Dear teenagers; Stop expecting everything for nothing. Do you want good grades? Do your homework, study hard, put in the extra effort, and chances are, your grades will improve. Do you want nice things? Earn them! Don't tell your parents what you want...get a job, save your money, buy them yourselves. Do you want your parents to loan you the car, pay for the insurance, cover your fees for sports, or music lessons, or whatever your "thing" is? Try giving a little to get a little: do your chores, then do more...cut the grass, wash the floors, cook dinner, take... Continue reading

As I get older, I find myself caring less & less about being the person I think I'm supposed to be, and allowing myself to be me. Currently, this is me: I love my husband. I am still in awe, after 22 yrs together, that he chose me. He still makes my heart flutter and my panties wet. I am most proud of our 4 kids. They are wonderful, smart, funny, kind, caring, giving, driven teens & young adults. I'd give them the world if I could. I am also vulgar. The crasser the better. (Is crasser even a word?)... I'll never understand why a woman fakes an orgasm.... if he's not getting you off, and then you fake it, he's going to think what he's doing is working and keep doing it!! Everyone loses then! Isn't it better to be honest and let him know what works and what doesn't work? I'm no faker, are you? Continue reading

OK, so today I will will either share my opinion or you won't. If you share my opinion, enjoy my rant, if you don't, I'm sorry, go read someone else's blog then. :) (My apologies to Jeff Foxworthy) You Know You're A Twat.... if you change lanes or turn corners in your car, and you don't use your turn signals! Your car was built with them for a reason, people, USE THEM! if you eat produce in the grocery store while shopping, never to pay for it at the check-out. And when my kids ask why they can't have... I am envious of people who have found their passion(s). But I am so happy for them too. When I see them basking in the joy that their passion(s) brings to them, I share that joy. To all of my friends who share their passions with me, thanks. :) I only wish you more. <3 xoxo Continue reading

Today was a great day! I'm sitting here, feeling GRAND. Today was a regular day. With my regular Thursday routine; work, lunch with hubby, work, dinner with family, evening errands with the kids. A regular day. BUT... The sun was shining, everything went smoothly all day, and nothing bad happened. I am IN The ZONE. I love this place. :) xoxo J Continue reading

OK, so today was Earth Day. Which makes this story even more ludicrous. Tonight, I was shopping at the mall with my daughter. I wanted a pair of jeans and I was 2nd in line at the cash in a major department store. I'm listening to the transaction going on in front of me, I am, kind of, but not completely, but I did hear the cashier ask the woman if she would like a bag. And that it was 5 cents for the bag. Now, I was in this same store two weeks ago, buying something else and I... Continue reading

This coming weekend I am away with my two daughters. Mary is 14 and Helen is 10. We are off to another one of their cheerleading competitions. I love watching my girls compete in their cheerleading. They are on “All-Star” Teams, Helen on Youth, and Mary on Senior. Both of my girls are “flyers” which means they are the ones being thrown in the air, and lifted way up high. They are far braver than me. I’m terrified of heights. Watching them perform their routine with their respective teams makes me so proud. To the point of tears. I love... Continue reading

I'm a nag. I nag because I love you. My nags have a purpose, even if you can't see them. I tell you to clean your room, so you learn to look after your things. I remind you to use your manners, so you learn to get along with others. I admonish you for forgetting to tell me where you are, so you learn to be responsible, and to keep me from worrying. I nag you to wear clean clothes, so you learn to represent yourself to the world in the best way possible. Often, my nags come from my... Continue reading

Recently, I received an e-mail, with a story about two wolves. I loved the message of the story, and decided I should share it here. I imagine this story has been shared on many a blog out there in the vast entity known as "the blogospere". Feel free to share it with those you love. And remember to Feed Your Wolf... TWO WOLVES One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all. "One is Evil - It is anger, envy,... Continue reading

BLISS- • when the volume on all my feel-good receptors is turned up and the volume on all my feel-bad receptors is turned low. • the warm, safe feeling of being loved that I find in the centre of a hug from him. • that big exhale of breath as my ass hits the seat in my car at 5:02pm on Friday afternoon. • the first mouthful of the perfect cup of coffee. • 3.5" -heeled black leather pumps with a pointy toe. • heated blankets right after childbirth. • knowing they're all home, safe in their beds. How do... Continue reading

