I love knitting as metaphor. Stephanie Pearl McPhee came to Saint Paul and during her speech she put it this way - knitters make the best advocates and activists, because they understand the importance of cumulative action. One stitch at a time, one idea at a time, one person at a time, it's a powerful thought. Lovely sweaters!

I wish I had some Wallace and Gromit Christmas stamps! Such a fun thing to look forward to each year, though I wonder if Jules and Harvey feel slighted by Graham and Olwyn.

We're still weeks away from strawberries here, these pictures are tantalizing! This may be the year that I finally do some real canning. I made a couple of jars of freezer jam last year, and the jam only lasted until September or so. Thanks for the inspiration!

I have made Whoopie Pies with 1/3 butter, 1/3 marshmallow fluff, 1/3 powdered sugar, and it is fantastic. I must try the 7-minute frosting. http://fifthlampdown.blogspot.com/2009/09/somebody-stop-me.html Last year I used pumpkin in the cookies, and they were to die for.
