Seeew... Jan is cleaning out our remaining quilt and small project samples. Her prices are incredible for quality custom quilted work. A completely finished quilt for $500 that measures 72" x 72" is an incredible buy! Without a doubt, Jan is fantastic at color placement and fabric selection! A talent that is needed as a quilt shop owner! Seeew I'm giving a shout out to my mom because I know what she has to go through to keep you inspired. That's a blog post for another time. Maybe I'll even start a personal blog to share the tales one of... Continue reading

Seeew... There are only 10 kits available to Pre-Order. Kits will ship in 2-3 weeks depending on number of orders. All of the details for the pre-order can be found here. As I shared in the last post, if you don't order things when we advertise them, or within like a week or two, there's a chance it won't be available anymore. I'm not kidding. I get so many people coming to my blog from Pinterest and they are looking at OLD items from years ago and wanting us to produce it. Sorry. This industry is so unpredictable it's impossible... Seeew... Time escaped me and then the "Mothership" sent me this "work in progress" of her version of the Hen House Pillow. She still has to stitch it down, but she wanted me to have this image to share with you. In fact, she's cutting more kits as I type as this has been very popular. You can find the kit here on her website.UPDATE: SOLD OUT. I tell you all to get on her mailing list so you don't miss out! Stay Seeew-cial ~ Brian Continue reading

Seeew... Real quick before I venture off to bed...I was packing my lunch for tomorrow and happened to have a jar of Strawberry Jam. It reminded me that I wanted to share with you this beautiful quilt kit for the adorable Gingham Garden Quilt. Guess what? There are just two left! The fabric collection came out earlier this year and it's mostly sold out from Moda. I know everyone is into Christmas quilts in December...but are you really going to get it finished in time at this point? Why not get started on Spring/Summer??? Seeew... Hello everyone! I am happy to be back behind-the-scenes blogging for my mom, Jan! I've been gone for so long from the blog, I don't really know where to begin. There has been much transition since my dad, Rick passed away in June. Thank you to everyone for your patience and the messages you sent to my mom. That was a life changing experience for her (as it would be for anyone) so I really appreciate it. Pictured above are the gorgeous new fabrics from Minick & Simpson called, Mackinac Island. Our favorite Minick & Simpson collections have always... Continue reading

Seeew... The weather is cooling down a bit and I got in the mood to make some beautiful hand-dyed wool bundles. For me, I personally don't like that splotchy/mottled look. I only buy from the best hand dyers and I love a fabulous texture. Pictured above are nine of the thirteen new color bundles I just introduced on my website today! You can find each of these bundles available here in my new Wool Corner. I am also cleaning out all of my wool kits so they are all on sale until gone! You can check out all of my... Continue reading

Seeew... Good morning! I just realized that I haven't posted since March! Brian would have been on this much faster, so please forgive the idol blog. The good news is I have been very busy getting in new products including kits for Merry Merry Snow Days, pictured above. I love the addition of the skiing Llamas to the family of snowmen. If you are familiar with applique patterns by Bunny Hill Designs, they have lots of detail but the end result is worth it! Last year I put a new colorway together for her Merry Merry Snowmen quilt and I... Continue reading

Seeew... That's how Brian used to start this blog so I figured it was a good way to start too. I must tell you, I have never blogged before so if I don't get into the depth he used to, please understand. Since we closed my brick-and-mortar storefront last December, I am having to learn how to maneuver the social media world. It's not as simple as one would think. Links, pictures, Instagram, Facebook, etc. It's a lot to keep track of! Thank you to those of you who have been patient. I have two new quilts to show you... Continue reading

Seeew... With the end of Summer fast approaching, I realized I needed to get out and enjoy our beautiful scenery around the Shoppe! Of course...it also helps when I have a new quilt and a new song to share with you! Um...do ya think she did it on her own? LOL. I know I do this blog on my own. Maybe I need a song? Now I don't know much about Claire Richards...except that she is a rising star in the U.K., is 40 and has fabulous hair. Ya know...the important stuff. As I've listened to it for the 20th... Seeew... LISTEN...🎼 I've had all the "lines"....I've displayed them many times, but I never knew love before 'till Feedsacks: True Blue arrived on the floor...🎼 What can I say? I'm a child of the 80's and I'm guilty as charged when it comes to favoring some of the 80's most memorable pop-tarts! But what you really came here for was this....💙 Moda has a new designer. Her name is Linzee McCray, she loves feedsacks and her new collection Feedsacks: True Blue is featured in this gorgeous quilt called Lulee's Garden by May Chappell (above). The collection is also available in... Continue reading

