Life is a balance of positives and negatives...
Interests: art, music (all genres), writing, reading (anything from ceral boxes to manuals, but dramatic fiction is my favorite), poetry (i am a poet at heart), movies (i am a netflix addict), and i love to laugh, and often times don't take life very seriously, really people life is to short to sweat the small stuff.

When I enrolled at Southeastern Community College, it was in the Graphic Communication program. My first semester I took an Introduction to Computers class at the same time I took one of the major software classes that was pertinent to my certification in the design industry. Needless to say, it was overwhelming and frustrating. One thing that is not made clear at SCC in the beginning is accessing the college network, Hawknet. For instance, I had been enrolled for nearly a year and working as a lab monitor before I knew that in order to access Hawknet, one must type... Continue reading

These days, I feel as though I am on a roller coaster ride. Some days my arms are in the air, enjoying the ride... other days I have a death grip on the security bar and am paralyzed by fear. I imagine many of you know exactly what I am writing of. The ups and downs often gives me the sensation that I might toss my cookies which may cause a chain reaction among my readers... Whatever the future brings... I know this… In speech class they say image everyone naked it makes it easier to speak in front of... Continue reading

I’ve never been partial to the institution of marriage so imagine my surprise when I realized the royal wedding was of interest to me. I plan on tuning in to watch Prince William and Kate Middleton exchange vows on Friday, April 29th. The pageantry and romance seduce me, along with an interest in seeing the wedding cakes made for the event. Charles and Diana had 27 wedding cakes. Here is a pic of one... ABC coverage begins at 4am Eastern time. Seven hundred and fifty million people tuned in to watch Charles and Diana’s wedding, the projected statistics for this... Continue reading

Done wrong by the dirty deeds of unethical business practices? Read on, as consumer's our power lies in withholding our purchasing dollars. I'm mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. From now on businesses will have to embrace ethical company practices to earn my consumer dollars. Continue reading

I’ve always had the reputation of being a bad girl. And, I have a very good friend who is considered a good girl. We are a clash of Joan Jett and June Cleaver. Noticeably some of my bad girl attitude and vocabulary has rubbed off on her. She made a comment to me one day that she felt as if she had not affected any change in me. “Golly…really?” I replied, an utterance totally out of character for me. We laugh about these changes and sometimes ponder what they mean as we observe the stars in the night sky, talking... Continue reading

Some days I think, why even try nothing is going right. Today was one of those days, this week was one of those weeks. I soothed myself with half a xanax, a martini, and parts one, two, and three of "Back to the Future"...hey it's all I could find on TV that was fun and drama free. Continue reading

Here are some the names I’ve been called over the years, good and bad… Spoiled brat – As a kid, I used to have temper tantrums. Ok, ok, I admit that I still occasionally do! Adorable– When I was four, I was dining at a local restaurant with my parents, when an engaged couple unknown to the community entered the establishment and exclaimed that I was so adorable I just had to be the flower girl intheir wedding. It must have been my fifteen minutes of fame, lol. Horse’s ass – I went on a date with one guy and... Continue reading

I’d rather have my eyes poked out than watch any one of these movies again… Most current worst movie: Little Red Riding Hood. The trailer is the best part of the movie, so don’t waste your money on admission, this movie doesn’t even rate being on your Netflix que list. Four of us saw this movie and each of us gave it two thumbs down. And, if it did not require a thumb we each would have pinched our nostrils to emphasize on how MUCH this movie stunk. Out of a possible ten, I gave the movie a rating of two.... Continue reading

I am all for coloring outside of the lines challenging authority and throwing the bird at big brother. I learn the rules and then delight in breaking them. But here is one rule I have never had a clear understanding of, until now. My friend Julie Foster designed this informational poster for Joe’s Inn as a public service announcement so persons imbibing liquid libations are fully aware of the consequences of mixing cocktails and beer. A lesson we learned the hard way just the week before. Jules was scheduled to drop the poster off on Friday night at 9ish. I... Continue reading