Hey there! Did you miss me? I missed you! I can’t believe how fast time has been flying by lately! It’s nearing the end of February, and I am thrilled to report that my S.A.D. has not shown it’s ugly face to me this year. Usually February is the worst month for me. But since we’ve had such a mild, sun-filled winter so far, I’ve been able to keep my vitamin D levels up enough to stave off the February Blahs. For this, I am rejoicing! I’m sure my hubby is rejoicing as well. By this time of year, I... Continue reading

Valentine's Day is coming. In the next week, stores are going to be packed with people looking for the perfect gift for that special someone. It's not my gig. The gifts, the cards, it's all just not what it's about for me. Save your money. SHOW me you love me. I get shown every day. EVERY DAY. By those who love me. It's in the kisses I get from the kids as they leave for school and I leave for work. It's in the coffee that's ready for me when I get out of the shower. It's in the meals... Continue reading

I was away this past weekend in Rochester , NY with my two daughters at a cheerleading competition. My girls have both been doing competitive cheerleading for 5 years now. The oldest, Mary, is on the Senior All-Girl Team, and my youngest, Helen is on the Youth Team. It was a successful weekend for the girls, with one team placing 2nd and one team placing 3rd, in their divisions. :) While we were there, we witnessed the sadness of downtown Rochester. We went for a walk on Friday evening after dinner, on a hunt for a store that sold junk... Continue reading

Tonight I spent a few hours cleaning my paper files and shredding. Man did I shred! All junk mail with names and addresses on it! It's like hardcopy spam! HONESTLY! I don't ask for credit card applications in my mailbox any more than I ask for invitations to enlarge my member in my e-mail box!! At least if you put the e-mails in the SPAM Folder, most e-mail providers will block those senders; I'd like to block the junk I fill my recycle bin and shredder with! Wouldn't you? Just my thoughts... Be back here soon. xoxo Continue reading

Today I think about my sister, Ailsa. I love her with everything that I have. She is one of the strongest women I know. She has lived through so many set-backs she could write not just a novel, but a series of them. I admire her gumption, her stick-to-it-iveness, and her optimism. I want nothing but great things for her, and wish I could swipe away all of her troubles. When good things happen to her, or for her, I am jubilant. When bad things happen to her, I want to fix them. In good times and in bad, I... Continue reading

Well, it's official. I must be old. The other day I was driving home from work, listening to the radio, and they played a new song called Rude Boy by Rihanna. As the song played, my jaw started dropping lower and lower. I was gobsmacked. They are actually playing this song on the radio?!?!? Now, before you jump to conclusions, please note: I AM NOT A PRUDE! In fact, I am far from it. I'm probably one of the most in-your-face, blunt, forthcoming, sexually aware people you will meet. So why was I gobsmacked? Because I know my 10 yr... Continue reading

On Sunday night, as my husband slept blissfully, I was reflecting on my weekend and was overcome with a feeling of full satiation. It occurred to me that I was thinking about what a fabulous weekend it was, instead of thinking, UGH! the weekend is over already, where did it go? What a great feeling that was! I replayed the entire weekend in my head, and let me tell you, it was a full weekend of activity! Friday night I left work at 5pm, and instead of heading home, went to pick up my oldest daughter Mary from her friend's... Continue reading

Saturday morning, drinking my coffee, and I can feel the energy of the day. It feels good. Tonight I am joining friends at a local establishment for drinks, laughs and good times. I'm looking forward to it. I can already feel that it's going to be wonderful. My incredible friend Gillian is hosting the event. She oozes positivity out of her every pore. This is why I know it's going to be a great night. When she is involved, one can't help but enjoy themselves. She inspires me to be better. To be a better mom, a better wife, a... Continue reading

Hoo! Haa! It's HUMP DAY! Hump Day, the nickname for Wednesday. The middle of the week, or the peak of the hill as you head towards the weekend. It's a glorious day. It's "you're halfway there". And it's a day to savour. It's a cuddle in your jammies and share a joke time. It's a making plans for the coming weekend time. It's a celebrate you made it this far time. It's the day before payday. And seriously, why not take the day literally, and get humped on Hump Day? Who says you can't? Throw caution to the wind and... Continue reading

Oh what it takes to be a woman! Here I sit at my computer, head full of hair dye, trying to "wash that grey right outta my hair". I'm using a boxed dye from the drug store. Why? Because I have very little time to indulge in a few hours at the salon, and because it's certainly much more cost-effective to do it myself. Nothing fancy, just dark brown. :) My oldest daughter, M, recently had her hair dyed too. She had low-lights put in to get rid of most of the blonde streaks she's been getting since she was...
