Senior Pics - the last of the bunch - a Sister Session
This last batch of pics has a special place in my heart. My oldest and her BFF Megan, who you last saw back in February, wanted to take pictures with their sisters. I thought it was such a cute idea so I was game. This time we headed downtown and to the Crossroads area. So fun! These are all in random order: Cate and Megan in downtown KC. Here's Megan -downtown, across the street from the Kauffman Center. Cate on the side of the Kauffman Center. This is Lauren, Megan's sister. Here's Lizzie - with the Kauffman Center in the... Senior Pics - Katie
Today it's Katie's turn. Katie is the daughter of my friend, Kristen. Kristen and I work out together and see each other at 5:30 in the morning a few times a week. It was fun to get to hand out with Kristen and Katie during day lit hours! Katie is a super fun girl who is looking at going into Nutrition and joining the marching band. She has really fun style and was a joy to shoot! This picture was shot at Iron Woods Park. My blue door! Again! I still love it! Loose Park. (Also, I want that skirt... Continue reading

Senior Pics - Anar
I actually do shoot senior pictures for boys, too! I actually really love to do senior pictures for guys. They are so easy-going about the whole thing. They take direction really well! And they are always super fast. Anar is actually from Iceland but he and his family have lived in the states for something like 10 years? They are moving over to Denmark this summer. It was really a fun experience to get to hang with Anar and his parents for a morning. Plus, I learned a little about Iceland! All these pictures were taken down in the West... Continue reading

Senior Pics - Audrey
In the last post, you saw Megan. Well, here is Audrey - one of Megan's good friends. She is adorable and super smart, I loved her mom, and we had a blast! In front of the flowers at Loose Park. I love the grit against her white jeans and springy top. This was shot in the West Bottoms. Back to Loose Park. Here is my favorite blue door down in West Bottoms. I love this bridge at Loose Park. The weeping willow in the background is just too perfect. West Bottoms. West Bottoms I love me a good graffiti wall.... Continue reading

Senior Pics
I realized I failed to share any of the senior pictures I took last year due to my self-imposed months long blogging break. Oops! So I thought it would be fun to go ahead and post them now. Rather than stick them all in one super long post, I'll share them over the next few weeks. Enjoy! First up, my daughter and her BFF, Megan. Of course we took these less than a week after she had her wisdom teeth removed and it was about 150* outside! (OK, maybe it was only 90-something - but still, super hot!) I love... Continue reading

I'm so sorry you had an issue with Lumber Liquidators, too! We would like to put some sort of hardwood floor product down in our basement and I will never step foot into a LL store again. Period. I tell everyone I know to avoid the store b/c they will sell you a defective product just to make a few bucks. Good luck!
A Product Review: Morningstar Bamboo Click Floors
We began the process of installing new hardwood floors last October. Actually, if I want to get really precise, we began researching hardwood floor options months prior to October! I really, really wanted to share what a fabulous experience we have had. Unfortunately, the opposite is true. S...
Thanks, Jess! I I'm glad you enjoyed. Hopefully you can catch up with your friends soon!
Six + Six = Twelve on Sunday
Oh boy! It's been nearly a month since I've been here. And I don't think I even posted my last post to social media. Oops. It's all good. I think this may become more of a monthly thing than weekly but I think that's fine. Let's get caught up, shall we? 1. I have wrapped up my obsession...

Oh boy! It's been nearly a month since I've been here. And I don't think I even posted my last post to social media. Oops. It's all good. I think this may become more of a monthly thing than weekly but I think that's fine. Let's get caught up, shall we? 1. I have wrapped up my obsession with puzzles. For now. I'm certain it will visit again. We put together a 500 piece puzzle in about 24 hours. No biggie. Then we put together a 1,500 piece puzzle in about a week and a half. It was super worth... Six on Sunday
So I'm blogging early today b/c Chiefs! It's been a fun season to follow along. Not that I ever have the patience to sit still for four hours, I have seen some of the games and they've been really good. So I'm really excited for tonight. 1. Early last week they said we were going to get another big snow storm. We were all so excited for the snow. And then? Womp womp. Nothing. Maybe a dusting. It was so disappointing! 2. We had the first orchestra concert for #4 last week and it was so adorable. The kids actually... Continue reading

