Julie I remember this feeling so very well, I didn't like my child and as you say felt like he was a bomb about to go off any time any where! You are doing the right thing, 9 years is a long time and you have honestly given Toby a wonderful childhood, filled with love and you have done your very best. Let the pro's guide you, they see children like Toby all the time and know what works. I'd be scared too, especially about medication as that was my biggest fear for Bailey. If you need a sounding board I'm ready and waiting. I hope you get some sleep soon Julie xxx Thinking of you. Maddyxxxx
moody knitting
Thanks for all of the good wishes for a better night's sleep. It's yet to arrive I'm afraid but I've no doubt that it will at some point down the line. Sadly though it's only one of the aspects that are making life with Toby hard at the moment. His anxiety, repetitive behaviours and aggression a...
Oh I remember that feeling, Bailey refused the first year and stood at the back of the room hiding behind his teacher. The next year he was the drummer boy in the Christmas play and I've never felt such huge emotion, pride and love all wrapped in a bundle of tears and cheers.
Have a wonderful day Julie and clap for me too. Oh I've come over all teary!
I do love the colours you are using for your granny blanket, very soft and beautiful.
An upside down week
This week is one of the strangest in our family's year. It's the week of Toby's school play which means all routines are stood on their head. From tomorrow he'll go to school from 4pm til 9pm instead of the usual 9am - 3pm and he'll take part in the annual school play each evening. It's challeng...
I did the same thing, watched a few YouTube videos then went to Nexstitch web site for some more video tuition. Love the bag.
playing hooky
For the longest time I've been meaning to learn to crochet. I've looked at courses but it always seems difficult to fit them in around family life. Anyway for some reason on Saturday the vague desire to have a little crochet in my life became a pressing need and so I turned to the internet. Rave...
Julie I often find Bailey's orderly life a blessing. In the morning he has such a stingent routine that he is in the kitchen a full ten minutes before his brother who often eats his breakfast on the run to the bus stop. That little silver lining. I hope the sun comes out soon.
order
Toby needs constant order and routine to make his world manageable. Yesterday his orderly row of balls which he neatly aligned in the middle of the lawn and graded according to size said it all. Sadly today will see no play in the garden, it's pouring with rain here - good old bank holiday wea...
Hi Julie, I finally found a way to post a comment here, I've been blocked for months. Hope all is well with you and your two little lovelies.
acorns
Earlier in the week the postman brought me a wonderful package from Lilfishstudios containing a little present to myself to celebrate autumn. It was so beautifully packaged in a vintage sewing pattern bound with twine, with a felted autumn leaf and owlish card as lovely little details. In...
