Danny, I feel that it's ok for a franchisor to offer this type of option as an alternative to traditional commercial lending, but I am not ok if they push it. Best of luck on your quest for finding the right franchise. You've subscribed to this blog, right? The Franchise King Joel Libava

Michael, This article {That you pointed out} is about pension and health care related tax shelter issues, and the lack of reporting. WSJ; "Many of the small firms now facing huge fines incurred them in connection with customized defined-benefit pension plans that allow older taxpayers to make large contributions. Other business owners set up plans to fund health and life insurance, health and welfare plans that the IRS deemed to be abusive shelters." JL