Hello! I have to admit, I'm not really feeling it tonight. I think this will be a short one. But better something than nothing, right? 1. We went to Arkansas this weekend to visit my mom. We ended up pulling the kids out of school a little early to miss the rain turning to snow/ice. We had a nice weekend. Friday was just casual hang out and eat pizza. Then Saturday we did an escape room in Fayetteville. Only my middle two have ever done an escape room so it was new for the rest of us. We loved it... Continue reading

Six on Sunday...first one of 2019!
It's 2019. Let's go! 1. I missed blogging the last three weeks of December. Oops! Time just got away from me. We had a very busy month. We volunteered making and serving dinner at the Ronald McDonald house room at Children's Mercy Hospital. We adopted a solider and wrote him letters and sent him a care package. We made toys for Wayside Waifs and blankets for Project Linus. We made about a bazillion cookies and delivered them to our neighbors. But most of all? We spent a lot of time together as a family. And it was great! (Well, mostly... Continue reading

Hello! I'm happy to be here tonight because it means I made it through last week which was LONG! I'm ready for Christmas break. I think this will be a quick one tonight with a little "chatting" and a lot of pictures. So let's get going, shall we? 1. I just finished our Christmas cards yesterday afternoon. They are officially ordered from Costco. Hopefully I can get them addressed and mailed ASAP. Here is one of our pics that didn't make the cut. (Because I literally cut off my own foot - thanks to my tripod.) It feels great to... Continue reading

Six on Sunday
Hello! We made it to December. It's hard to believe there is less than one month left in 2018! 1. The Holiday season has officially begun. And I am not sad about it. I love this time of year! As per usual our elf, Ralph, showed up yesterday, December 1st. However, he was nowhere to be found when the girls rolled out of bed; thus, a bit delayed. The little girls were absolutely beside themselves when they looked everywhere and couldn't find him. The girls opened the Advent calendar and the activity of the day was a visit with Santa... Hello. Are you staying warm and dry? I'm loving this storm outside. It's so pretty. 1. Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? We sure did. The weather was pretty much perfect and we had a house full of family. As per tradition, we started the morning off with the Thanksgiving 5k. Seriously, the weather gorgeous and I was dressed perfectly - not too hot and not too cold. I love that! While waiting for dinner, we feasted on snacks and especially these, deviled eggs are my favorite and Jason makes them every year! We also had to measure to see... Continue reading

Six on Sunday
It's almost Thanksgiving! We're all really excited for a short work/school work. That means I only have to get up at 5am three days this week. Bonus!! 1. We had a birthday this week. This girl turned 12! Her requested dinner was shrimp, risotto, and roasted asparagus. Yum! Now that is a dinner I can get behind. (Yes, I wrapped her present in Christmas paper because that was all I had. Better wrapped than not!) She was definitely spoiled on Thursday. Her friend picked her up at 7am and took her to Starbucks for breakfast! She had another friend bring... Continue reading

Hello! How was your weekend? Ours was great! 1. Last week I ran out of time to "talk" about a couple things, so I'm going to catch up here. First, #1 was inducted into National Honor Society. Most kids apply for it their junior year but she was just swamped last year and didn't have the time to apply. I was really impressed that she took the time to apply this year!I knew nothing about it, she just asked me if I wanted to come to her induction. Uh, yes! It was really well done and I was impressed with... Continue reading

Hello! I'm back after my week hiatus while I was in Hawaii. It was awesome. But more about it later. I am feeling chatty tonight so this could be a long one. Let's get rollin'... 1. Yesterday I took #1 and her best friend, Megan, plus their sisters and we did some fall senior pictures downtown. We had so much fun! The girls are really so funny and I learned some new words from the Urban Dictionary. For instance, I now know if I look stuntin' or I'm flexin'. Plus, I know how to spot an Insta Baddie. (They are... Continue reading

