Funny, I was just thinking about this text. I remember originally reading it in a newspaper (maybe the Globe & Mail), so may have passed it on to you. Thanks for posting, I was just about to go hunting for it!
suggested resolutions….
it’s new year’s resolution time. i write resolutions every year, and find publishing them a good way to hold myself more accountable. i was looking back in my “goals” folder to write resolutions for 2011 and found this list. i’m not sure where I got it originally. i only know I didn’t write it b...
+1. I'm afraid to go anywhere near Stockton & Market for fear I'll accidentally buy one. And an iPad. And another Mac Mini.
Yes, the Redmond is finally coming out of the girl...
The 11-inch MacBook Air
Tiny. Solid. I picked the wrong week to post a snippet of the Daily Show on my site. Hey [Daily Show](http://www.thedailyshow.com/). H.264. Look it up. This is why Snow Leopard has a smaller footprint. This is why iTunes doesn't have a title bar anymore. Seriously. Tiny. I need to try rebooting i...
Very much looking forward to what you come up with next.
Less talk, more rock
I've been trying to rationalize the decision, but it's clear what feels right to me. With the dissolution of Six Apart into the Say Media cocktail, I choose not to follow in the new adventure of some great people I've worked with during, in a few cases, all 6½ years I've been with the company. W...
+1. I wanted to like this more than I did. (And I have my own obsession about seeking out selvage denim. Whole other post.)
I think the difference between this and the first two in the trilogy is that PR & SC were centered around things that are "now", but still obscure and new to us where as the narrative objects in ZH are...well...common. There's nothing obscure about the concept of an obscure brand or Ace hotel-like club. I'll sort give him the balloons...but I don't think my mind would be blown if I saw one on the street.
zero history touches the x axis
I just finished William Gibson's Zero History, and while I'm a fan of his characters and his prose, something bothered me about the new book: it's set now. While I'm not a hard core fan or student of Gibson's work, I've read most of his novels. Neuromancer and the sprawl trilogy? Felt way out in...
Oh, strange. I wrote that before reading Sippey's post. Great minds, or obvious solution? ;-).
Massimo Vignelli’s Desk
It’s *haunting* me now. What *does* Massimo Vignelli do about [his MacBook’s power cord](http://www.sippey.com/2010/10/even-massimo-vignelli-needs-a-power-cord.html)? [This scene from “Helvetica”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhMKHXLBZrc) is no help. Here’s what I’d want: ![Desk](http://walt.ty...
[this is good]. Well, minus the pain part.
Pain is only a sign is you're still alive
Today, the Around the Bay 30 km was a pretty simple story. Interesting in a couple of ways, but fairly straightforward. We got up and rolled out of the house at about 7:30 for the trip over to Hamilton, and the start at Copps Coliseum. The kids were neutral, and were mainly excited about the ...