Seeew... Quilt Market is here in Portland this week and we've already started the day off with a bus tour! Most of those on the bus are other shop owners or "industry folks" seeew there is definitely an energy that is much appreciated! Of course I always love the people from Australia, New Zealand and Norway! They are positive, full of excitement, and just amazed! Love that! Since we've been busy here at the Shoppe with several things including our upcoming Lori Holt Workshops, I thought I would try to get a quick update in before I get too far... Continue reading

Seeew.... It's been a much busier week than I expected seeew I'll keep this post fairly short. There are only a handful of seats left for our 4th annual Mother's Celebration Brunch. Pictured is the secret project from last year on the left while on the right hand side are some of the selected Tilda fabrics the "Mothership" will be using in this year's secret project. I cover all the details here on our website. Are you a "Bag Lady?" If you are...the May "Extra Special" has been announced! Throughout the month of May, "Bag Ladies" receive 10% off all... Seeew... One of the things we love to host around here, is a quality workshop event. These workshops build community and teach new skills while introducing you to your favorite designers! Coming up on Saturday, April 21 is our 4th annual spring workshop, S.p.R.u.N.g! Kathy Cardiff, one of our favorite designers, is returning to the Shoppe on Saturday, April 21 for this springtime event. Kathy designs patterns for her company, A Cottage at Cardiff Farms and has spent the last half of the year promoting her new book, "A Cottage Garden." Since you do not bring your sewing machines to... Continue reading

Seeew... Before I even begin this entry...you must do me a favor and view it on your desktop. An iPhone or any phone will not do this "post" justice as it is laid out to the music. I'm never about just posting pictures for the sake of pictures. There is a story here...and that story is you. "I saw the sun begin to dim and felt the winter wind blow cold..." It was one year ago when the "Mothership" made the decision to leave our previous location. I have never shown the above pictures until now and I have never... Continue reading

Seeew... I haven't felt this much passion for a movie since Idina Menzel treated D23 audiences to the first performance of "Let It Go" in August 2013...three months before Frozen's release in November of that same year. If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, between every product share, I've been sharing every new musical discovery for the new movie...The Greatest Showman. I'll admit it...I'm obsessed! Seeew much seeew that last night when this song "A Million Dreams" dropped in my iTunes, my eyes were swelling with puddles as memories of the past looked on... Every quilt shop, however big... Seeew... If you haven't figured it out yet, I love music seeew therefore you will always find a lot of it on our blog. Everytime the "Mothership" (aka Jan...for the newbies) starts to pull fabrics for a new quilt sample, I start hearing a song. It doesn't matter to me who the artist is or the type of music...if it makes me sway to the rhythm and brings me joy, I'm sharing it. With today's song...I figured I would provide a romantic touch to my blog. Two words...Carlos Rivera. Um...who 'dat? Uh...don't know but I'm going to go out on... Continue reading

Hi Hannah, If you're looking at Pinterest, you should know that people have over the years taken my pictures and reposted them on Pinterest. Our current products are available for purchase on our website www.hollyhillquiltshoppe.com. This sounds like something from years ago and if you don't find it on our blog it's because I've been posting new blogs. I don't do tutorials on my blog because I'm showing products to purchase, fabrics, kits, patterns, etc. and we teach classes here at the Shoppe. Thanks so much for following!
Thank you Louise. Happy Holidays to you too!
You're welcome Cynthia! See you in December!
Hi Joni! Have a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas! Thanks for still checking in from...Georgia? At least I think you lived in Georgia.:-)
I guess we will see you in December!

Seeew... This probably should be two posts, but I'm going to inundate you anyway. I must confess...I'm in love with that wool project pictured above! Kathy Cardiff of The Cottage at Cardiff Farms designed this adorable wool project exclusively for our Wool N' Harvest Workshop which was held here at the Shoppe on Saturday. Kathy follows our Shoppe on Instagram and when designing this year's project she wanted to pay tribute to our "squirrel friends." As the end of the season approaches, these little critters are clearly stepping up their game in the gathering department! Squirrels are everywhere! Kathy incorporated... Continue reading