Hello! Welcome to week 3. My streak will end next week, though. But I'm here tonight so let's get started. 1. I actually don't feel like I have a lot of juicy info for you this week. We've just been plugging along at our normal pace. Work, school, tennis, soccer, swim, volleyball, and soccer. All is well, though, so that is good news. 2. This was a crazy busy weekend for us! The hubby and #3 spent the weekend in Memphis at a soccer tournament. In fact, they still are not home yet. I know their games were decent and... Continue reading

Hello! How was your weekend? Did you get snow?! I know a lot of the upper midwest and Colorado got snow today. Crazy. It seems too early! Anyway, I'm gonna get going... 1. I don't think I talked about my up-coming girl trip last week, did I? Anyway, if you call the end of January "up-coming", we are on the same page. My girlfriends from college and I are all meeting up in San Antonio for a long weekend. I'm so excited!! It's been far too long since we've all been together and I can hardly wait. If you have... Six on Sunday IS BACK!
Can you even believe it?! I'm back! While I never intended to take a 5 month break, it was really needed. We had a super busy month of May and then summer hit and I would rather be sitting at the pool with the family on Sunday nights rather than blogging so that's what I did. I'm not sure if this will go back to a weekly deal or every other week or monthly, but I'm not going to worry about it. I enjoy having this little corner of the internet and that's all that matters! So, sit back, relax,... Continue reading

Stop! It's Picture Time!
If you get that reference, we are definitely friends. If you don't get that reference, we can still be friends but I must teach you about M.C. Hammer! Anyway, it's been over four months since I've posted. It's the longest break I've ever taken from blogging. And honestly, I didn't set out to take a break, it just happened. And then I enjoyed it. But now I kind of miss it. So, I'm back. I'm not sure if I'll do a Six on Sunday post every week, every other week, or once a month. But I'll figure it out. I... Continue reading

Hello! Did you have beautiful weather like we did this weekend? I sure hope so because it was AWESOME! 1. We just had one of those weekends that was perfect! You know the kind I'm talking about? It was just such a great mix of outside time (lots of it!), family time, project time, meal prep. Basically, it was the perfect weekend. I loved it. My weekend started out Friday night at the school carnival. Since the hubby worked one of the stations, I left early (I'm basically over that kind of stuff) and headed to Home Depot. Now THAT... Hello! How was your weekend? It feels as if spring might be finally on her way. My fingers are crossed the 60* temperatures stick around awhile! 1. So yesterday morning I was sitting on the couch, barely awake, drinking my first cup of coffee when this picture floated across my screen: MY SISTER GOT ENGAGED!!!!!! I was floored! But in a good way. I am, well we all are all so excited for her and Jason and the kids. They have everything planned and we just have to get ourselves to Vail, CO on Aug 11th to watch them get... Hello from the Tundra. Seriously, I think the windchill was supposed to be 18* here today. That's just stupid. It's April 15th, not January 105th! Ugh. 1. We had another birthday in our household...#4 turned 9 years old today! She loved being the birthday girl all day and milked it for everything it was worth. For example, we had to run to Home Depot and she managed to walk out of there with a Kit Kat since, you know, it was her birthday. Sometimes I'm weak. Her requested dinner tonight was pasta with a naked sauce (butter/olive oil + garlic),... Continue reading

TEN on Sunday
I'm back after a one week hiatus. I feel like we have a lot to catch up on after two weeks. So let's go... 1. We celebrated a birthday in our family a week and a half ago. The hubby turned 45! His actual birthday was really hectic and busy with a swim meet, soccer game, and working the concession stand. So we waited until Saturday to take him out for dinner. We tried the Martin City Brewery and it was really fun! The atmosphere was great, the food good, and the beer great. I would recommend it if you... Continue reading
