Oh gee! It's been a year since I posted on my blog! Life certainly does get busy - I really must stop watching so much TV. I still really want to improve my photography so I have signed up for Kim Klassen's year long course "Beyond Layers" so hopefully it will not only improve my photos but also keep me inspired to post at least something on my blog. This week we had to create something that was simple - the less the better. I took a few photos this afternoon but then got sidetracked with phone calls and other... Continue reading

Love the frames you have created - these stamps make wonderful cards. Thankyou for your inspiration.
I love the way you added the stamens to the crocheted flowers - a lovely finishing touch. Thankyou for all your inspiration.
Thanks for doing the image transfer with inkjet printed images - makes it so much easier as they are more accessible than photocopied images. Just love the ideas you have shown us today. Can't wait to see what you do tomorrow :)

Well I started the year with good intentions and that is about as far as I got then life happened. I have managed one entry in my art journal - I wanted to have a play with my water colour crayons and chose an orchid as my subject and here is the result - I think it needs a little more shadow so I'm thinking of adding some with charcoal - will see how that goes. I also went on the 3 night cruise to nowhere with my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary and it was the best thing... Continue reading

Yes I know I'm a little late but thought I would say it anyway. We have been away for a couple of days celebrating New Year with my DSD and her family so it's hard to get online. Thought I would share a couple of photos I took while we were away - This first one is a picture of their new dog Scraps And this is a bridge and waterhole near Cranbrook I also made the cover page for my One Little Word album - not sure how pleased I am with it but then it's really just about... Hi all! Well here it is the end of 2010 and I haven't posted since May - so much for the 365 challenge. I have decided I'm going to try for the 52 challenge in 2011 - that's one photo a week - I think I can manage that, however posting the photos on the blog may be harder. I have also signed up for Ali Edwards "One Little Word" class - hoping it will help me to keep motivated and stay on track all year. You can read about it here - http://aliedwards.com/2010/12/one-little-word-2011.html You don't need to sign up... Continue reading

I can't believe it's nearly a month since I put up a post - the time just flies by. Here are a couple of the photos I have taken over the past weeks. I actually baked and made some Anzac biscuits on April 23rd in preparation for Anzac day. We went to visit family in Cranbrook on the Anzac long weekend and of course I had to take a photo or two. Here are a couple of them. Of course we needed a chook photo - And I was pleased with how this photo turned out - It was Phill's... Continue reading

As today was Wednesday we had our evening crop at Chook Scraps and I made a card for the challenge over at Darkroom Door. The challenge is to create something using Darkroom Door photochips. This is the card I made and I am quite pleased with how it turned out. Continue reading

I was blog hopping today and I found a tutorial on this technique at Split Coast Stampers. It looked easy and effective so I tried it out and made these three cards. This first card I have used one of the robot stamps from Darkroom Door's robot set. This set is great for boy cards and it has heaps of funky sentiment stamps as well as three robot stamps. The patterned paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg range. On the following two cards I have used Penny Black stamps (just love these stamps for cards) and the patterned papers... Continue reading

On Easter Monday we went looking around Margaret River - finding some of the cows that are on display in the Cow Parade. There were a few that I liked but here are a couple of my favourites - Brahman the Barman - very clever Dame Edna's Tea Party - just like the way this one looks Mum liked this one - The Cow Shed And of course you need a couple of beach scenes if you go to Margaret River. And most definitely a couple of the surfers. And lastly just one of the beautiful water. Continue reading

On Saturday 3rd April Phill and I drove down to Margaret River to spend Easter with Mum and Dad. On Easter Sunday there was a hot rod show at one of the wineries so we drove out to have a look. Here are a few photos I took. Just love the number plate on this one - there were a few clever number plates. I love how this one still has the original paint job - it even had the hand on a lever that you lift up to indicate when you are turning. And I just love the look... Continue reading

This was the day that Perth was hit by the worst storms in years and many cars there were hail damaged with a lot being written off by insurance. Later that night we also had thunder, lightning and lots of rain - couldn't get any photos of the lightning but here's a couple of the rain. Continue reading

Well I'm up to the 20th of March now and yes I know I haven't had a photo for every day but just trying to catch up at the moment. On the 20th of March we had this beautiful race horse goanna visit our yard - although he was relatively small he did make a good photographic subject. Continue reading

The night of the wedding we stayed a beautiful place called Kendenup Lodge. It is out of the way and not much to look at but it is definitely 4 star and delightfully rustic. Here are a few shots I took the morning after the wedding - This is the Lodge where we stayed. We were the only guests this night so had the whole place to ourselves. As you can see the building is all made out of recycled materials but the rooms are all very new, modern and comfortable. Outside in the grounds there is a full sized... Continue reading

I really love the vintage feel of the Darkroom Door stamps and being unmounted rubber stamps they stamp up beautifully. For these cards I have used the Darkroom Door Melody stamps and the Darkroom Door Legato Paper. Of course I have used my trusty Walnut Stain Distress Ink and my all time favourite Versmagic Jumbo Java. Continue reading

March 13th was a special day for our family as my step-daughter got married so of course I took enough photos that day to post one everyday for more than a year :) I am sharing a few - not of the bride or the wedding party but of some of the paraphernalia that always surrounds a wedding. First off the bridal cars DH drove the car that carried the bride and here he is getting in the car to go and pick her up. This is where the wedding took place. And here are two of the table settings... Continue reading

I have made a few cards this year due to the fact I have been running card making classes once a week at the shop and I thought I might share some of the ones I really like. These first lot were made using stamps from Darkroom Door Garden Greetings Stamp Set. The patterned paper is from Websters Pages. The flowers are stamped on vellum with black pigment ink, embossed with clear embossing powder and coloured with chalk then cut out. Continue reading

On March 6th DH and I went to the ACDC concert at Subiaco oval in Perth. There were masses of people there and the line up for food or drink was huge but the concert was absolutely the best one I've ever been too. Fantastic effects and the ACDC boys (well aging men now but you would never know it) put on a fantastic show. DH and I also got snapped by a photographer from the Sunday Times and got our photo published on the Perth now website. I also took a couple of photos from our seats in the... Continue reading

Well I didn't make it back the other day for the catch up but I am here today :) These photos I took on at the Chook Scraps retreat which was another great weekend full of scrapping, laughter, chatting, good company and good food. This was our eighth retreat at Evedon Park - can't believe we have had that many! The first photo shows the chalets where we sleep - little else happens there as we spend most of our time in the conference or dining rooms. The photo is taken from across the lake. This next photo shows the... Continue reading

I can't believe it's over a month since posting but what a busy month it's been. On 20th February DH and DS and I laid carpet at the shop - it has made a huge difference and everyone has commented on it but what a hard job - I definitely had a few aches and pains afterward. Here are a before and after photo although they don't really show how much better it is than the cement floor. I'll be back this evening to post some more - have lots of photos to share but unfortunately not one for every... Continue reading
