Today, I’m taking a Yuzu Bath, known as yuzuyu, taken at the Winter Solstice, it’s a tradition that dates back to the 18th century & is still practised today because of the benefits for the body mind and spirit. Mix three drops of Yuzu, using a carrier oil, coconut milk & or 2 cups of Epsom salt before adding the blend to the bath water. This will help the oil disperse evenly across the water. Immerse & receive the gifts of Yuzu. Affirmation ~ today I choose my own path. Yuzu - uninhibited freedom, independence, truth. Continue reading

You know when you go into a place & it's got that certain vibe? It's scrubbed clean, everything is polished & it has a sublime atmosphere that you just have to take in a big inhalation & exhalation & you just feel amazing? It might be a monastery, a cathedral, a temple, an ashram, an historical house... I try to replicate that in my home. This is how I do it. Continue reading

When the radiologist said to me in March 2019, “There are three shadows near your left breast that we would like to biopsy” my heart skipped a little beat. I knew that this was the ‘sign’ I’d been waiting for, the sign to seriously address what the f I had been doing with my life. Because of complications that radiologist called an ambulance. I was rushed to Emergency. When I got there I was triaged as an emergency within emergency. I’ve always been a big achiever but at the same time I’d been resting on my laurels in so many... To return to the sacred, to return to the source, I go back to you, the Mother. The Mother of creation, the Mother of all being, all knowing, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient. My life is dedicated to you. When I am in need, I turn to you. When I am crumbling, when everything is falling apart, I return to you. You are me. I go within for comfort. I sit and hold my hand & tell myself it's okay, that everything is going to be okay. You are our all. When we have gone too far you give us something with... Continue reading

Insomnia, can be one of those crazy symptoms of increased vata in the body. It affects the mind & the nervous system leaving it frazzled. Here today for my beautiful insomniac friends, a few tips from Vasant Lad, Ayurvedic extraordinaire. This is a beautiful routine I often give my slightly pitta/vata crazy husband, Dazla. He takes on a new persona when his vata is increased. Then I call him Razzle. Usually with an exclamation mark, "Razzle!" This, very simple program, is suited to most doshas & is a treat before bedtime for all ages. However, the meditation is only for... Continue reading

Hello my friends. How is everyone doing? We are scattered around the house doing different things. I'm in front of the fire with the laptop. Dazla has been in the garden & he is preserving most of the autumn produce. Bodhi is on his computer talking, playing & giggling with his friends. I can usually tell who is playing with depending on how much he is laughing. My teenage night owl 'wakes' at around 9pm chatting incessantly, talking, guffawing & laughing with her friends til after midnight. We had a good day yesterday visiting people, for the first time in... Continue reading

definition of cheer - to shout with joy, to give support or encourage Hands up, who needs cheer? I do, I need all of that right now! We are in week 6 or 7 of "Safe at home not stuck at home" & I do absolutely love it but I don't enjoy reading some of the news articles circulating. I stay well away from commercial news, conspiracy theorists etc but some of it is just down right depressing. So homeschooling goes like this, get up, move your body (compulsory dog walk for the children), a walk or run & a... Continue reading

Have you thought about why we roll on our oils in certain locations? Emotions involve many systems in the body, including the brain, the sensory system, the endocrine/hormonal system, the autonomic nervous system, the immune system, and the release or inhibition of neurotransmitters (such as dopamine) in the brain. Essential oils and their components have the ability to affect each one of these systems, making them an effective tool for helping to balance emotions in the human body. . Desiree Mangandog, the author of the book,“I am Fabulous” blends for emotional well-being shares some incredible info. I've added my own... Continue reading

The photo I took this morning at sunrise at Shelly Beach captures the essence of what I feel is Melissa, the Oil of Light. This week I'm experimenting with Melissa. I'm using it incorporating my exercise & my over all well-being. I don't know what I'll find but it has come at a good time. Seasonal changes bring the germs, viruses & other bugs that have been incubating over winter. Melissa is an anti-viral. It's also an anti-histamine. This is good for me as I run outdoors. Thank goodness too that it is anti-bacterial as I also run & workout... Continue reading

Use your FRANKINCENSE to prevent cancer & brain degenerative disease. Frankincense is my daily must-use oil. It's also a daily use oil for Dr. David K. Hill, DC. Cellular function. Dr. Raymond Francis teaches that there's only one disease – a malfunctioning cell; there are two causes of disease – deficiency and toxicity; and there are six pathways to health and disease – nutrition, toxins, psychological/emotional state, physical, genetic, and medical. These ideas certainly simplify and highlight the most important areas on which to focus to achieve a healthy body. When cells do not operate efficiently, tissue and organ function is... Continue reading

Bathing is profound and simple. It is nourishing and renewing. Water washes away our troubles. It cleans, refreshes, it makes our body work. We are made of it. Bathing and swimming can quickly shift the negative state of mind that many of us think we can shift using other vices, shopping, alcohol. It is a sure fire method to illuminate the mind, body, emotions and spiritual state. Water is an important element that we can take for granted until we are so thirsty we can't swallow. The magic starts when you soak in water that has been infused with Epsom... Continue reading

The activity - "What do you need to commit to in to bring yourself closer to the person you want to be?” Sit quietly, close your eyes and envision her... What do I need to let go of (because she is already there, inside of you)? Who is this beautiful woman inside of me, what does she look like? Who is she? What does she prioritise? What does she do in her daily routine? What does she do in her every day experience that moves her towards her goals? What does she say yes to? What does she say no... Continue reading

“Some of us keep a pebble in our pocket, a beautiful pebble we picked up in the front yard, out on a walk or at the beach. We washed it very carefully and always carry it with us. Every time we put our hand in our pocket, we touch the small pebble and hold it gently. We practise mindful breathing and we feel very peaceful. When anger arises, the pebble who come to the Dharma. Just hold the pebble, breathing in and out calmly and smiling, can help you tremendously. It sounds a little bit childish but this practice is... Continue reading
