I am a devoted wife to John Wayne (really, It's true! wink, wink), mama to many, as well as a nurse turned stay at home mom. We homeschool our brood, and are living life to it's fullest. I try to look at life as the glass being half-full, or was it half-empty, or wasn't that the 2nd glass of milk you've spilled?!?
Interests: As i am seeking to know Christ on a deeper level, He is showing me that true joy lies, in seeking Him first.....other things i find joy in? Making my husband smile, making my oldest child roll her eyes at me and then crack a smile cuz she can't help it, trying to get my 2nd to tell me how weird i am, (really, this is true!), getting my little cowboy to lasso me with a hug now and then, and tickling my littlest to make her belly laugh come out! Other stuff that lassos me? Anything to do with natural living, crafting with natural fibers and such, teaching, (and being taught by), my kiddos each day in our home life/ home school. enjoying every minute, (okay most minutes), of our life together!

This blog has laid dormant for quite a while now. No new words. No new pictures. (Oh, I've been taking quite a few of those, believe me!) God basically laid it on my heart, that He wanted me to take a break from posting for a while. And, I took... Continue reading

-Someday there won't be any leftover apple cores from army men and pirates left in my armchair. - Someday I won't hear the sounds of children stories being read aloud to siblings in my living room. -Someday I will find the last lone sock. No more searching for lost socks... Continue reading

So often I write for the masses on this blog. How to make a baby wrap, our teen girls' summer reading challenge, and oodles of recipes. However, I want to really be keeping more of a record of our lives. The lives of my family that is growing up so... Continue reading

This recipe is something one of my daughters came up with yesterday. I am excited because I LOVE the Double chocolate cookies they sell at Subway.....even though I am sure they are full of mystery ingredients. Not something I want to think about my family eating often. We try to... Continue reading

What joy it must be to see your nieces in the sweaters knit with such love, I am sure. There is no greater gift to me than someone enjoying the work of my hands. Loveliness. Blessings, Joy~

I taught myself to knit, with motivation from Amanda. I bet you could do the same with your desire to sew. There are classes everywhere!

It looks just lovely on you! As, I've either been pregnant or nursing for *years* now...I have to remember to be proud of what my body has accomplished. (And, IS accomplishing...being I am 3 months pregnant with our 6th babe.) I may not have the body I once did, but I treat it well....and it has done so very much. As your has as well ;) Blessings to you, Joy~

One thing that seems to keep people from making real food at home, is the time involved. There can be a lot of preparation: chopping, mixing, baking....and not everyone has time for that. This is one recipe that can keep prep time down, and enjoyment of making real foods in... Continue reading

We have 2 dogs and 3 cats in the house, who love to think they are human at times. They definitely keep the house from getting dull....as if our five kiddos would let that happen ;) Our moment: http://www.vimandvigor.typepad.com Blessings, Joy~

A few moments alone can be so refreshing, can they not? I am a mama of five as well, and that truly is a rare treat. Taking a quiet time for myself each day helps me be the best mama I can. Hope your time gave you the energy to tackle the meeting and supper when they returned. Blessings, Joy~

That trick you have there made me laugh out loud. However, I am sure it works well! I do already spend much time getting the little ones ready when we head outdoors....though, I find it is always worth it. Usually I join them, which is wonderful as well. Love your photo! Here is our moment from the week: Includes two of my daughters as well. http://[email protected] Blessings, Joy~
