Lived all through Halloween weekend in this pair of gold sequined harem pants by Sass & Bide that I picked up in Melbourne early this year. Worn with a vintage lace top for Friday's party, and with a Dolce and Gabbana corset for Saturday. The gold necklace is a bellydancer's belt that became the perfect gypsy necklace after some improvisation. Honestly, my weekend went by in a haze. I can hardly remember what I did all through Friday till now, besides waking up in a daze and getting ready to go out. Went out three nights in a row in... Continue reading

Hermes' So-Kelly in Violet Have you ever gone somewhere, and immediately realized that it was a wrong decision after a series of unfortunate events unfolded? Smokeout Fest was a mistake. In the order of occurence: - late - witnessed THREE major car accidents on the way and back - friend lost my ID and credit card - another friend lost his car keys - another group of friends couldn't find their car it would've been fun if none of these occurred, since Paul Oakenfold and Deadmau5 were AMAZING. Felicia in an amazing Alexander Wang jacket king of the domain Chinese drama series never fail to consume my whole life, rendering me subject to my couch. Spent the past week hibernating at home, in my PJs and glasses and drinking endless bottles of Pilsner Urquell anxiously watching my show. Now that I'm DONE with the series (all 40 of them!) I finally have my life back. Sorry for the hiatus. Here's to our humble abodes - nothing beats the feeling of being home, comfortable and lazy. Continue reading

Christian Louboutin striped studded loafers Tsumori Chisato socks, Ann Demeleumeester shoes One of the things I'll be missing about LA? Being able to wear crazy socks with pointed-shoulder leather jackets in the middle of the day, in school, and on the streets without any weird glances from anyone. Continue reading

My favorite part of Orchard Road, and also the most familiar to me. Orchard Road is to Singapore like 5th Avenue to New York, but much, much more diverse and down to earth and comfortable. Or at least it is to me. Ever since I moved to Singapore in 1997, I've been on this street everyday, walking by the street buskers with their flutes or makeshift karaoke machines, the traditional ice-cream carts at almost every corner, and people, from professionals going to lunch and teenagers on a movie date walking back and forth over and over again. I navigate easily... Continue reading

It feels so SURREAL to be blogging again, because I've been MIA for a few weeks now. Not just from the blogosphere, but also in a literal sense. You would think that I'll be spending my well-deserved holiday lounging around in one of my many vacation homes, luxuriating by the pool and indulging in shopping marathons around Singapore's Orchard Road, attending every party imaginable and having the time of my life here. But NO. I've been working my ass off in the office, writing drafts and speeches for my mom, taking down minutes of meetings, running around town in 'corporate... Continue reading

No prizes for guessing who's shoe collection this is. Had an incredibly fun weekend right in the midst of final week. Seemed like a good idea to take a break after all the weeks of intense work, but now I'm not so sure, since I spent most of the weekend in bed, nursing a hangover. I have two final exams, one paper and one project left before freedom. Back to work. Love you all! xoxo Zucca dress, Margiela hair necklace, Birkin bag, Nicholas Kirkwood shoes Continue reading

Late lunch at Il Pastaio in Beverly Hills with Kane and Shaun. Opening Ceremony's FNO event was a mega success. The outdoor flea market with sellers displaying their wares from the trunk of vintage cars, the drinks, the Persian rugs, the projector screen, and the people were amazing. It's like going to a friend's party, since I knew everyone working at OC so it was like a reunion thing for us. Spent too much time catching up with everyone and forgot about my camera. Honestly, the concept of FNO works so much better in NYC. Here in LA we spent... Continue reading

Squeezing two days into one post proved to be relatively challenging. As usual, the weekend flew by and now its Monday, which means that I have another FInal presentation tomorrow, and I have nothing started for my project, which is due in 24 hours. How ironic, laboring on Labor Day. Madeo restaurant for some uni spaghetti, falling in love with Chanel 2.55 again, Prada pointy vampy shoes, the jade bracelet which I've been wearing for the past 5 years, Anthropologie sequin shawl, Farmers Market, Kane, Kane's tweed Chanel bag, trying every vendor in the Farmers Market, french crepes, bad iced... The next best thing besides being in NYC, the heart of Fashion's Night Out? Being in Los Angeles and totally being part of FNO! Designers from Theory were chosen to create this year's Fashion's Night Out t-shirt. Are you as excited as I am? Here's more teasers for you sad souls who'll be missing out on this! And Emily? That's all. xoxo Continue reading

Kane is back! Just in the nick of time too, before I die of loneliness. He is wearing an Isaac Sellam crocodile jacket. Isaac Sellam has an extensive range of luscious leathers and exotic skins. Check them out here. I have TOO MUCH homework on my plate right now and I can't function anymore. I've been spending my days either doing work or watching my DVD sets. I will be back to update more! Bear with me. xoxo Continue reading

Today is a Madewell day, because I'm dressed in Madewell stuff from head to toe, except for my shoes. Blazer, denim shirt and denim shorts are all Madewell. If you've heard of them and are a fan, good for you, because you have awesome taste. If you haven't, don't miss out from life and check them out HERE. Halfway through the day I decided that it was much tooo hot for any form of covered shoes (and socks!) and conveniently changed into a pair of soft Margiela flats that I always have as a spare in the car. Always, always... Continue reading

Being in NYC for a weekend made me realize how attached I actually am to LA. NYC is fun and urban and all, but I guess I'm a California girl at heart. Today as I was walking through the familiar Abbot Kinney Blvd with the sunset and warm summer breeze in my face, I realized I am home. I feel like I've been ranting about my endless pile of schoolwork forever, so I'm not going to anymore. I don't usually think about my outfits, but today felt right. The right shirt, right pants, right shoes, right place and right time.... Continue reading

As you all probably know by now, I spent the weekend in NYC. It's not a good idea to travel in the midst of exams, and NEVER will be, so don't even think about it. Take it from me. I had just spent the last 8 hours on the flight back to LA frantically typing up a 30-page business plan about a vegan restaurant I really don't care about. Here's NYC in 10 photos or less. This was my best NYC experience so far, probably because we ventured out of the usual places and got to try new things. I... Continue reading

Lately I've strayed from my set of tried-and-tested combination of things, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes you have to evolve to keep yourself alive. This store on Abbot Kinney Blvd is my current obsession. It's a treasure trove filled with ethnic clothes all the way from Afghanistan, bohemian bags handmade by Guatemalan widows, vintage rings, bangles and jewelry from the Middle East. Exotic outerwear are hung high against the walls, and every piece of treasure is neatly hung on shelves in broken-in wooden cabinets. African prints mingle with noisy belly-dancing belts from India, and the antique, worn-in... Continue reading

Had awesome Thai food with Kane, who is now back in Singapore. I am now friendless and lonely, since most of my friends already left LA for good, and the remaining ones are either (a) slaves to their Masters thesis, or (b) having the time of their lives in Asia, enjoying a proper summer break, much unlike me. I'm wearing my favorite fur vest with Madewell's harem pants and the most comfortable Tod's loafers ever. Kane, as usual, was in Balmain. And blinged-out Christian Louboutins. xoxo Continue reading
