Another Faux Metal card
This Faux metal technique is a little more involved than the my first one but I do love the results of this version. Items needed: Metallic Embossing Powder (I used Silver) Heat gun Versamark™ Stamps Cardstock (heavier cardstock works best) I used silver cardstock w/silver embossing powder Scissors Powder Pal® (optional) 1. Ink your stamp with Versamark ink and set aside 2. Cover cardstock completely with Versamark ink 3. Then cover with metallic embossing powder 4. Heat completely melting the embossing powder 5. Let it cool a little then cover with Versamark again 6. Cover with more embossing powder and... Continue reading

Saying Good-bye to Shasta
We had to say good-bye to our sweet Shasta today. We had her for 18 years, she was 19 years old. It's so hard to say good-bye especially when you have to make the decision to have them put to sleep. I know it was the right thing to do for her but I feel like a murderer. We have 2 kitty's left, a brother and sister, and they are 19 years old. One is healthy and one has severe arthritis. Although the arthritic kitty is on pain meds and steroids I fear his time is short. Having all our... Continue reading

Juvenal Birthday
Haven't been feeling all that creative so I have case'd (copy and share everything) this really cute card. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/340545?&cat=7236 I used the faux flower soft technique for the lion's mane. Being a Stampin' Up!© demonstrator and not wanting to use non-Stampin' Up! products I needed to find a way to make my own Flower Soft. I found this idea on line some where, you take a scrap piece of cardstock, rolled it up tight and using a cheese grater and grated it on the fine side. The results are fluffs of paper that you can use for fur on a... Continue reading

Faux Mother of Pearl
This card is for my April Technique swap. (It's also my moms Mothers Day card.) Can you see the pearl look? I used plastic wrap and SU Frost White Shimmer Paint and sponged it over a piece of Glossy White card stock that I had brayered with Pretty In Pink classic ink. Drop me a line and let me know what you think. Continue reading
