yeah this article is done..add to that 7 Grammys; and its amazing that this hip-hop culture finally has an artist who can be mentioned with Elvis and who is now more successful (in terms of albums charted). Hip-hop, which has only been here 30 years or so, has an artist that should be a first ballot Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer, and has given this genre just as much strength through his accomplishments as the artists that pioneered this genre we call Rap/Hip-Hop.

Ja Rule: is it safe to say that, had he stayed on the more hard, gritty path in a lyrical sense, and never started singin the R and B hooks, and never signed with Murder Inc...just all-in-all took his career in a whole other direction...is it safe to say he would be relevant today? Would we be speakin about Ja Rule in terms of being a nice MC today, at least semi-hot? (this is a serious question for all the hip hop heads here)?

Not sure what I think of Rhianna. Pink is a better all-around everything in the game than Rhianna. Until Rhianna can impact the music game like Pink has (even a fraction of an impact), then she is pretty much not worth being mentioned. At best, she should return to Caribbean sounds.

Sad to say being from Cali, but another 213 album will do nothing to revitalize West Coast rap. It appears West Coast Rap was just a phase. Dre will come back hard with Detox and thats great! But what happens after that becomes a classic and gets stacked with the rest of history? Noone in the West is comin hard with shit. We have arguably the 2 best producers this game has ever seen (Dre, DJ Quik; honorable mention to DaZ & Battlecat), but noone in the West to compliment that production quality with lyricals that will help West Coast Rap be relevant for years to come.

T.I. is there, LUDA is (underrated and) there, 3-Thou/BiG Boi..all better than Wayne. If you asked 50 Cent and Jay Z each to release a box set, which box set would sell more, which box set would have more CD's inside the box (full of hits), same with Em, Nas, and a slew of others...Jay-Z's box set would be the only one that would be a legit box set, with noteworthy, ground-breaking, classic hip-hop representation in abundance!! As great as Illmatic is, its 1 album... The rest of them dont have as many hits and would have to fill a box set up with previously unreleased tracks.

Get Rich or Die Tryin is a rap classic...to me, everything else 50 dropped was pretty much garbage compared to Jay Z's body of work; it can be argued that 8 of the 11 solo albums are rap classics.
