As do I Sarah! Maybe the winds will blow you our direction soon? I hope you are enjoying your new, precious little one...so happy for your growing family!
Spring is for Sewing
If there was any question about the matter, let me say that spring has definitely arrived here in the San Luis Valley. The robins have returned from their winter homes and are hopping around all over the yard, and the infamous spring winds are blowing the valley dust to the sand dunes (along wit...

Co-op Day: Apples!
Oh how we love apples. What is it about the apple that makes this most common of fruits so irresistible? Whatever it is, we spent our co-op morning this week celebrating this favorite fruit through food, story, art, movement and song. I usually think of apples as more of a fall theme, but for ...

Thanks Kerry! I just love your comments.
I had not thought of using the beet powder...great idea. It seems hard to keep the color in the cakes, but you can make up for it with the frosting. A Valentine's tea party sounds wonderful! I bet the girls had fun. Glad you liked the delivery! We had so much fun putting them together and secretly delivering them this afternoon. See you soon!
Valentine's Beet Cake
Love, love, love to you all today on Valentine's Day (and every other day as well)! I meant to post this yesterday, but, well...sometimes life has other plans. So, here you go, a little Valentine's love from us to you. I love cake made with beets. I'm pretty sure anyone who knows me well, k...

Thanks for your comment Kerry! I love receiving little notes and cards from Ruby. It's so nice to remember that there is no race, no need to keep up...just plenty of time for our little ones to learn. Your family is one that I always feel inspired by...thank you!
Why We Play
OK, begin disclaimer: This blog post is in no way meant to judge anyone for parenting/educating decisions. Seriously. We all walk our own paths, sometimes diverging and coming back together with the unique paths of our friends and family. This is a beautiful thing. We all make decisions that...
Indeed Jorinda!
Sweet Sibling Moments
Sibling love. It's been melting my heart lately. It's the moments they share, unaware of being observed, that get me the most. Hearing the giggles as they run around playing together in another room, watching brother help sister up onto the bed, sister taking brother his coat and boots before...

Thirty Three?
Does anyone else forget how old they are? For the last several years Aaron has been the one to remind me how old I will be on my birthday. Since having little ones I just cannot seem to remember sometimes. Maybe this year will be different...thirty three seems fairly easy to remember... Yes,...

Co-op Day: Winter Birds and Trees
We've been slowly getting back into our home school co-op rhythm this month. Two weeks ago only a few people were able to come, and we mostly just built castles and drew pictures. Not that there is anything wrong with that, of course. Last week I was inspired to tell one of my favorite wint...

A New Year's Day Hike
Well hello there 2014. I know we've only just met, but I can tell that we are going to be friends. We had a wonderful start to the new year today, full of blueberry pancakes (and a few special chocolate chip ones), solar robot building, doll-making, hiking, hot chocolate with friends, black...
