The photo I took this morning at sunrise at Shelly Beach captures the essence of what I feel is Melissa, the Oil of Light. This week I'm experimenting with Melissa. I'm using it incorporating my exercise & my over all well-being. I don't know what I'll find but it has come at a good time. Seasonal changes bring the germs, viruses & other bugs that have been incubating over winter. Melissa is an anti-viral. It's also an anti-histamine. This is good for me as I run outdoors. Thank goodness too that it is anti-bacterial as I also run & workout... Continue reading

Use your FRANKINCENSE to prevent cancer & brain degenerative disease. Frankincense is my daily must-use oil. It's also a daily use oil for Dr. David K. Hill, DC. Cellular function. Dr. Raymond Francis teaches that there's only one disease – a malfunctioning cell; there are two causes of disease – deficiency and toxicity; and there are six pathways to health and disease – nutrition, toxins, psychological/emotional state, physical, genetic, and medical. These ideas certainly simplify and highlight the most important areas on which to focus to achieve a healthy body. When cells do not operate efficiently, tissue and organ function is... Continue reading

Bathing is profound and simple. It is nourishing and renewing. Water washes away our troubles. It cleans, refreshes, it makes our body work. We are made of it. Bathing and swimming can quickly shift the negative state of mind that many of us think we can shift using other vices, shopping, alcohol. It is a sure fire method to illuminate the mind, body, emotions and spiritual state. Water is an important element that we can take for granted until we are so thirsty we can't swallow. The magic starts when you soak in water that has been infused with Epsom... Continue reading

The activity - "What do you need to commit to in to bring yourself closer to the person you want to be?” Sit quietly, close your eyes and envision her... What do I need to let go of (because she is already there, inside of you)? Who is this beautiful woman inside of me, what does she look like? Who is she? What does she prioritise? What does she do in her daily routine? What does she do in her every day experience that moves her towards her goals? What does she say yes to? What does she say no... Continue reading

“Some of us keep a pebble in our pocket, a beautiful pebble we picked up in the front yard, out on a walk or at the beach. We washed it very carefully and always carry it with us. Every time we put our hand in our pocket, we touch the small pebble and hold it gently. We practise mindful breathing and we feel very peaceful. When anger arises, the pebble who come to the Dharma. Just hold the pebble, breathing in and out calmly and smiling, can help you tremendously. It sounds a little bit childish but this practice is... Continue reading

c Apologies for the image sizes. I'm transitioning from a PC to a Mac after 20 years and I don't know how these things work. The winter here is cold at the moment. Each year we get this tease of warm spring weather, every year we fall for it and every year it gets colder, way colder before it gets warmer. We had our little Landcare group yesterday. A gathering of neighbours and family to restore the bushland alongside our homes. It was a quiet session of hand weeding. I love this opportunity to just gently focus on the Earth,... Good morning. A lovely quiet morning here before the house wakes up to another full day of life. We had an organics delivery last night which the fridge welcomed with open door. Bodhi made his first batch of kombucha and I made my first batch of Peppermint Bliss Balls. The dog is wearing his woollen pyjamas and I covered and settled the rabbits late last night, past midnight. The day brings, a new haircut for me, school for the children and a shared dinner this evening. I'm hoping to get down to the beach to soak up this beautiful wintery... Continue reading

We are in week three of our winter school holidays. We've found a groove that will be turned upside down this time next week. Not to worry. All things must change. We've had a few family birthdays. Indira received a karaoke machine (so much fun, even more after, you know, vino) and birthdays always seem to creep up on me this time of year. Some years I get all lovely and prepped for the birthday/holiday season and pride myself on my planning and forethought. I rest on my laurels. So then the next year comes along, I'm lying down on... I headed down to the haven rocks this morning to meet up with a friend for a photography lesson. He inspired me immensely. The sun wasn't out, in fact the sky was brimming with tears. I photographed my favourite colour, sky steel blue. Here's what I captured. Thanks Matty. Looking forward to the next one. Continue reading

February. Goodbye! You've been hot, sticky. You go unlamented. I'm glad to see the end of this summer. The weather is changing now, a little cooler at the beginning and a bit more cooler at the end of the day. This morning at 4:30am in the dark I stepped outside onto the deck to fully absorb the earthy cold air through the pores of my skin. I could hardly get enough. So glad, so glad. I want big autumn skies, the weight of the blanket on me at night, coolness, coldness, night fires, golden leaves, embroidery on my lap, a... Continue reading

Taking two children to a third world country for a month was exhausting! A 21,000km round trip! We've spent 7 weeks together. 4 of those weeks we were really stuck together - like glue - in Vietnam. I thought they could get lost or stolen so I spent the time holding on to their hands for dear life, constantly looking at where they were and slept with one eye open. When I wasn't so worried about the personal safety part it was just stressful managing the passports, transfers, language barrier and finding something vegetarian to eat; breakfast, lunch and dinner....
