
Hello everyone!
Well my first post, I just wanted to introduce myself to you all creative ladies. My name is Shey and I live in Texas, I love thrift store shopping and I also love vintage and refashioning my clothes. I'm a beginner level at sewing, but I hope to learn more. I've been following this site for a y...
Love, love, love the solar system throw!
New(ish!) signup - hello WRorld!
Hello all! This signup represents my third session with WR but the first in some time. My WRing and sewing lives slipped into the background for about a year while getting through minor inconveniences like being proper poorly (urgh!) and getting divorced (double urgh!!), but now that the dust ...
I love the fabric. Great project!
Dia de Los Muertos Sundress
Because, you know, nothing says "sunshine" like celebrating the dead. :) I made this sundress from scratch without a pattern and actually pretty pleased with the way it turned it out. (And look at how long my hair is! I am getting it cut and colored tonight, thank goodness!) I used fabric I ha...
Very cute!
Zippers...
I have a big collection of zippers which I picked up from the treasure shop. I have made a few things with them but this is by far my most favourite zipper creation. Firstly I don't have to worry about breaking my needle on my machine as you just hand sew them. Secondly I can whip one up pretty ...
I love that you've not got not only a much nicer dress but two pieces that work independently as well.
Where Do My Bluebirds Fly?
I got this sack of a dress ages ago and it has taken me just as long to figure out what to do with it. Because of the drop waist style I thought it might be hard to alter it into a wearable dress so I decided I could at least chop the skirt off and make something out of it. I ended up turning o...
Her critique just made my day. What a little sweetie.
My Little 6-Year-Old Designer
My daughter is just as into Project Runway as I am (go, Seth Aaron!). For Christmas, she got the Project Runway design kit, complete the projector and slides to design her own outfits. We decided that we'd make an actual outfit from one of her sketches, and we did. Here's the original sketch ...
That looks wonderful on you!
Refashioned 80s suit
Sorry, no photos of the original, but this is how it turned out. I love it so much and I can't wait until it's warm enough again to wear it. Please come and visit my blog!
I like how they look too!
Shoe Refashion
Hello again crafty refashioners! I'm back with a shoe refashion, this was my first shoe refashion, very easy to do. I thrifted these booties for $1.75 a bit boring as they were... I bought some studs at Hobby Lobby for $3 used my pliers and voila! I really liked the way they look now.
I love seeing household items here and especially like that this was stuffed with plastic bags. That it doubles as a toy makes it even sweeter!
Mother in law's horrible trousers > doggy draught excluder. Result!
Hi again! I'm most impressed that I have managed to post twice in two weeks now, so long may this spirit last. This week's creation is not technically something to wear but certainly made from something that was once worn: ex-MIL's old nasty trousers. Stuffed with plastic bags (great way...
Lovely write up. Congratulations!
Listen and read about Wardrobe Refashion
I was recently interviewed by Radio Netherlands for their EarthBeat show. You can listen to it here. Then today i received a copy of Stitch magazine in the post. It's a great mag and dare i say my favourite copy, i may be biased though since my article about Wardrobe Refashion in featured o...
I love that you're even reusing the wipes!
Quilted Cards
Yes, these are not clothes, they're cards..... but they're made from scraps!I made some quilted note cards out of fabric scraps. I'm working on several more. It's really easy and fun. 1)I stitch the pieces together, 2)iron them flat, 3)trace a rectangle template onto the wrong side, 4)cut out ...
