Jeff, I love your blog. As a 40-something guy, my shins truly appreciate this advice. I had been doing 6/1 run/walk, but my shins were really hurting. Today I did a 30 second/30 second experiment, and felt a lot better, plus I did shave time off of my overall pace!

Patricia, thanks for the great information. I'm going to take note of Michael Yapko's book. There is a also a book I want to get called Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Adult Asperger's. Have you heard of that book?

Patricia: I just finished reading a book by Donna Williams, entitled Somebody Somewhere, a young adult's account of coming to terms with her autism. I was struck by how, through therapy, she literally created new pathways to deal with her new realizations. I also recently attended a couple workshops on mindfulness, and found that meditation, DBT type interventions, are very helpful with creating new and more productive neuropathways for all of us.

Patricia, I really appreciate your blog and your service to your clients. As a fellow therapist working with similar foci as yourself, I love reading your blogs. It's teaching me all the time :)

Patricia, thanks for the great article. It's great to have a road map of what lies ahead. Thanks for taking the time to educate us parents and therapists on this very important phase of life.
