In 2007 I had the opportunity to see this film, The Living Wake at the AFI Film Festival. It immediately became one of my favorites. I waited three years for it to come out in theaters. Right now the film is only playing in major markets, but the DVD is coming out on August 3! The film stars Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale, Zombieland) and comedian Jim Gaffigan. My favorite part of this film is its storybook appearance. It's a perfect dark comedy with an amazing lead actor, Mike O'Connell. I can't recommend it enough. If it isn't... Continue reading

Lovely lady, Sarah Fox, has a brilliant jewelry line titled Cursive. I'm not sure how it took me until a couple of months ago to discover Cursive. It's a beautiful line of creative, unique, feminine pieces. Plus, Sarah lives in my lovely city of Chicago! Luckily for everyone, Sarah sells her jewelry online as well as in many stores throughout the US. The best part is, they have an affordable price tag! Continue reading

Wow guys, I have so much to share, I don't know where to start! I moved a couple of weeks ago to a new apartment in Chicago. Brad and I are living together alone for the first time in our 7 year relationship. FINALLY! It's been fantastic. Finally I can share a space with someone who has the same design interests as me. It's fantastic! As soon as we moved in we got a kitty. We adopted him from a local no-kill/no-cage shelter. He is 3 and his name is Björn. We chose that name from our love of Sweden,... I am so in love with Amanda Johnson's tattoo. I've been obsessed with it for a while now, and she keeps showing it off on her blog. All of my tattoos are pop culture inspired, so I think a tattoo like this is just what I need right now. I'm in love with toile, so maybe something like this would be 100% perfect. Amanda Johnson, you are amazing. Please, please, please check out her blog. Continue reading

Draft Cider is by far my favorite beverage (along with ginger ale). I can't tell you how excited I was to see that one of my favorite graphic design co's (I Heart Dust) redesigned packaging for English cider brand, Hearts Cider Makers. I hope that someday I actually see this cider on the shelves. I bet it's darn good delicious! The packaging is absolutely brilliant. Continue reading

You've all heard of Rifle Paper Co, right? I hope so. If not, then I'm just so excited to introduce them to you. Anna Bond is the spearhead of this amazing company. They create custom stationery, wedding invites, etc with the most fantastic design aesthetic I've ever seen. Rifle has easily become one of my top 5 companies (along with Ikea, Baggu and others) I just love the tactile feel of some of their invitation and stationery pieces. Such a delight. Oh, and the blog is just as amazing as the company. I just can't wait to someday have a... Continue reading
