Dear Friends, For those of you still out there, I apologize for the huge lapse in posts. The situation is--- that I am currently in school on top of everything else in my life. I am taking online courses through Cornell University to get certified in Plant-Based Nutrition. Though I... Continue reading

I wake up in the morning at 6:30 a.m, and get a 2 large glasses of filtered water, each with a half of a fresh lemon squeezed in. I sip on it and jump on the rebounder for 10 minutes. I don't do the rebounder every morning, but most. Then,... Continue reading

Another wonderful piece of my journey came today in a trip to my acupuncturist - a lovely Chinese man who has known and treated me for over 20 years. I brought him my thermography scan thinking he would definitely be all over it and giving me lots of needles and... Continue reading

Mel- thank you for sharing all that. I am so happy that any small thing I can do can inspire anyone to feel even a little bit better. I am excited for you to re-commit. Be gentle with yourself. Sometimes it's better to do a little change and stick with it and add as you go. Much Love, XO C

Friends.... Oh my. I am not sure I can eloquently tell this story when it is so fresh- and still unveiling inside me- but I feel if I don't get some of it down, I will not remember smaller details in the future. As you know, I've been on a... Continue reading

Yay friends! I am so happy I have time for one more post this weekend. Plus I got a new Mac keyboard and it feels so nice on my fingers. It's been a long time since I've had a truly functional keyboard. Sometimes it IS the little things. So, I... Continue reading

Friends, As I sit down to write this post this morning, I know I will likely have to take it in chunks. It may take a few days or more. My old self would have tried to write it all at once, get it all out as if my life... Continue reading

Last year, as I shared, our once lovely and far-reaching back lawn all died due to the drought and we began the process of re-landscaping the yard ourselves in a drought-resistant fashion. Because the cost of materials - such as yards and yards of pea gravel and decomposed granite -... Continue reading

I think a lot about the resistance we sometimes have to getting well. I remember a point in my life when there was absolutely no way I was going to be able to do the things I needed to do in order to get better. I was in an extremely... Continue reading

When I had my previous blog, Lady Cordelia, I would sometimes do a post called "Around Here" which was a little photo and word documentation about what is going on at home, what is happening in the corners of our home and garden. As far as our backyard, the storms... Continue reading

My 10 year old is a girl scout, and a proud one at that. Every year there are cookies sales- and every year I cringe. If you have ever read the ingredients on one of those cookie boxes, and really studied them on the internet, you are probably not eating... Continue reading

I totally hear you on that subject. My MIL also cooks with inhumane meat and other ingredients. All chemicals and etc... I usually just take very small portions and then don't really eat very much. I'm navigating it all, and ultimately- yes people should understand our diet decisions, or at least be tolerant. But we are the ones who make ourselves feel shit about it regardless of what they "think." Love your comments, Mel. Thank you. And I will look at the book on Amazon. I can't read about factory farming though. I just can't take it. XO

I'm on month FOUR of eating a plant-based diet. No dairy, wheat, eggs, alcohol, caffeine, canola oil, soy, corn or anything with artificial or natural flavors. That leaves my diet to be based in a LOT of organic vegetables and fruits, some grains and nuts and tiny portions of chicken... Continue reading

I've been inspired this week by the idea of raw foodism. And while I don't plan to go fully raw, I do appreciate so many aspects of the diet and lifestyle. (In case you are unfamiliar, a raw diet is made up of fresh, whole, unrefined, living, plant-based foods: fruits,... Continue reading
