The most Challenging yet..
I absolutley love that my little Action man can now walk on his own...I love the freedom it gives him - I really do. I don't love the freedom it has taken away from me. Lately I feel like I can't go anywhere unless it involves an enclosed space and I am feeling a little closed in. You see my little one is at that stage where if he is on the ground he runs away. Yet - he will not sit still in his pram for any length of time either. It is driving me mental. So far the... Continue reading

Regrouping?
Do you ever get to certain points in your day and just feel totally frazzled and feel like you need to step back, sit down and regroup? I often get to feeling this way if I have been overscheduling myself and I have been running around from here to there without a break for too long. I do have to be careful about how much I... Continue reading

There is absolutely nothing wrong with ordinary!
Are You Raising Just an Ordinary Child?
Photo by Bob Whitehead Sometimes I get angry. I get angry when others don't fully grasp the value of a child--when others don't respect the worth and dignity of the little people we spend our days with. Recently I read something that got me fired up with the fuel of injustice. A stateme...

I agree entirely that a strong will is a beautiful thing - it gives them a predisposition to resillience that will help them throughout their life.

Why I Hope All My Children Have Strong Wills
Photo by Michael Johnson This short post originally published on February 22, 2010 and generated one of the highest number of comments of any post I'd written at that time. I've been surrounded by strong wills here lately, so this seems a fitting repost. A few months ago I was talking to a f...

The Big 1
The pictures tell the story really but the little one, despite having an upset tummy and being not allowed to have any cake had a ball on his 1st Birthday. We decided on a Shark theme because he really like the Sharks when we went to the aquarium and because when he crawls up our legs and catches us we call it a Shark attack. We had a lovely day despite being rained out of our Park location. Probably the best surprise for me was a lovely montage video that our 10 year old niece made with pictures and video...
