I used to actively fantasise about popping my son into my bag and running out. It does happen but it is torture in the meantime. So glad he is doing well : )

This post has refreshed and enlivened me as I sit here in my suburban rental waiting for the spring to come so that we can begin building our own country home. I feel I've walked with you, stood around in the snow and breathed in the sweet smell of woodsmoke and cooking sap. Thanks : )

Thanks for sharing this, something about it just resonated with me. Even just thinking about doing this made me feel calmer! I'll give it a try - when I can make a moment for myself. But that is up to me isn't it?!

How wonderful to read about the purposeful lives your boys lead, filled with real work that helps them grow and contribute to their family. They are already way ahead of many adults in their skill set I'm sure. While I recognise the need for numeracy and literacy I also think that spending time on the 'business' of life is incredibly valuable. Welcome to spring indeed!

It is wonderful to hear such good news, I've been thinking of you all. I remember when we took our son home from the NICU, we literally ran out with him strapped in the car seat. We didn't want anyone to tell us he actually had to stay! He's now a strapping nearly 6 years boy but I still remember that day and the bliss of having him home. It will be even better than you imagine : )

I found your words and the images of your life, particularly moving today. How lovely to be choosing art over laundry! I opened my bedroom window last night and we had the back door open for a lot of the afternoon. Sigh, what bliss this turn of the season is : )

I love the idea of a dye garden, so clever! I will be working on a little doll for my son who is 2 on Monday. I'll also be baking for the friends who are coming to celebrate this little person!

My eldest son just asked me who your daughter is (the picture of her in the greenhouse) and I said "That little girl lives there" he looked at me very confused and said "I don't think so..." he thought I meant she lives in the greenhouse! It is wonderful to see your young ones embracing a purposeful life, I think all children will if given the chance and I'm looking forward to getting my boys out on the land as we learn ourselves. Your blog gives me lots of inspiration!

These are all such great ideals and goals, all something worth striving for. I would love to be more evolved than I am but I guess I just have to do my best and I'll be a bit further along the path in the next life : )

This made me laugh! It reminds me of something that happened recently. My son wanted to watch a dvd we have, it is a 'back to school' cartoon that someone gave us as part of a pack. He requested it a few times and I said "Do you think you might like to go to school?" He looked at me with a mix of confusion and scorn and said "No, I just like watching the video" like I was the daftest person ever! Put me in my place I can tell you!
Good luck with it all and blessings to you all x
